### "Web Design without Technical Experience"

March 17, 2020

5.0

Overall squarespace is I believe the best option for those who need a website in order to run their business or share their content but don't have the capital or the expertise to hire someone else

Pros

When I actually love most about squarespace is the restrictions that puts on me in terms of design. It prevents me from choosing random fonts throughout the website and protects the integrity of my look across various pages. Continuity is not something that I am good at as an amateur web designer. Squarespace protects me from inconsistency.

Cons

The web design site itself can sometimes bog down my computer greatly and prevent me from running other apps or tabs in the background.

I love Squarespace! Literally a life saver!

Pros

I love that you don't have to use a lot of coding but you still get a lot of flexibility! The hosting is taken care of for you and the customer service is AMAZING! So many good experiences here!

Cons

There are some things that you can't really customize.

### "Great for small business"

June 5, 2021

5.0

Squarespace gets my website noticed - most customers come from the internet. They have the features so that I get a custom submission form to my email and can easily interact with potential customers.

Pros

The beautiful templates made it easy to work with someone to design my website. Now, after 6 years I am able to go in myself and update and make changes relatively easily for a non-tech person.

Cons

I think the biggest con is that it has a lot of versatility and options and I don't know enough to be able to utilize them. I need a Squarespace for Dummies, lol!

### "Small business works great!"

October 3, 2018

5.0

This is the second system we used for a website and we are very pleased with this so far. We have been using it for just about 2 years.

Pros

This website replaced our previous GoDaddy website and we love the modern design and ease of use. The price is great too, we pay an annual fee and customize the website ourselves. You can pay more for better features, but we do not sell anything online, so a basic website is perfect for us. This provides unlimited space and pages as well.

Cons

Since this is a template based site, sometimes this limits what you can do, unless you know how to get around this. We have been completely happy with the overall use of this product.

### "WordPress's Sleeker, Cooler Older Brother"

March 15, 2020

5.0

Pros

Squarespace is another CMS (much like WordPress), but what I feel makes it better than Wordpress is the fact that it is better built to become an ecommerce market place. Design features allow easier integration with the various tools and softwares you would use to create an online store, serving as a good choice for any start-up ecommerce business.

Cons

Squarespace is somewhat expensive for those who don't have a solid budget for web store maintenance. WordPress is the cheaper (and sometimes free) alternative I would recommend using if money is a pain point. It ultimately depends on your need for a CMS - if you're blogging or putting together a digital portfolio then WordPress is the best choice. If you're creating an online store or want something a bit more 'official' looking then Squarespace is the CMS for you.

### "Convenient"

November 15, 2022

To this point Squarespace has provided me with a much needed website to point clients and potential clients to.

Pros

Squarespace made its software easy to use and will conveniently integrate with other features I may need in the future.

Cons

There are times I have thought I would like a more customizable template but I has not been necessary up to this point.

### "Great, easy to use content management system"

July 1, 2021

5.0

Squarespace has allowed me to take control of my website, create and edit pages without the need for a developer. I'm pleased with how the website looks and have had plenty of positive feedback.

Pros

The user end of this software was very easy to navigate around as a non-tech individual. Lots of information online about how to implement certain tools and usually easy enough to find what you need. Cost is very affordable for a new business, with most features required available.

Cons

The option to have drop down navigations on my site is not very aesthetic, so I have had to shorten my menu and put more onto each page, which isn't an ideal customer journey.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

Mainly due to cost and ease of use comparatively

### "Good for design terrible for subscriptions "

February 2, 2021

4.0

For designing a web page is exceptional, for subscription products is really bad

Pros

Square space is made for design. You can design a really nice web page fast and easy. This was built around design and then they add the e-commerce functionality, that is why the commerce lack many features.

Cons

Subscription services are really bad. Difficult to manage in bulk. EVerything has to be done customer by customers. Changing the paayment date is ok, but if you want to modify to a previous date than the one in the system is not possible. For example. If your subscription payment is due in 1 month but you want to charge them in 3 weeks is not possible. The customization of the products is really bad too.

### "Make beautiful websites without knowing anything about coding or design!"

December 3, 2018

5.0

I used SquareSpace as the website for my business. It was a very simple design that really just provided me with an opportunity to have a info page about my product, have my personalized URL, and have a way for my customers to easily contact me. The yearly price to have a custom URL and to have a very simple info site was very affordable as a small business just starting out and suited my needs perfectly. I only left SquareSpace when I decided I needed an eCommerce solution and Etsy's Pattern provided a more affordable option than SquareSpace's.

Pros

It is very easy to use and you can create a beautiful website and have it published in less than an hour (if you are doing something rather simple and straightforward). Even if you aren't a designer or terribly tech savvy, you can end up with something very professional looking just using their templates or using a few images or graphics you may already have.

Cons

I feel there are a limited number of features and options for customization. I found myself wanting to customize it a bit more and was a bit frustrated by some template limitations.

### "Easy for Beginners"

January 22, 2019

4.0

I have a Squarespace website, but have never tried Wix or GoDaddy to create a site so it's the only one I'm experienced with as of now. Overall easy to use, but I had to Google A LOT of steps along the way.

Pros

I am not a web designer by any means, but Squarespace offers some great templates and is inexpensive. I also like their free analytics tools to help you see your traffic without using any external services/software.

Cons

There's a lot of research involved (and frequently searching their FAQs) for various features of the site. I'm not crazy about the fact that some of the coolest features are exclusive to certain templates and not available everywhere (like SEO meta descriptions, which seem necessary).

