### "Squarespace is a simple solution for setting up a beautiful website quickly. "

December 7, 2017

5.0

Squarespace is an easy-to-use platform for creating modern websites that are both beautiful and easy to navigate.

Pros

Squarespace is easy to use with a low learning curve and lots of available resources for using the software. The website templates are modern, easy to install and switch out. The drag and drop visual editor makes customizing your site a breeze. Customer service is very responsive.

Cons

The templates are beautiful but they are limited and currently (at the writing of this review) most of the templates contain parallax scrolling so they all look similar. I'd like to see the variety of templates increased.

### "Love it! "

April 7, 2019

5.0

Great for someone with no to little website background to make a basic site attracting customers. More advanced changes would still need a website developer and I am not sure how it could handle e-commerce.

Pros

User friendly, don’t have to code, looks professional, easy to make quick updates (is riding/adds pictures, etc), subscription is competitively priced

Cons

Limited if you don’t code, some of the adjustments I’d like to make I am unable to, the headers on all my pages are very big and I can’t seem to adjust them. Calendar setting where people can submit dates to sign up for soemthing is limited and can’t be changed unless I spend $$$

### "Easy way to build a basic website, but with some nuances"

October 27, 2018

5.0

Pros

If you are looking for an easy and straightforward site, Squarespace is a great option. There are lots of really nice templates, and for the most part, it is easy to edit and make minor customizations. If you need your website to match strict accessibility standards, you may run into some problems.

Cons

If you are looking to fully customize things or if you are picky about changing certain aspects of a site, you may struggle a little more.

### "For the features I use it's pretty good"

January 21, 2021

4.0

Overall I'm quite happy with what Squarespace has allowed me to do. I know I can grow further with the platform and I really appreciate how easy it is to see the effect of changes on both desktop and hand-held devices.

Pros

I really enjoyed the step-by-step process to quickly get my website up and running. My new photography business sprouted during a Pandemic lay-off, and so I was doing everything on an extreme budget. Squarespace quickly allowed me to create a professional looking online presence, and then made it easy to update my website as the business developed new offerings.

Cons

The software is powerful enough that in order for me to get to the next level with it, I'll need to understand more, in order to take advantage of embedding, SEO and e-commerce functions.

I actually tried Squarespace because they sponsored one of my favorite podcasts, and I wanted to support \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] by using Squarespace.

### "Square space for my small business"

September 14, 2018

5.0

Pros

I use square space for my personal business, it’s easy to setup, use and super easy to track all of my business. And the cost is not very expensive

Cons

Nothing at all, I have recommended this product to numerous people who also own small businesses

### "Squarespace"

December 13, 2022

5.0

Pros

Squarespace is a wonderful and easy to use web design platform. It is user friendly and also customizable for imported templates. I would also recommend Squarespace to any user that is first starting to build their brand and convert into a website as well.

Cons

There are some features that are not as customizable as I prefer, but overall they have everything you need to build out and design based on your brand.

### "Great website platform for freelance artists and people selling a service"

May 2, 2023

4.0

Overall very good experience. If I was building a brand for a school or a freelance artist I would 100% use Squarespace to build out their messaging and community. But for large scale operations and business Squarespace may not be the best choice.

Pros

Squarespace has amazing ease of use and implementation of messaging for your product or service when there is few options to offer. It maximizes visually what the services are and help portray your brand effectively with the tools built in.

Cons

Not very good for scaling up. For full scale eComm I'd recommend a different platform.

### "Squarespace great but has its limitations and frustrations…"

December 23, 2022

5.0

Overall it’s been good but we do feel a little stuck. If we had our time again we’d develop the site in Wordpress; admittedly it would probably need more security updates and maintenance to keep it running.

Pros

The ease with which we can make changes and text updates. Not understanding web design but yet being able to keep the site current is really useful.

Cons

Once you’re on Squarespace you’re stuck; great for them but not so great for us. The renewals are expensive.

### "A good looking basic Squarespace site can be set up in minutes"

December 5, 2019

5.0

Overall my experience with Squarespace has been positive and I don’t plan on switching anytime soon. My website provides me with the opportunity to get my business services and offerings out in the public’s eye in a professional looking website

Pros

What I most like about Squarespace is that it’s easy enough to set up a good looking basic site in a couple of minutes but can also be customized with CSS to do and be more. I also like that I can hop in at a moments notice and make changes with ease.

Cons

What I least like about this Squarespace is that sometimes I see some great widgets that can be used in Word Press and I would like to find something similar for Squarespace, but Squarespace doesn’t use widgets. I can usually find a work around but that takes research and time.

### "Squarespace is awesome"

October 6, 2018

5.0

It's the only site I use to build websites outside of dropshipping on Shopify. Excellent customer support, and awesome back-end navigation.

Pros

I've always had a keen eye for design, and I appreciate clean development but I haven't done any coding since Myspace existed so for someone like me - that appreciates well designed, clean, customizable templates without having to sit and write hours of code for good aesthetics.

Cons

Not a thing! Excellent customer service too.

### "Squarespace, The Place For Website Building"

May 27, 2022

4.0

Pros

The ease of use, the wide array of tools for both creative and business sides of the website's affairs, and the good pricing makes Sqaurespace a good place to start with web design

Cons

It can be infuriating at times when trying to adjust very fine details, some tools feel like they are still in their beta phase and it makes the experience stressful.

### "The best web design & management"

July 16, 2019

5.0

Overall I really like Squarespace. All of the websites I make for my clients are with Squarespace.

Pros

It is one of the easiest platforms for users to use. They continue to make improvements. And now, with the iPhone app, it's even easier to make updates. With the many templates, you can trust that your website will look nice and professional.

