Pros: I started using buffer around 5 years ago and they had a great idea right from the start: how can I schedule social media tasks well in advance so I can set it and forget it?

This has been the core feature ever since: you create your posts, define your posting schedule and let the app do it's magic automatically. Most social media marketers I know care more about the quality of their posts than scheduling each post with an exact date and time and that's where buffer excels.

You can also add different social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter and now even Instagram. The latter is really something most social media apps can't do, so it's great to have.

Buffer is a great tool to "collect" posts from everywhere you go and just put it into your queue with the click of a button. For this they created a browser extension that you can just press when you're reading an article you like and it will be immediately added to your buffer.

Also buffer is the only app I know of that has integrations with lots of blogs and the like that allow you to just add to your buffer with a simple click. Watch out for the "Add to Buffer" button when you browse the web.

The free version allows you not just to thoroughly test the software, but also to use it for your small social media projects where you can schedule up to 10 posts at once.

Oh, and the support is amazing! I once asked for a refund because auto renewal was activated for a customer and they happily refunded it,

Cons: The pricing was way more compelling before with the Awesome plan.

Additional team members are a must when you're collaborating, but they start at 99$ a month which is too much in my opinion.

The buffer is missing some crucial collaboration features of other software that makes it hard to use for working as a team. The current approach is more like "everybody adds their posts and they'll be scheduled automatically" and less "everybody suggests posts and let's discuss them in the team". Thus it's not ideal for agencies that would like to discuss posts internally and send them to the client for approval.

Pros: Buffer integrates nicely with softwares such as start a fire, feedly and Crate. Which are all softwares i use. This makes it easy for me to share content to my followers. It is easy to use and the freeplan supports 5 social medis networks.

Cons: The image quality loss I experienced when i used Buffer on my fire tablet. Granted Buffer on my android tablet is perfect but I wished it worked just as well as Hootsuite did.

Overall: I¿m a huge fan of Buffer (And Hootsuite), Buffer was the first social media manager I¿ve ever used. It was easy to use and the UI was great. I use the free plan which came with 7 days (I think) to use the Pinterest feature free.

I wish the free plan wasn¿t restricted to 10 posts per profile but I can understand the reason.

There was also an image quality loss when I used buffer on my Kindle fire tablet, but their support was quick to help and while Buffer isn¿t natively functional on Fire, it was god to know that the customer care did all that they could to help.

Buffer analytics is kind of lame, maybe it¿s because I¿m on the free plan but I laughed when I clicked on analytics and the metrics were: Retweets, Likes, Mention, Comments, Shares, Potential¿ Instagram Analytics gives better stats than that

One area where Buffer trumps Hootsuite is that it the free plan supports 5 social media profiles (Once again you can only use Pinterest for 7 days free but meh). I like the fact that I can set up my preferred schedule times and then when I ¿Add to Queue¿ the posts go out at the specified time. It¿s like MavSocial¿s ¿Campaign¿ feature.

I also liked being able to Rebuffer my old posts. It kept my social media profile continually active. I mostly use Buffer connected to getcrate.co to keep my social media profiles active.

Pros: Buffer takes so much effort out of frequent social media posting. It allows with a click and a few words of caption to post to one site or many, one page or many, on a pre-set or "next up" schedule so that you never have to stop what you're doing to share a web site to your profiles. It takes care of the post times, the queue, the placement, even the analyitics of how your posts perform across all of your social sites.

Their blog alone is worth subscribing to - jammed with useful and entertaining tips for maximizing your results, and the free version can be very helpful for startup pages or social enthusiasts. But when you're serious about posting for your business, the paid plans make the transition to "professional social media marketer" very seamless.

Cons: Recently, Facebook and Buffer aren't as tightly integrated as they used to be. That's a change with FB, and Buffer is very up front about why things are different. It's a small step backward, and not the developer's fault at all. It's still the very best value in managed social media posting, and a sanity saver for anyone who posts to multiple sites/profiles/pages on a regular basis.

Overall: I'm not a social media professional, and have no interest in spending time each day on multiple pages of multiple sites to share information for business marketing. Buffer let's me do exactly that work with a few clicks, and schedule posts out for days at a time.

Pros: I've done social media marketing consulting for 3-4 years now and I will always suggest Buffer to my small business clients. The platform is so straightforward it would take the most non-technology savvy person to get lost on it. The free platform works flawlessly and lets you connect quite a few of your social accounts, and I have never had a problem with the mobile app - and come to think of it I'm pretty sure I only use the mobile app for scheduling when I create my own content. If you're not sure which social scheduler to use when you're just first starting out, please consider Buffer. Their team is on top of its game when creating content for its users and keeping their community up to date on the latest Instagram API changes and Facebook algorithms. This platform is the real deal.

Cons: This platform is great if you're the sole owner of your social platforms, but when you need to move to a bigger team I would consider upgrading to something more robust like Sprout Social. I really don't have many bad things to say about Buffer besides that its fairly simplistic, but honestly that simplicity is what attracts so many small business owners to the platform. If you have 3-4 social accounts and post fairly regularly on a weekly basis, Buffer is a great product for you.

Pros: I have used Buffer for two different businesses and might start using it for myself personally soon. It's a very intuitive, user-friendly way to schedule social media posts, and even the free version of Buffer is a useful tool. Compared to Hootsuite I find Buffer to be easier to use, and easier to learn to use, as well as far more pleasant to look at. Buffer easily allows you to schedule social media posts for various media channels, and having the browser add on makes this even easier.