### "Pros & Cons of Templates"

May 25, 2021

4.0

Generally my experience has been good. I work in a number of platforms in addition to Squarespace (including WordPress). I prefer using other website building platforms when I have total control over all edits. When I am building a site and then passing it on to someone with less experience Squarespace is a good product.

Pros

The templates Squarespace offers are beautiful. The drag and drop functions makes creating an attractive website very easy. A great "plug & play" product that nearly anyone could use to create a website quickly.

Cons

True customization is very challenging if not completely impossible within the templates. Even when selecting "blank page" --building the page still requires selecting from a limited number of blocks.

### "Simple yet Effective"

May 15, 2019

4.0

Squarespace solves many issues that arise when trying to build a website for the first time. The simple interface make it incredibly easy to build a new site without any coding knowledge. It is great however lacks some of the features included in alternatives such as wordpress. Also there arent as many plugin options as wordpress however the ease of use makes it quite easy to get your site looking and working the way you want. Overall I'd suggest this for complete beginners with no prior coding skills, If you already have experience I would suggest an alternative such as wordpress or to build the site from scratch

Pros

The best thing about this software is its ease of use, it makes it incredibly easy to make a website with no knowledge of coding required

Cons

Not as many features as alternative software

### "One of my favorite online products."

August 1, 2018

A great affordable way to market your business.

Pros

Squarespace is cheap, nicely designed, and easy to use. I recommend this to almost everyone I know who is making a website. The interface is easy to figure out and navigate, and you really can't beat the price!

Cons

Sometimes the back-end needs to be tweaked in order to get what you want. I have experienced some glitches with the templates, but overall, I have had a wonderful experience. I currently host 3 sites through squarespace.

### "Simple and Cost Effective Web Design"

December 14, 2018

4.0

While some might feel that there is not enough uniqueness with Squarespace-designed websites, I would ask anyone to take a step back and really think about what they are going for with their website. Sure, there are a lot of things that one could imagine that would make for a really unique, cool page, but is it practical and reliable? I came to the realization that the most important thing for a website is that it work consistently and not look like a hot mess. As an artist, I have tons of, what I think, are great ideas. In theory. But they are just not practical as web page applications, and at the end of the day, you want your visitors to have to have an enjoyable experience with your website and not to have them experience a convoluted mess. Squarespace has loads of reliability and stunning designs that you can customize (and not need coding skills!,) not to mention productive add-ons like e-commerce applications, to work with, and one of the best things is that you pay a simple fee to do all of this and they will handle all of the back end so you don't have to worry about hosting.

Pros

It is incredible easy to design your own website within Squarespace's templates. They really have some beautifully designed templates that can be customized to your needs, and because they are maintained by Squarespace, they are consistently reliable. And, you get all of that plus hosting for what I consider to be a reasonable price.

Cons

While I am perfectly happy trading off stability for a more unique design, I do feel that you can hit some limits to the customization as opposed to Word Press, which is what I used before. You are saddled with the templates that Squarespace makes available, but ultimately I find them to be more than sufficient.

### "Always happy to renew my Squarespace website"

April 27, 2021

5.0

Would easily recommend to anybody starting a business or blog page. Tons of tools, resources, and overall fun creative energy around the product.

Pros

\-very good templates to choose from -don't need to be a programmer to build a kick-ass site -internal resources are extremely helpful for EVERY piece of functionality you could think of -tons of integrations -gives you ALL the tools you need to be successful

Cons

\-designing can be overwhelming -certain templates harder to use than others -best sites will need some custom CSS -will likely need to hire out some work to help with SEO or custom work

### "Squarespace - A Simple Website Builder"

May 28, 2020

4.0

I have used Squarespace to help many clients over the years and its a decent web builder, but I wouldn't suggest it to someone who really wants a professional site that will be scalable in the future and more flexible for design and extra functionality.

Pros

I liked that it was a self-contained web builder+hosting solution. This makes it easy for individuals and small businesses to get started building a simple website without a lot of extra headaches or server management.

Cons

What I really didn't like was how limited the tools / features are. I am an expert web designer so it would get frustrating when a client would request something and it wouldn't be possible or would become an exhausting process to customize.

### "A good web publishing platform for new websites"

June 24, 2018

5.0

Great for those making their first site. Would not personally recommend for a larger more established business that is already generating significant revenue.

Pros

If someone asks me what they should use for their first website, many recommendation is Squarespace. It is easy and affordable and can handle basic ecommerce. I believe that it is easier to use than the competition, and allows a broad feature set while staying simple. Other platforms that cater to a certain kind of site, ecommerce or blogging for example, aren't as well rounded for basic publishing.

Cons

For a serious established business, Squarespace feels like something that they would grow out of. For those who want their first website, it is one of the best choices, but otherwise, I feel that Squarespace doesn't offer the same functionality and flexibility as its competition.

This is a great option for people who don't build sites and are happy with the provided solutions and not being as customizable.

Pros

Super easy to use initially and if you follow the main templated approach without too many special features.

Cons

Lacks a lot of customizability and no options for individual font size outside of title tags causes clients to use titles incorrectly.

### ""This review is brought to you by...""

April 8, 2021

I really love Squarespace. It's taken over the self designed web space and it's made my life a whole lot easier to get work out there and present myself as a professional.

Pros

If you've ever watched a YouTube video then you've heard of Squarespace. I love squarespace. They're so easy to use and setup. There are a lot of services and plugins that can help to customize your site really easily.

Cons

My only complaint would be that templates are so good that most people don't change very much and you have a whole bunch of sites that are carbon copies of each other, but that's not really Squarespace's fault I suppose.
