Cons It took me a bit longer than other blogging platforms to master, but it really is intuitive and packs a lot of tools. Without ever having used the service, a solid day of practice and I was comfortable with the software. Pros For the price and the enormous selection of beautiful, mobile-responsive themes, the incredible value and user-friendly interface is the best out of their competitors, in my opinion. Their WYSIWYG makes it incredibly easy to use, even without any development or design experience. Anyone can have a website with Squarespace. Cons Literally the thing I like least is their spacing tool. Sometimes I can't precisely place things in the center or where I want them exactly. Review Source MM Mikaela M. December 4, 2018 5.0 I loved building my website with Squarespace! I was previously using the Divi template on Wordpress, and I spent 20+ hours building a website that was mediocre at best. It took me less than 4 hours to build my Squarespace website, and it looks amazing! As a small business owner with little to no experience in design and creating websites, I was looking for a place to create a beautiful, clean website at a good price and Squarespace definitely fulfilled that dream. Pros I love the beautiful templates that are available and it is very easy to select one and customize it. Also, I really love the free trial period to try out different templates and figure out all of Squarespace's options. Cons I have no complaints about Squarespace. I have switched to Shopify. Pros I really love the amount of templates Squarespace has for FREE and the pricing. For a year, you can have an ecommerce store for under $500. If you have a blog or portfolio - there are so many options available to use! It is also very easy to edit those templates yourself. Cons I did not love Squarespace for an ecommerce store. When compared to Shopify, there is no contest. Shopify has everything you need integrated from shipping costs to amazing analytics and the ability to sell your products on other social media platforms. With Squarespace, it seems to only be easy to sell in your country and on your website. Pros Absolutely love the extremely clean, modern sites offered by Squarespace. If/once you get it all set you are sure to attract clientele as UI is very appealing and sites navigation very intuitive. Cons Somewhat limited site layouts and definitely not the most intuitive site building solution out there. Because of this unless you spend enough time with support we're sometime limited to what we can do to selected templates. The thing is, even a great designer can build something on Wix... it comes down to how to you get to the end product, and if you enjoy the interface. Cons Limited features and pricing isn't as flexible. Lots of features and reasonable pricing. TONS of support available, free web training etc. Cons When building sites with templates, you are limited to the specific features of that template. It can be pretty disappointing to design an entire site with a template you think might work to find out it doesn't support a feature you need. Finding the appropriate template can be very difficult. Pros Squarespace has one of the best UI/UX in the drag & drop website building industry. Pricing is decent and affordable. I host my personal blog on Squarespace and the themes are fantastic. Love the platform. Cons Their blogging editor is one of the worst I've ever seen. It's not at all intuitive. It's a distraction. August 30, 2019 5.0 Pros I have been using Squarespace for about a year now for my photography business and I can't complain! Love how easy it is to use and all of the awesome template options. You can change templates at any time and get a preview before the making the change permanent. A bit pricey a month but honestly totally worth it if you want something that is professional looking and easy to customize. Cons The only con I would say is not being able to customize a template more but other than that I love SS. Cons It is shockingly counterintuitive to figure out: as someone with a design background, I had a surprisingly hard time figuring out how to build the actual site. Pros We use this for our store's website. It allows us to easily add items, edit, delete, etc. It has been awesome to be able to grow our store in this way with Square Space. Cons There are occasionally issues with the userfriendly-ness of it on our end - things like changing the front photos, adding categories vs. tags, etc. These are not terrible issues though and we are usually able to get quick support from the software. June 8, 2018 4.0 It's an easy way to create an online portfolio as someone who can only write CSS and HTML. No coding needed! Pros This is an affordable service and it does exactly what I need it to. The templates are clean and function well. The responsive design options are also nice. Cons There are some limitations as to what you can do, as can be expected. Pros This product makes buying and building your own website very easy and intuitive, and offers templates for a variety of different website types (so you can make one without any web design/programming experience). They offer this at a much more reasonable price than their competitors (wix, etc). They also offer 24/7 support, which is nice. Cons It would be nice if they offered a website-domain email account with their "personal" website package, as some other competitors do. I used Squarespace a few years ago to build a website for my mother. Although I am a front end developer, I built her website using Squarespace so that she can easily make updates herself. Cons The layout for mobile screens was not the best when I used this software a few years ago. I hope the layout issues with websites built using Squarespace have been addressed and fixed.
