April 30, 2019 5.0 Squarespace has given me a simple to use and implement solution for website creation and management at a very affordable price point. Pros There are many solutions out there for creating and publishing your own website but of all the ones I've used Squarespace is by far the easiest to use. Squarespace's interface is intuitive and makes the process of creating and managing your site very easy with options for eCommerce, social media and many more integrated. In fact the simple interface might lead you to believe that the service isn't as feature rich as it is. The added reliability, security and consistency of the service coupled with the inexpensive cost make Squarespace a phenomenal solution for anyone looking to get their own website. Cons I have no gripes with Squarespace, it's easy enough to use that anyone can do it without any technical support and the service itself is consistently responsive and stable. May 4, 2018 5.0 Pros As a web-designer, I've dabbled in a number of CMS website builders. Squarespace is unbeateable. It's templates are so current in terms of web-standards and features. Lots of liberty when it comes to customization. All sites are mobile-optimized. Domains, security, hosting and metrics are all included. Cons None. At this good a price, there's no sense in splitting hairs to find something negative to say. SS is amazing. Pros It's so easy to use that anyone with a computer can make a halfway decent looking website for fairly cheap Cons Limited in how elements can be stylized without help from someone with experience in web design and basic CSS. My customers always compliment my website, and I am proud I was able to create it myself because of Squarespace. Pros I was able to easily make a beautiful website without knowing hardly anything about coding or web design. Cons It is very difficult to display photos on your site in a portfolio style. There are options for slideshow (but it automatically resizes photos) and small single photos to be lined up, but not just an option to size your own photos within the format of your site. Better than most of the alternatives, with a lot more options than wordpress and others. Pros Love the simplicity of some of the designs on Squarespace. The ability to make a website myself without hiring a designer is worth a lot to me. Cons I wish you could just put blocks of text, pictures, etc exactly where you want them on the page and make them whatever size you want them very easily, but you can't. August 25, 2018 5.0 I use it to build and manage client websites, for about six moths already. It does a good job. Pros It's UI is easy to understand. It is affordable, for my standards. It also offers large number of beautiful themes to use , while building your website. It offers all the necessary integrations - MailChimp, PayPal etc. I really love the buil in SEO, which helped me a lot in the beginning. Many features for a fair price! Cons Like everybody - the templates! This is the only thing, that is not even that annoying. This took all of a couple hours to set up and hand over the keys. Pros I could do some initial set up and then leave my associate to do all the fine tuning. It's very user friendly and intuitive, as it should be. I could also jump in and do some editing to the markup to tidy up the content. Cons If you want to do any sort of fancy stuff, knowledge of HTML and/or CSS is required—that's fine for me but most folks don't know how to write HTML or CSS. I really like how users really don't need to do much besides drag and drop the features they want into their site! Cons What I like the least about Squarespace is that sometimes it can seem a little limited in what is possible because features need to dragged to certain parts of the website and can't just be placed anywhere. Tons of documentation, lots of YouTube videos, and easy to get past that learning curve. Cons Sometimes the plugins can be a little difficult to use. Pros When using software I look for not only ease of use, but good aesthetics, and most importantly, help when needed. Squarespace does a great job of anticipating clients' needs with tutorials both on their own platform and popular social media applications. I appreciate that they have integration with other vendors we use. Most of the features we need are available without having to download additional widgets or plugins. Cons I do think Squarespace needs to work with more vendors, especially those within the entertainment field. This would make it easier for entertainment based companies to scale. I also wish it had the ability to create forums built in. It has evolved into a really powerful tool to create beautiful websites and platforms without having to code anything. Setting up and run a professional looking online store was never this easy! Pros Squarespace is a really intuitive and easy to use platform. Setting up a professional, good looking website or platform is quite fast, and it requires no coding knowledge! If you own an online business, this means you can focus in developing your products, and not worrying about your website. It has a great backoffice with a lot of focus on process optimization. Cons Suqarespace doesn't have that much design flexibility, there's a grid where everything needs to fit it, leaving you with not that much creative freedom.
