Pros What I really liked about Squarespace was that it made my website look very professional and Squarespace's customer support is great. Cons Like every other website builder, it has limited features and also very expensive. It's also very difficult to trouble shoot your website without removing customizations. In both cases, I have been impressed with how elegantly everything works and how user-friendly it is. Pros Squarespace is a well-designed, elegant solution to building a website when you are not a techie! Their options for designs are generally clean and artistic, and the back-end tools are very useful. Cons Some aspects are a little complicated, like connecting the website to a Facebook page or Twitter account. Owner Photography Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Visually stunning, user friendly design & functionality" July 18, 2017 5.0 15x as many inquiries as I got before using another website builder platform, customer credibility, and a LOT less stress and time wasted! Pros Visually stunning, mobile responsive template designs that allow a TON of user-friendly, drag and drop design flexibility. My website looks like I pay 20x more than I actually do and has truly revolutionized my business! I love the form feature and the ability for my customers to contact me and fill out questionnaires based on a wide variety of different "field" options all automatically sent straight to my email. Cons The website editor has crashed for me often on Safari, so I had to get used to using Chrome for website editing. The form reporting also isn't the greatest, so while I do love getting form responses/reports sent straight to my email, they are sent in plain text in the email body so it makes it more difficult to gather and synchronize form results (would love PDF/spreadsheet options as well). Pros Easy for anyone to use immediately, even if you have no previous experience with making websites. Squarespace has significantly reduced the activation energy required for putting your concepts, ideas, and businesses on the web. Cons Most squarespace websites look fairly similar, making it harder to stand out. I'm not sorry about using Squarespace, but I'm sorry my business failed within six months. Pros Squarespace is great for anyone who needs to design a website. Tons of features with a very easy to use interface. I was able to create a stunning, if now defunct, website for a side business I had two years ago. Cons The pricing isn't as competitive as some other options, and they don't allow third-party apps/extensions. I went to Squarespace and never looked back. No updates to perform, no security checks, etc. Super easy! Pros The back-end security at Squarespace is second to none. The template designs are attractive and functional. The mailing list functions are great. Pricing is reasonable. Customer service is good. All around, I could not be more pleased. Cons The shop functionality could be improved slightly. For instance, I sell digital downloads and prints. If you aren't going completely custom, Squarespace is best. Cons There really isn't anything I have to complain about. First off, you design off a template that is already beautiful. In some cases, you can simply paste in your info. Pros The ability to start off from a template that is already gorgeous. The selection of colors and fonts is HUGE. The premade widgets look great without modification although you can tweak it as much as you want too. Cons I wish there was more templates. I used these guys for years because they made it so easy. There support is awesome and the interface for new bloggers is intuitive. I really found this plateform thoughtful and beautiful! Cons I am sure they are continueng to develop but for serious bloggers there is only one plateform for the best pluggins and SEO. However, with a little know-how, I was easily able to use Squarespace to create a fully operational e-commerce site for a designer handbag in less than a month. The integrations were seamless, the design was easy to figure out, and needless to say - the client (who had a very small budget for this) was impressed. I'd use it for any client. I love it. Pros Easy to design and customize without a development background. It was also easy to set up the site for the Facebook pixel for site traffic and click tracking. Cons It had a bit of a learning curve, but a much smaller one than other sites like wordpress. After some digging and searching for no more than a few minutes, I was usually able to figure out exactly what I needed. Our design and development team really like it; choosing it is a matter of money and the other marketing tools you might have. Pros It´s very user-friendly and easy to use. You can build a website by dragging and dropping sections; it integrates with other Apps so you can analyze or automate tasks related to tracking, forms, purchase process, and email marketing. Cons The personalization of the site and some elements is not to easy to do. Also, to personalize them you need to upgrade to the paid version, and there are other platforms that have this "feauture" for free. The templates are great, visuals beautiful and it is fairly flexible. We added the email marketing for free which is a bonus as we were paying for Mailchimp. It is easy to use and most people know what it is when they see it. And it allows me to be able to compete with some of the bigger name DJ companies in my city. Pros How easy it is for customers to make the payment for deposit using Squarespace. A simple swipe of the card just like they use anywhere else. It gives me the same capabilities as any other store my clients frequent. Cons With Squarespace, there truly isn't a method for getting quick help assuming there is an issue you want to investigate. Pros We have to update our site fairly regularly with new vendors and events — Squarespace makes it easy to edit and add new galleries and filters. It's easy, quick and cheap. Usually you can only get two of those three things. This software brings them all together. Cons It's a pick and play type software. If you know what you're doing, in less than an hour you can have your website up and running. It's not as comprehensive as WordPress, but it's getting there. Cons I wish there were more templates to choose from and new ones that continuously come in. Cons A few things are not intuitive and not easy to find now and again. When I'm editing pages, it's not always clear where I need to go until I do a bit of looking around. But, in fairness, I guess this is common in many complex applications. Reason for choosing Squarespace It just felt right to me. I liked the templates and I liked the help files. We have an SEO company that did the initial website buildout and I add a blog every other week. And make changes if we rotate staff. Pros I like best about square space is that is it a good value for the service that it is. The price is reasonable, and it seems to be the best choice according to our SEO company. Cons I do not like the user interface for the blogs. The manipulation of the creation page could be easier to use. A lot of the times the things I try to add make the page “jumpy” and it distorts all the other blocks I have already added. It gets frustrating when you try to format a blog a certain way and you have to keep redoing it. Reason for choosing Squarespace We ultimately decided on Squarespace because our SEO company was very very fond of it.
