If you need more in-depth functionality, try wordpress. Pros Very easy to use and has great templates. Easy for a small business owner to create a quick website. Also very affordable! Cons The two week trial period is too short but better than nothing. Having more time to set up before paying and going live would be a nice addition. Also limited features and too much pay to play. It works well and allows for a fast development time. Pros Squarespace makes it extremely easy to setup a multipage website. Templates allow for common themes and it supports most of the state of the art graphics and animations. Cons While it does 90% of the use cases, some functionality has to be hardcoded and then it gets hard to work off the existing structure. It also gives you a step by step guide to create your own website using a drag and drop system. What's nice about this is that you don't need to know coding in order to build a quality website. Cons It's a little on the pricey side. I also had to adjust to using the drag and drop system so getting used to it takes a little bit of time. Review Source IER Ivan Enrique R. Pros The ease of use is amazing and the look of the webpages is great. The ability to almost customize everything is good as well. Cons There are things that can get better like lists, the ability to control how many events one show in a specific list, how to customize nested elements and there is no ability to create a page in two or more languages. Cons There is a little bit of a learning curve, since it's a lot to look at initially. But once you have it down, it gives you more editing options than comparable "easier" sites. That being said, it's quite easy to add elements to each page, and I am a fan of the blog. As far as price goes, it may be worth dropping a buck or two from the list price based on what its competitors can do. (On a side note, Squarespace supports podcasts, and I respect that a lot!) Cons Flexibility is a point to consider, altough the templates are great, when comes to make a design from the scratch or doing something more advanced, it can become somehow buggy and the final result sometimes end out in slow web pages. The customer support is always accessible and very knowledgeable. Cons Since we are a large company with many different businesses within, we needed more access to features that did not exist under this platform. We needed more flexility and manipulation of charges, products and overall functionality. Squarespace can easily manage it. It's so easy to use, I've even got my children making websites, you can't get easier than that! It's the full package for everything you need to get a website up and running and you can endlessly tailor and tinker. Pros The features are great and REALLY ridiculously easy to use. The layout is great and the websites look polished. You can really tell when someone uses Squarespace for their websites because of the clean look and often used parallax effects or signature web store. Cons Like I said before, Squarespace has a "look" that is great for all intents and purposes. However, if you don't like this "look", it is really hard to personalize and make your own. They provide templates that have some wiggle room, but this platform is really not for those wanting an extremely personal experience like what you might find working on software like Adobe Muse. Then it was nice to use a major company because I later found a specialist who developed the website further for me. Pros Squarespace is hands down the best drag and drop web design system I've ever used, and I've used a lot of them! The best part is the use of use of selecting text and images and simply moving them around. It's great for the very frequent content updates I have to make. Cons I wish there was better video support for embedding videos and choosing them to only play in certain qualities. Also I wish finding a template could easier with style filters. A none programmer can make a beautiful website. Very easy to maintain. Takes care of a lot of the technical maintenance under the covers so you don't have to. Cons To get the most out of what this program is capable of you really have to dig explore, dig into the help text and do a lot of trial and error. You want to practice a lot before you go live. There is no easy "undo" feature to go back in time, so you can really mess things up quickly. Cons The only thing I can think of that would improve Squarespace is the ability to embed videos directly on your Squarespace website instead of requiring that the video be linked from a third party like YouTube.
