### "I run a website on Squarespace, Personal subscription"

May 10, 2018

3.0

Quick set up of a very professionally designed website. No worries about hosting. Everything you purchase comes in one single invoice.

Pros

The design: it is clean, minimalistic, very professional, both websites and user interface. The user interface is straightforward to use, intuitive, very clear. The signing-up process and domain buying are fast and clear.

Cons

With a personal subscription, there is no code injection possibility, meaning that you have almost no option for customising the template you chose. Some features are entirely missing (third level menu, for example). The process of changing template is not clean, makes you lose some of the customisation work you did. There is no possibility to export and migrate your website to other platforms.

### "Great site to build a nice website. Helped tremendously with my company site."

December 5, 2017

4.0

Being able to sell my products to a mass audience.

Pros

Many layouts and templates to help you. Whatever design you're looking for, Square Space can help. Found the perfect layout for my small business. Saved me a lot of time and money on website costs. The ability to sell products was huge for me.

Cons

Customization, after you select your template, is very limited. You are not able to alter too much.

### "A Decent, Simple Site Builder"

January 24, 2019

4.0

I am a marketing media consultant, and one of my clients uses Squarespace for her site, which I now manage for her.

Pros

Squarespace is a fairly simple site builder with some nice features. It's great for those who want more control than Wix gives you, but don't need all the bells and whistles of Wordpress. It's easy to set up, update, and edit. The built-in eCommerce solutions are robust and manageable. Compared to other basic eCommerce options out there, the pricing for Squarespace's business plans is very reasonable.

Cons

I often use Wordpress, and I love the functionality of the many plugins that are available there. Squarespace doesn't have such an option, and I miss being able to streamline some of my regular tasks. It's not bad, though, and it's still a very workable program. It's great for those who don't need full control, and not so frustrating as to make me want to pull my hair out. Squarespace is a great middle-ground sitebuilder.

### "Not as intuitive as I thought it would be, but still a beautiful solution"

February 24, 2022

5.0

Overall, I think Squarespace gives a quality product. Pages load quickly and everything feels very snappy. While their templates and themes are beautiful and easy to use, some portions of their customization can use some work from a UX aspect.

Pros

With a drag and drop interface, it’s easy to create a website that’s customized to your needs. You can customize your site with the style of templates and the color scheme you want. It's great for anything, from a blog to a portfolio site. Squarespace also provides email, hosting, and domain services, so you can make your website even more professional all in one place.

Cons

Sometimes the drag-and-drop isn't so drag-and-drop. Depending on the feature you're trying to add, it may or may not be available for preview from the Editor page. It's also a pain to have to keep backing out in order to see different menus.

### "Best Website-Building Software!"

September 19, 2019

5.0

Overall experience with Squarespace has been exceptional! It's provided us with a platform to advertise our business, is easy to manage when we need to add new content or edit anything on our website, and there are multiple website design options to suit a variety of tastes. I highly recommend Squarespace for both professional and personal use!

Pros

Squarespace has been so great to use for our business over the past several years. After exploring other website software and hosting options, we chose Squarespace because its usability, website design options, and smooth compatibility with mobile devices. For someone who doesn't have a background in software or website design, it was easy to learn how to use Squarespace! It's well worth the cost!

Cons

As far as the cons for using Squarespace, there are no cons that I can think of. If I've ever had an issue, it's been easy to seek help.

### "Some cool features, wish I could do more customization"

October 26, 2018

4.0

I think this is a good product for people who know nothing about websites and need a site for their small business or personal portfolio. However, I'd recommend that anyone who is looking for the ability to have more in-depth customizations look elsewhere.

Pros

It's really easy to use if you've never dealt with web design and/or development before. They have a lot of out-of-the-box features that are great for individuals and small businesses. They also seem to have some good third-party support.

Cons

I didn't like all the user interface animations that slowed things down when I was working in the WYSIWYG. I also think the inability to add CSS classes and ID tags to elements is a huge hindrance on this product, as it makes slight, global customizations really difficult to do and manage.

### "Squarespace has made building websites simple yet functional."

June 22, 2018

5.0

Pros

I love how Squarespace is clean and provides a simple user experience. I have now created 4 websites with Squarespace. Each website has been unique due to the plethora of template options.

Cons

While each template is customizable, there are limits to how much I am able to customize. I also think it is interesting how Squarespace does not have a phone number on their website, it makes customer support feel far fetched.

### ""Unlimited" does not equal unlimited..."

February 23, 2019

4.0

While aesthetically pleasing, the high cost for unlimited storage was too high to keep my magazine on Squarespace--especially when paying for unlimited did not, in fact, give me unlimited space. For a literary magazine with archives, this was especially frustrating. We migrated to Wordpress instead.

Pros

The software is aesthetically pleasing. This also translate in the user experience--in encountering the site as well as building it.

Cons

It's hard to individualize the site without coding knowledge. It's also quite expensive.

