We've been using cake POS system for a couple years now and I've been very happy with it. Wish that we had the income to bring in the pads because that would have made things so much easier.

Pros

Customer support, and ease-of-use. I love the fact that customer service helped us quickly and efficiently.

Cons

Would like it if the payroll would have a marker showing paid and not paid.

Pros

It has made my life easier. It is easy to train employees. It is very user friendly. The reports are awesome.

Cons

Apply Pay and others are not accepted yet. Customers are getting to the point where they only want to use that, especially with their young kids. I think communication could be clearer but have only run into this once or twice.

CAKE makes solutions that are simple for new and veteran staff alike to learn without extensive training. We will include Apple/android/samsung pay in a future hardware release. We're currently testing our "Payment Cube" hardware on our legacy POS hardware, which would give operators the ability to use both Apple Pay and EMV capabilities.

Pros

Super easy to use and it did not break the bank to buy it. Plus customer service is easy to work with and get in touch with when needed.

Cons

Certain features on the employee clock in and out. I have had trouble fixing times for employees who forgot to clock out till the next day.

Pros

Customer service is great and it's pretty simple to use. Everyone I have talked to has been very helpful with the things we needed help with. My only issue is not being able to change sent items. That is really a pain for us. It wasn't like that when I purchased the system. That was a negative update.

Cons

The fact once something has been sent you as an owner can't edit it. Drinks are the main problem with this. So say.... Servers put in a drink but forget to hit olives. To put olives in is .25. So instead of just going in and adding them you have to void the whole drink and enter it in all over with olives. It takes more time. The owner should be able to change sent items.

There are so many different ways to use the system from an owner stand point. Keeping track of data is critical and Cake has made it very easy to look up anything that I might need.

Pros

The system is very easy to navigate, program and train the staff on.

Cons

There have been some little things along the way that have not been very user friendly but the software is continually being updated and as time goes on, the little things are getting worked out.

Easy to use and train staff. Good inventory control for ordering etc. Good cash control and great reliability.

Pros

Low up front costs. Easy to use and program. Support team is very responsive. If you call and ask for a certain report or configuration they will either help you get it or file a change notice to update the software at the next upgrade if possible.

Cons

A little pricey each month. Only one option for credit card processing. reports are not available on the pos system. Only on the back office system.

Pros

New employees catch on rather easily. It does not do everything but it does run a lot of reports that you can get to daily with ease. Customer support will walk you thru most issues you come across in a very reasonable time

Cons

I wish you could do everything remotely. When your a small restaurant you don't always want to give servers ability to get deep into system. Close out reports, tip function

We've had CAKE for almost 2 years and have been very happy with the product. The hardware has been very sturdy and we haven't had any issues with the equipment. We recently added an order pad to our establishment. Our customer success manager, helped us look at our options so that we could select the best equipment for our patio. On opening day for our new patio we had an issue with a power supply for the order pad WiFi access point. CSR drove up a replacement the next day, so that we would be able to be up and running for our busy Friday night. She has been the greatest help with all things related to our POS system.

Pros

Easy to use, cloud based updates so you always have the latest version of software, AMAZING customer service, team take suggestions for features to be added and ACTUALLY applies those suggestions.

Cons

We have been happy with all aspects of CAKE

Very easy to use. Rarely do have a problem but when one arises their tech support is easily accessible and ready to help.

Cons

Honestly I don’t have any problems with the company or software. The ONLY issue might be the difficulty of changing the users interface.

Pros

the order menu is very easy to use and learn quickly. the drop down menus are easy to understand. the shortcuts help a lot. new users are still able to use the system while they learn the best and most efficient ways to place orders.

Cons

would be nice to have some more control from my office, but many of the issues have been addressed and added over the last 3 years. also would be nice to change how things are printed to the kitchen, especially the order of things

Always easy to get someone on the phone. Was very simple to set up. Very easy to add new items to the menu.

Pros

One is the top things I enjoy most about this software is the ease of making changes so quickly. Adding and deleting items is a breeze. I also love how easy it is for new hires to learn.

Cons

My only complaint is that I wish the nightly reports for the servers were more detailed.

The fact that I have not had any major hassles, Cake is a perfect fit for me.

We realized after only 2 days use, extra's the customer's were ordering were being pay for and accounted for. With our old system of using pen and paper, these sales were not being recorded which was profit loss. Now having to be put in system, we are seeing a bigger profit on the extra's.

Pros

So Easy to learn and use. Cake POS keeps up with all my daily figures I need the most. Alot less paperwork on my part.

Cons

Nothing really....learning to use reports took the most time....

1\. Ease of Employee Training, Time Cards, Customer Transactions.

Pros

Ease of use and loading new products. Easily tracks employee clock in clock out as well as breaks. Helps me do payroll much faster pulling it up on reports rather than manually calculating punch cards

Cons

Comps and Gift Cards should be a manager required selection as we have had several employee issues that I have addressed with Cake already and nothing done yet.
