It's allowed me to create a website for potoential clients to see my work and contact me. Pros It allowed me to, fairly easily, make a website for my professional portfolio. There were different layout options that were thoughtfully designed to a give cohesive feel to your page, ability to sell things, and clean design overall. Cons There are some weird formatting things that can happen. There are plenty of templates to choose from and there is great integration of marketing and SEO functions. Pros Squarespace is an inexpensive way to build a website for your business or personal brand. You can set up an eCommerce site as well. As time has gone on, they've added more functionality and worked out the bugs so that most anyone can use it. And I'm sure they'll continue to improve it. It has all the functionality that 99% of website builders need. Haven't had an issue so far so will continue to use. The monthly fee is nothing compared to what I'm getting. Pros I love Squarespace because I can build a website with no coding in just a few hours. I think Wix is cool but I personally thought that Squarespace was much easier. The integration for ecommerce is a cool feature too. Cons The limited themes would be a con. However, I'd still use Squarespace over other website building platforms. Cons Customer service can take a couple of days to respond to your inquiry, and can require multiple emails to resolve. My photography website is easy to manage, and when I do need help doing something, their customer service team is super responsive. Cons I wish there were more templates to choose from. It's important to me to keep updating the look of my website, and the lack of template choices limits my page's aesthetic. Usually not for long but mostly without warning so not idea. - I've been told there are some concerns around SEO but in my experience SEO these days is 95+% content so the platform you built on should make much of a difference. Pros If you're not looking to hire someone to build you a website, Squarespace is absolutely what you should use. It's super simple to use and I had a site up and running in about an hour. I get a lot of compliments on my website, which I did myself, with absolutely no web-design experience. They give great tips and have lovely, unique layouts to choose from. It's really impossible to make something look bad. I feel like it's a great value for the money I'm paying. Pros I love that Squarespace is easy to use. It's almost impossible to make something look bad, and it's incredibly easy to make it look really good/professional. Cons When you really get into the nitty gritty in Squarespace, there are some features that are difficult to figure out. I wanted my navigation bar to drop down to show options for other pages, and I needed to ask technical support to figure out how to do so. They were easy to get in touch with and very helpful! Pros Squarespece took website building for non-coders to the next phase. It is always up to date with every trend and the websites always look professional. Moreover, they are secure. We've been using it for low-end clients and they are all happy. Cons If you want to create more complex websites, it can get a bit tricky. Also, the customer support keeps referring you to FAQs and articles which are not always very helpful. This is why we only use wordpress for our higher profile clients. With Squarespace, we can categorize items available, get notified when requests are made, and use forms to collect needed information (ie. addresses on where to ship items to, recipient names, etc.). Squarespace is pretty straightforward when it comes to building your site and offers a lot of functionality. Cons No complaints! Squarespace gets the job done and does exactly what we need it to do. I absolutely LOVE the intuitiveness of the web design interface. A ten year old kid could do it. Cons I absolutely HATE the fact that you can't change the desktop layout from the mobile layout.