### "Alright, but need to step up their game"

June 8, 2017

4.0

Ecommerce function is lame. Also wish the blog feature had more in common with LinkedIn than WordPress. I don't want to log into pages every d#mn time, if you know what I mean.

Pros

If you don't have any clue what you're doing or what you want, use Squarespace. It's hard to get lost when you don't have a destination in mind. If I was a restaurant, musician, or anyone else that just wanted to "get her done" I''d use this in a heartbeat... though with all the competition out there, I'd do my homework first.

Cons

If there's something that you'd like to tweak or make your own, you're pretty SOL'ed. Sure there's the opportunity to code at your own risk, but surely in 2017 we can find a true happy medium, no? Loading times were also slow which means I spent a good deal of my build time watching the circle of buffering death spin. Frustrating.

### "A good website builder"

July 6, 2022

5.0

A great website builder and they've done well to buy up new companies to create new services like scheduling etc. I'll always be a Squarespace customer.

Pros

It's super easy to use. Great documentation. Literally the best customer service.

Cons

If you go off the reservation and try and tweak the templates too far, it can end up a little messy.

### "Create a Website - Easily"

September 15, 2018

5.0

Pros

The people at Squarespace created a great service that lets you create a good looking and functional website with pretty much zero coding knowledge. No need to download and install anything. Everything is within reach and easy to start creating your website from scratch. Customization is unlimited and many other services and add-ons can be integrated very easily.

Cons

Support tickets can sometimes take a while to get answered, at least in my experience.

### "Squarespace"

November 20, 2018

5.0

I created a design portfolio to showcase my graphic design projects. It's allowed me to create a website for potoential clients to see my work and contact me.

Pros

It allowed me to, fairly easily, make a website for my professional portfolio. There were different layout options that were thoughtfully designed to a give cohesive feel to your page, ability to sell things, and clean design overall.

Cons

There are some weird formatting things that can happen. Sometimes when you shift around elements in a templated page you can't quite put things where you want them without dropping them \*exactly\* in a space.

### "Powerful Site Builder"

December 3, 2021

4.0

Squarespace allows you to build a beautiful, templatized website. There are plenty of templates to choose from and there is great integration of marketing and SEO functions.

Pros

Squarespace is an inexpensive way to build a website for your business or personal brand. You can set up an eCommerce site as well.

Cons

Sometimes customizing a site can be restrictive, especially if you don't know html to customize a template.

### "Great Website Builder If You Don't Mind The Cost"

April 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

Squarespace is easy to use and makes very modern-looking websites. As time has gone on, they've added more functionality and worked out the bugs so that most anyone can use it. And I'm sure they'll continue to improve it. It has all the functionality that 99% of website builders need.

Cons

The downside to this convenience is cost- Squarespace has increased its prices over the years which makes something like a Wordpress site a bit more attractive.

### "Awesome website platform for any business owners"

July 5, 2020

5.0

Love Squarespace! Have 4 websites with them. Haven't had an issue so far so will continue to use. The monthly fee is nothing compared to what I'm getting.

Pros

I love Squarespace because I can build a website with no coding in just a few hours. I think Wix is cool but I personally thought that Squarespace was much easier. The integration for ecommerce is a cool feature too.

Cons

The limited themes would be a con. However, I'd still use Squarespace over other website building platforms.

### "Squarespace is so user-friendly!"

December 18, 2018

5.0

Pros

Squarespace is slick and you can get professional results in minutes. Pages are so easy to build, and the shop interface is also very easy to add!

Cons

Customer service can take a couple of days to respond to your inquiry, and can require multiple emails to resolve. Connecting to a 3rd party domain can be a headache if you're not tech-saavy (which is why you would be using Squarespace in the first place..?)

### "Squarespace is a No-Brainer for Photographers"

January 22, 2020

5.0

Right now, I don't see myself switching to another website creator platform. Squarespace does the job and is affordable.

Pros

I've been using Squarespace for six years now. My photography website is easy to manage, and when I do need help doing something, their customer service team is super responsive.

Cons

I wish there were more templates to choose from. It's important to me to keep updating the look of my website, and the lack of template choices limits my page's aesthetic.

### "Love it! Makes it so easy to build a nice looking website."

August 2, 2018

4.0

Pros

\- easy to use (no coding skills required) - option to use custom CSS code or just custom code blocks on the sites

Cons

\- Regular down time - squarespace does go down regularly. Usually not for long but mostly without warning so not idea. - I've been told there are some concerns around SEO but in my experience SEO these days is 95+% content so the platform you built on should make much of a difference.

### "Great for do-it-yourselfers"

August 2, 2019

5.0

It's clean and easy to use. It's nice to have the option to buy the domain from them and not worry about a 3rd party hosting.

Pros

If you're not looking to hire someone to build you a website, Squarespace is absolutely what you should use. It's super simple to use and I had a site up and running in about an hour.

Cons

There aren't a bunch of features if you're looking to make complex sites and features.