Cons

I wish you could make specific changes to the mobile view that wouldn't affect the desktop view (without using code). Some changes just don't translate well to both. I also wish you could change the font instead of having to change the text type to change the font.

### "SquareSpace "

February 23, 2022

5.0

My (side) business is transportation and being able to use SquareSpace to build a nice web presence and also to be able to use Square on the go is great with so many people not carrying cash around.

Pros

Simple - ease of use. Very user-friendly.

Cons

I seriously can't think of anything that I like least about the software.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I did not even compare. I knew SquareSpace would be the best choice for me.

### "Squarespace works"

October 29, 2019

4.0

Overall, I have a few websites that I have built for clients in Squarespace and those are working well. I'd like to customize them more but each time I try something seems to go wrong. So I have stuck to the preset templates.

Pros

Squarespace is easy to use and well priced. It's a solid option for anyone who wants to build a website for their self or does not have the money to invest in a high end site.

Cons

Squarespace is not great for SEO and it is frustrating at times because tools that should be easier to use are not. There could be more online instruction options too.

### "Easiest way to have a professional product without blowing the budget"

August 24, 2018

5.0

Pros

I can't stress enough how easy it is to use this product. Once you select a template that suits your needs, all you have to do is plug in your content et voila, a clean website. The best feature by far is Squarespace's automatic optimization of your site for any viewing format. It completely eliminates the fear that part of your content won't show up on a mobile device.

Cons

In the two years that I have used this product for multiple business pages, I haven't come across anything that is horrible. Occasionally, I wish that the photo resizing was more customizable, but that isn't a unique issue to Squarespace. I feel the same way about Emma Email Marketing.

### "For those without web-building experience, Squarespace is the unquestionable choice"

November 25, 2018

5.0

Pros

Squarespace makes building a website simple, beautiful, and painless. It allows wonderful customization and fantastic options at a very reasonable price.

Cons

Because Squarespace is a closed-loop system (unlike Wordpress where thousands of add-ons make almost anything possible), web-builders are locked into Squarespace's provided options. While those are numerous and in 98% of cases, sufficient, the 2% can, at times, be annoying.

### "Websites Made Easy With Square Space"

October 22, 2019

5.0

I use Square Space as a tool outside of my 9-5 job. It is where I keep my photography portfolio.

Pros

I love the modern designs offered by Square Space, and how effortless it is to add your own content to personalize them. A business' website is a window into what the company has to offer. If it doesn't look professional and flow well, it can hurt the credibility of the business.

Cons

I wish there was more training/resources on how to use Square Space and get the most out of it. For new users, it can be a little challenging to get started.

Wix was getting difficult to use. It was where I first had my photography profile, but I noticed it slowly became less user-friendly. I turned to Square Space to switch things up and give my photography site a fresh new look.

### "Easy to use! We use it for our website design and our online store"

March 7, 2018

5.0

Pros

I like that it has the capacity for us to list for our 'staff' store and for our regular store, it helps us keep track of inventory. When a purchase comes through, it sends me an email to let me know the order has come through, and automatically deducts the item from inventory. The site also prompts when I am running low on an item, even down the the specific size that is starting to run out.

Cons

I wish there were two 'sections' of each item: We have a staff price and a normal online price for everything, and there is the capacity to list everything twice, but then we have to inventory everything twice.... Could be a little more efficient in that sense.

### "Easy to create, customise, track and connect with my audience! "

January 14, 2020

5.0

Overall I’d say that it has followed along beside me while I’ve grown into the designer I am today. The ease of use, companion apps and the endless possibilities have me a very happy customer.

Pros

Squarespace has made it easy for me to feel like I’m in control of my online presence as an emerging graphic designer. I am thrilled to be able to create a website that is undeniably me, and allows me to easily track my audience, with clear, uncluttered information and the ability to design without all the code. Also, I love the iOS apps that I can use on the go.

Cons

To be honest I don’t think there’s anything I dislike. In other words, I haven’t run into any difficulties thus far after almost 2 years using the platform.

### "Great for business related blogging"

July 25, 2019

5.0

Overall, definitely a great experience. I would highly recommend to others looking for a place to blog.

Pros

Love how easy it is to build your own blog, as well as customize your site. Mainly use for business related blogging at this point though.

Cons

I wish it would just let me build tons more new widgets, since it doesn't always have what I am looking for readily available. A few issues trying to upload your own logo too.

### "I used Squarespace to create a couple of personal "brochure" style sites."

May 24, 2018

4.0

Pros

It is fast and easy to start building a site. It seemed to only take a few minutes before I was choosing a theme and adding my own information. The result was a simple, clean, modern site that did exactly what I wanted.

Cons

While the simple sites were easy to create, I often found myself wanting to do something that either wasn't possible at all or for which I needed to upgrade to the business plan. Overall, I think this is a great product for individual's with need of a website and little experience in making one but once you progress past that beginner need, it might be worth looking at more advanced options.

### "Website From Scratch to Published in 30 Minutes."

February 13, 2019

5.0

For our organization, Squarespace was a great upgrade from our previous web hosting situation, which was a customized WordPress template. Squarespace allowed us the ability to set multiple contributors to update our information through a user friendly interface.

Pros

The automated website builder was intuitive, creating a clean and functional website layout for my organization's web site in just a few clicks. They also provided a free 14 day trial (with live webpage published for review) without any credit cards to start. This allowed our team to tweak and customize our site and train our contributors before being locked into a plan, making sure this was the right choice for our organization.

Cons

Tiers & Pricing — Squarespace provides multiple tiers of features, based on user or business needs. For a non-profit organization (not looking to sell or take payments/donations online), the available tiers weren't a perfect fit for us. The business webpage tier provided beyond what we needed as an organization, but was priced slightly high for our needs. The personal tier was priced within our range, but did not offer features we needed.
