November 15, 2022 4.0 All my colleagues at work migrated with me to using squarespace, since then, i never saw a reason to stop using squarespace. Pros Apart from my nft arts exhibition on squarespace, my blog menu are so perfect. Squarespace has lot of sophisticated themes that are so optimized for tablets, pc and phones, its so very highly customizable in the menus. Squarespace has been a live changing software to me. Cons I really just wish my jobs could auto-save while working. The design was beautiful, and I loved that you could easily switch between themes during setup if you had a change of heart. If you don't want to make a big investment on a new site for a small business, Squarespace is a good solution. Cons There were a few elements of functionality that I had difficulty maneuvering, such as galleries. Although the number of templates is more limited than Wordpress, you really can't beat the ease of the product. Pros Squarespace is easy to use and it has beautiful templates. It basically has everything you need, including e-commerce and now even email marketing. I think Squarespace results in really high-quality websites with no web or coding experience necessary. Cons Although I see the value, the cost of the business plan is a little hard for me to afford on a monthly basis as a new business just starting out. I have also heard that Squarespace is designed for websites, but isn't ideal for blogs because it lacks some SEO features that Wordpress offers. Pros It was easy to setup for some churches and non-profits that I have worked with in the past and for them to make small content edits. Cons As a web designer, I'm outside their current ideal user. It is simple to navigate, yet you are able to create detailed, elegant websites to your liking. The online customer service is also easy to access. Cons There were a few features I had asked about that were not available (ex. various drop downs within a page). It helps complete your project faster and not have you looking for multiple areas to design your online site. Pros I like the website builder because obvious it helps you build a site, it provides all the tools needed for anything you one online for your website. Cons I do not like the offers to buy in app, the value is too expensive and it is a little harder than other website builders I tested this site and even though it's a good platform it's not ment for what I needed done. Pros Setting up a webpage that reflected my brand was very simple. Making it customizable was also simple to do. The stock photos are beautiful. Cons I wish it was easier to add the line of code allowing Google to use their analytics without upgrading the service. I am not interested in writing code for the whole website, but did want to add Google Analytics. Having that be an integrated part of the package would be helpful. Alternatives considered [Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)[WordPress](https://www.capterra.com/p/131687/WordPress/) Reason for choosing Squarespace I liked the features and ability to expand more than Wix's offerings, but was not interested in writing code like I might have to for WordPress. Their budgets are meager, and my free time is nonexistent. I steer them towards Wordpress. It can handle 90% of what they want to do and they can usually do it themselves. Cons It’s simple, but never really does exactly what you want. But that isn’t a bad thing. They limit your options to make sure you don’t do something stupid. It’s still frustrating to pull off a simple multi column layout or limiting to have to pick some options, but it’s still possible to make it work. The integrations are becoming almost universal (I particularly like the canva/unsplash integrations which allows you to use and upload free stock photos and designs to your site effortlessly. Cons As soon as you grow, want to build an online store or course, or membership site, it becomes either limited or expensive. It's more for the visually and creatively inclined. There are lot of starter templates to pick from for your website. This software is also helpful for programmers who want to add in their own code. It is er tech-forward with the ability to beautifully showcase photographs and integrate social media posts. Cons Having more already-built templates to use would be great.
