### "No more excuses for an outdated portfolio!"

October 3, 2019

5.0

I was skeptical about using Squarespace for my portfolio, as I didn't want to deal with the overhead costs. However, once I got started, I quickly realized that it wasn't worth coding a site on my own for my portfolio when I should be focusing on the time to showcase my ACTUAL work (not my coding skills).

Pros

The block content approach makes it really nice to keep a clean and consistent layout on every page.

Cons

Sometimes it takes a little bit of time to tweak the style for text and content. Occasionally, I have to throw in some code to stylize content a bit further.

### "Easy to use, but didn’t have what I needed"

December 17, 2022

5.0

Their customer service was terrible. I only needed to contact them once to cancel and they took over a month to get back to me and I had already been charged again by then so it was irritating

Pros

I love how user friendly their platform is. Super easy to take and accept payments and build a professional website

Cons

I sell a lot of digital files and I could add them to my website but I had to send them out manually so that’s why I didn’t use square space long term

### "Quick to Market"

June 13, 2019

5.0

Pros

This is one of the easiest programs to use to get a quick marketing site or small product off the ground. We do not use it as an option for clients but is a great suggestion for potential clients that do not have the budget for custom site builds. The customization tools help make the site feel unique while giving the user a lot of templated wins to not get bogged down in the building process. The ease of the cart and shopping setup is also a huge win for product/ecom sites.

Cons

For the average person, the custom css required to get in specific fonts or other needed items can be confusing and overwhelming.

### "Attractive Designs, but Interface Takes Some Getting Used To"

July 16, 2019

4.0

Pros

A lot of the templates for websites have are very attractive. Lots of options for templates, fonts, and other design elements. If you aren't wandering too far from the template, you can have a good looking website up pretty quickly. There is a lot of functionality in the software as well, which is great for someone like me who has never done any coding.

Cons

The design software takes some getting used to. I had to google a lot of questions to solve issues I was having. And some seemingly simple things aren't very easy to do, such as different designs on different pages. Just allow for some learning time if you want to really customize your page.

### "#1 Recommendation for easy portfolio sites - good templates"

November 17, 2018

5.0

Comparable to the portfolio sites by Artstation. Superior to Wordpress for showcasing art portfolios.

Pros

In 2015-2016 suddenly everyone migrated to Squarespace for their professional websites. Trying it out myself, they are a lot more accessible to showcase portfolios. Within two clicks of visiting their site, you can browse templates for showing off your visual work. It's incredibly easy to use for anyone who doesn't want to outsource their portfolio site.

Cons

No cons, in my opinion. I would say that all competitors for website building are still similar. Squarespace is easier to set up if you want a portfolio site, but once you have everything set up, the differences between Wordpress, Wix, Squarespace, Artstation portfolio sites etc. are not that big. Whatever gets the job done!

### "User-friendly taken to the extreme for the benefit of the design experience"

March 8, 2019

5.0

Squarespace allowed me to quickly design a board game blog website, without having even put any thought into what I wanted when I begun. It lets you make it up as you go if you want, or you can design with a clear vision. Super easy to use and design with.

Pros

Squarespace rightfully prides itself on being the easiest to use web site design service. You need to know absolutely nothing about websites and their coding infrastructure to use Squarespace effectively. It's like working in a large creative space where your vision is simple to snap into place. I love using this sort of interface and recommend Squarespace to anyone who values efficiency and ease of use.

Cons

You are limited to an extent by the available templates. You can't fully customize everything, but that's the price you pay to use something so easy to use.

I will continue to use Squarespace to create and manage online shops as it is simple and easy to use,

Pros

Squarespace has a simple step-by-step set up process. I started as a beginner and never had trouble navigating my way through the program.

Cons

### "Easy-to-use, flexible, and good-looking web design, all backed up by stellar customer support."

September 6, 2017

5.0

Squarespace lets us build and host a good looking website without the significant time and resource cost as custom development.

Pros

SquareSpace has unparalleled customer support. I've never had faster, better executed chat support with any company. Every time I have a problem or a question, the chat support team quickly steps up to the plate. It's really quite impressive. The design platform for building websites is also quite good. As a web design novice, I was worried about the fit and finish of my project. Fortunately, SquareSpace's templates are brilliant. I am thrilled to say our finished site looks even better than we could have hoped, and without the huge cost of custom web design and hosting.

Cons

Squarespace is flexible, but it is also limited. Some of the functionality that seems like a no-brainer, such as recurring payments and more complex code integration, is not possible out of the box. Third-party tools can services can be used to achieve these features, but at added cost and without the same seamless experience that SquareSpace prides itself on. If they open up the platform to more integrated solutions, I will have no complaints at all.

### "Makes Building Websites Simple"

May 20, 2019

5.0

Helps me with the tools needed to build and market my websites.

Pros

I recently started getting several clients who use Squarespace, I couldn't imagine how powerful it was when it comes to building stunning looking pages. Just when you think you've seen it all, along comes another surprise, well, I'm not actually surprised because the competition is very tough, and these companies work endlessly to make their products the best. With Squarespace you don't have to worry about buying hosting, installing Wordpress and its endless plugins that could ruin your website, just sign up, choose a plan and start building your website. It also has all I needed to market my website to build a sustainable business.

Cons

Nothing, really, but it won't hurt if you can save and export pages to another Squarespace account.

