An easy-to-use web builder that doesn't require advanced coding skills. Pros Squarespace is easy enough for beginners and complex enough to do everything you want it to. Pros: -Easy to get started -Beautiful themes -Responsive -Reasonably priced hosting -Scalable Cons While Squarespace can help design some beautiful websites, the platform itself has its own problems. The biggest issue is loading speed. If you've been building your website for some time without refreshing the page, it will slow down to a crawl. Sometimes, the only way to rectify this is to log out and log back in. Additionally, it should be noted that not all functionality is plug-and-play. Instead, much of it depends on you having a decent knowledge of web design and coding to get your website to behave exactly how you want. In other words, for those without any coding chops, designing anything beyond a basic website is going to be a major challenge. Once you get around building your site, I love it. Pros I was recommended this website by someone in my industry. It was time to upgrade and work with company that had a better SEO so I could be found and get more people to my site. I love it because it professional, its recognized and it is highly trusted. The integration to mobile is perfection. It looks amazing! Cons I came from another website that had a easier set up, but I couldn't be found. The set up for my site was a bit challenging, but once I looked at the videos on set up it was much easier. The cost was a lot more as well, but worth it to have a professional site. Love that hosting is built into the price. Super easy to make updates. Cons The UI isn't the most intuitive. There are some things I want to be able to do to massage the design, and don't really understand why they're not available. While the platform works very well for me, someone with experience in web design, I'm not sure that the average person would have the patience to sit down and slog through if they wanted to build a website. For example if I need to layout the same image in multiple areas, I half complete the entire process over and over I cannot just copy the piece I want to multiply. They follows the rules of design so you can't mess up your website. Because they have some restrictions when you are designing your site, you won't be able to place a random box or logo anywhere on the page. This means you won't make it look horrible by design. Pros I like the ease of use. As a photographer in trade, I do not know much about website building. At one point I tried to do this (and failed!). This website was an easy solution to get my work out there in a style that focused on the work, not the design of the site. This is exactly what I needed. Cons Like I mentioned in part of the feature review, I do a lot of diptych and triptych sets. The software did not make this easy and I had use third-party software to accomplish this. I have no coding experience but I wanted a site I could operate myself, twerk features and templates to my heart desires. Cons The invoices are not easy to find, which is timeconsuming whenm one needs to download them for all the many customers in the list of websites. Plus it look great and professional. Pros Squarespace is a module based website builder that allows you to make a great looking website and switch out different parts of your site with the features you need. If you need a media player on one page, select the audio module, need a photo galley on another, that is easy to do. They offer almost never ending flexibility for everyone from the novice to an expert. Pros: -Great Pro looking templates -many of different module (app) like features - ability to customize to your liking - More advance features for more advance users available -Fast and easy to use -3rd party support -Even ability to do eCommerce with ease Cons You do run in to some limitation with a module layout designer not always being able to place things or having a layout exactly how you like. This means you are sometimes limited to the way the template or only selecting from the options available to you instead of creating your own. At least for the less advance user. July 11, 2018 4.0 I was able to build and add content to my business website in just a few days, added to that there is also an option to add an online shop and I ended up using it to sell products I would have otherwise had to stock and sell in person. The online shop simplified the process for me greatly, this is why I recommend Squarespace to anyone. Pros I love Squarespace as it gives you ready made templates to edit, this gives the website a professionally built look even if you're a newbie to web development. Also their price was attractive to me as in my country web developers charge a lot, here at Squarespace I've been able to set up my business website and online shop at a fraction of the price and had it built exactly how I want it. I love Squarespace. Cons I don't have much negative to say about Squarespace aside from the limit of 20 pages on a personal website and needing to upgrade if you want to have more on it, but for the average user 20 pages is plenty. My go to platform for creating single page websites with limited time. Pros I was able to signup for square space and get my website setup completed in a day. Cons Compared to other CMS platforms this is a little bit more limiting from a design and layout perspective but once you get to grips with the limitations it is very easy to use and quick for the simple things. Cons While Squarespace does many things right and simple, they sacrifice specialty functions. They are all limited by Squarespace's built-in apps and make customizable solutions difficult. If you need to perform custom tasks and code, I do not recommend this product. Cons I still prefer coding all of my web projects from scratch for security and optimal quality reasons and for the pleasure of being able to get creative as best as I can.I only ever use this for creating beta and demo pages for presentations. There are some basic integrations available with email service providers which makes setting up new business sites on a budget great Cons I dislike the ability to easily customize certain features within templates and the automatic cropping it does of most images on mobile view. Pros Building and maintaining a website with squarespace is easy thanks to the many templates for arranging pages, text, images, and plugins. I found it straightforward and simple to create a visually-appealing and functional website for my small, service-based business. Some of my favorite features include the ability to collect form responses, view insights about the performance of my website, and host a virtual shop to collect payments from clients. Cons Occasionally some features freeze up or fail to load, which is a bit frustrating. Sometimes the drag-and-drop blocks (when building a page) don't function as you would expect, making it hard to achieve exactly the layout you want.