### "Squarespace Review"

September 27, 2019

5.0

I'm happy to have come across this service as it made it easy for me to show my portfolio, process credit cards along with many other payment options, and it showed me that im capable of doing what I thought was impossible as a one man show.

Pros

honestly, I like the ease of use especially given that im neither too much of a tech-savvy nor do I have much experience in coding and web design. squarespace offers a wide variety of templates, easy to use drag-and-drop blocks, and webinars to better understand how to use the product and service. squarespace also offers many phone supported apps to edit and track your website from your phone which makes it super practical and versatile to use on the go or if you don't have access to a laptop/computer

Cons

I have been using squarespace for a few months now, its a bit hard to point out flaws to be quite honest

### "An okay web builder..."

September 26, 2019

3.0

I'm trying to build a business website for my creative agency and it is tough to find the right template that gives me the look that I want. I find that molding templates can be a frustrating process but I'm still learning the ways to modify it.

Pros

I like that it is streamlined for simple modification. The templates that they offer are usually clean and eye-pleasing.

Cons

To mold templates or create a specific look, you need to utilize their coding platform, which costs extra per month and has to be activated. It is not as easy to use as they claim. I would prefer more options to modify without coding or more template options if they won't provide the options.

### "Loved it since it's so easy to create your website!"

November 29, 2018

5.0

I suggest this to anyone who is just starting!

Pros

I like that you don't have to be an expert or know the code to create a beautiful website. It's all drag and drop and I love how you can create it in one day and be proud of how it looks. Love it!

Cons

I think it's a bit pricey for those who are having the website for a long time. When you create the theme and the design, I would want something cheaper for monthly subscription.

Pros

The step-by-step help in building a site is very useful. With a little exploration of the features, one can use the plethora of options available to build an exquisite site.

### "Great Customization. Sleek Design"

January 15, 2019

5.0

Pros

This website software was pefect for our business's new website. No HTML knowledge required, although you can use HTML to further customize the site and add widgets, custom coding, etc. There is unlimited file storage space, and the admin interface is fairly easy to set up and use.

Cons

Some of the setup was not the most intuitive, but once you get the hang of the layout, it is very easy to make changes and quickly build a second (or third) website!

Pros

As a person who used Wordpress as well, Squarespace gets it done if your are not looking for a crazy customization, a great tool for democratizing website building for everyone!

Cons

### "Once you have a grasp on the basics, building a DIY website with Squarespace is manageable for most"

April 9, 2021

4.0

It took my team a few days to fully grasp the potential of Squarespace and learn its design tools. This is not a steep learning curve, and most functions are intuitive out of the box. Once you have a grasp on the basics, building a DIY website with Squarespace is manageable for most. Customer service was a joy to work with, and we'll continue to recommend Squarespace to those who don't need a professionally-built, custom WordPress website.

Pros

Out of the do-it-yourself website builders we've reviewed, Squarespace offers the most features at the lowest price. Support is knowledgeable and readily available to guide you along. Squarespace is our top recommendation for clients looking to build their own website.

Cons

Squarespace uses their own proprietary builder technology, and this means it can't hold a candle to the flexibility of WordPress (with its thousands of extendable plugins), however they've created integrations with the most popular 3rd party tools, so there is some power under the hood. Additionally, Squarespace isn't as powerful as Shopify when it comes to E-Commerce, as it's not a dedicated E-Commerce platform, however it is less expensive than Shopify, and most of the features an online retailer will need are present.

### "Not user friendly"

September 17, 2019

4.0

Square space was recommended to me by a colleague and it was not for me. As someone who has no web or coding experience, it was difficult to use.

Pros

I enjoyed using the templates provided by the website. They were artistic and creative, great for any business.

Cons

I did not like the difficulty of use. If you used the templates, you could barely customize the format and it was not easy to change.

### "Website builder with limited functionality"

November 29, 2021

2.0

Squarespace was generally frustrating for me and I adviced my clients to move to Wordpress or other platforms with more settings.

Pros

Squarespace is a good builder for beginners who don't need a lot. For example, if you want a website that contains only your contact information, then Squarespace is good. You can also use it for e-commerce if you need to sell a product.

Cons

Squarespace wasn't a good fit for me for many reasons. First of all, I felt like I had no control over my (clients') websites. It's nearly impossible to customize my design to make it look exactly the way I want. There are almost no SEO features. In fact, Squarespace is the worst platform for SEO I've used, and I've used most of them.

### "Sleek and beautiful website building platform"

March 31, 2021

5.0

As a small business owner, Squarespace has helped me to create a truly beautiful and professional-looking web presence that I am super proud to share.

Pros

Without a huge time or energy investment, or deep technical knowledge, you can create really beautiful websites. Squarespace makes a really professional-looking website within reach for just about anyone.

Cons

Without a deeper technical knowledge, Squarespace can be somewhat limited at times. If you know how to write custom code, you can customize basically anything, but if you've picked Squarespace for it's ease of use, there is likely some functionality that you will be missing.

### "Best website builder."

October 8, 2019

5.0

Squarespace is an obvious winner in terms of design & functionality, but it's still a website builder.

Pros

Best website builder which I'm using for all of my projects. I currently have 6 websites running on Squarespace. It takes very little time to go from idea to a full-blown website with SS.

Cons

It's still a website builder. It's hard to make custom integrations like web apps. Easiest is to use an iFrame - but you have to hast the app somewhere else, not Squarespace.