Cons: I've been sad to hear about the features that Buffer is removing from their free plan (previously called the Individual plan) in March of 2018. The Re-buffer option (which allowed you to easily reschedule high-performing posts that you previously posted) will no longer be available on the free plan. They've also changed their link shortening options, no longer offering bitly link shortening. This isn't a huge deal, and if you're planning to pay for Buffer anyway then it's fine. Buffer is really most useful if you pay for it anyway, since the free plan only allows you to schedule 10 posts in advance per social account. I have used both the free and paid version of Buffer, and probably will use both in the future, though I also plan to revisit Hootsuite and consider switching back.

My preferred social media management tool.

Pros: This is the social media mgmt software I use and recommend to clients. It makes managing multiple social media accounts and sharing with audiences super easy, without being complicated to operate.

Compared to similar tools, it has an easier user interface - so, it's easy to connect your preferred social platforms, easy to schedule/publish posts for specific times and attach images or links, and easy to manage or re-arrange your queue of schedule posts. Then, when you login to your social accounts, you can focus more on interacting with followers. If you do come across something you'd like to share, it's easy to click the Buffer icon and add it to your queue.

It works with pretty much all the social media platforms you'll need - Twitter, Facebook (pages and groups), Insta, Linkedin, Google+, and Pinterest. They've been improving their integration with Instagram, which was much needed.

The analytics can be as simple or as detailed as you like, letting you keep track of how your content is doing and how followers are interacting with it.

There's a free plan that lets you do quite a lot, but if you're going to get serious about managing your social content and tracking its success, go ahead and upgrade; it's worth it.

Cons: There's not much I don't like. As I mentioned, they've been making regular improvements to Instagram. I can't comment on the quality of their customer service as I've never needed to use it.

Pros: Buffer is very similar to many social media suite products in that you can easily post to several accounts at the same time. Linking the individual accounts to your main Buffer account is pretty straightforward (and you may become accustomed to the action of re-connecting the accounts often). The internet browser plug-in allows you to easily post everything from images and articles to entire web pages directly to your social media accounts. Much easier than copy-and-pasting urls and links into a suite platform in order to mention/comment/etc.

Cons: As noted above, I've struggled with my accounts staying linked/synced to the main business account. Additionally, the interface on the software can be difficult to navigate at times, and it's difficult to find help areas/assistance as to where you should be looking to find additional functionality. Scheduling posts in advance can also be problematic if you're utilizing some of the API connections that are automatically generating content for your social media account as you typically end up with a lot of stock content filling your social media accounts.

Comments: I have individually used a FREE Buffer account for nearly 5 years to manage my Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts. As a free user, I'm limited to 10 updates in my buffer (Scheduler).

Pros: Free account: - Social networks include: Twitter, Facebook (profile, page, or group), Google+ (profile or page), LinkedIn (profile or page), and Instagram - User-friendly interface - Simple analytics dashboard - Offers to optimize your update schedule (Optimal Timing Tool) - Offers an easy image creation tool (Pablo) - Offers a browser extension & a mobile app for easier sharing (Power Scheduler)

Cons: Free account: - Social networks lack: Pinterest, LinkedIn group - Not a social monitoring tool - Limited to 10 updates in your Scheduler - Does not include RSS Feed, calendar

Recommendations to other buyers: I'd recommend Buffer as an entry point for people interested in social marketing. However, keep in mind that this is a scheduling tool... not a social monitoring tool. For those that would then like to step up their social marketing game, I'd then encourage exploring a social monitoring tool, too.

Pros: I've tried other social media auto posting tools, but I find the 'freemium' version of Buffer to meet all my basic needs. Buffer extension integrates well with Chrome, my preferred browser, and enables quick and effective scheduling of social posts. The built-in analytics are a standard feature that enable insights into post performance across your social accounts. Another useful companion app from the same developer is the 'Pablo' that enables to quick and easy creation of custom image tiles for social media use. Recommended if you are graphically-challenged, like me.

Cons: Periodically, Buffer will report (via email alerts) that it's unable to post to a social site. Typically, this is due to changes on the social sites, but Buffer will fix any compatibility issues promptly. Support for the free version is adequate for my needs, but other users may prefer the 'paid' version if they require more help and/or guidance.

Pros: Buffer is so easy to use, and it has great features like post analytics, the ability to add images, and post scheduling. I've used competitor products in the past, and Buffer is the hands-down winner when it comes to easy of use.

It's "sister" product, Pablo, allows me to create images with text that I can post via Buffer, which is a nice addition.

Overall Buffer is a great way to manage multiple social accounts on behalf of my clients at a very affordable price point.

Cons: The only downside of Buffer is that it doesn't have the ability to respond to social - so if you want to really build your following, you do have actually go into the social channels to retweet, repost or reply.

Overall: Buffer makes my life easier. I go in on Monday mornings and schedule my clients' posts for the week. In one hour, I've got enough content scheduled to make my clients look smart and active. Buffer also gives you great guidelines by keeping you top of changes in policy and by showing you which posts have been most sucsessful in the past. It's a great *BASIC* social media management tool.

Comments: I highly recommend Buffer if you are looking for an effective scheduler for your social media contents and updates.

Pros: Well, digitization has opens the vast door to reach the correct audience. One of the best mode is through social media. It might be for our individual growth or for an organizational goal, the main challenge we comes across is scheduling the right content at the right time. Buffer's Power Extension has made it pretty simple, we can schedule blog posts and updates for a whole week and even for a month with a one go! just create your unique status and share it as many time as you want as per the traffic on those posts. Buffer's Browser Extension is a charm, you can install it in any browser for free. Just click on the Buffer's extension icon and it will share directly from the page you are on to all the saved accounts, if you want to change the structure, simply customize the extension from the setting panel. The built - in analytics works awesome! it gives you a clear view on your most effective contents and even guides to re-buffer it with the right audiance.

Cons: I really love this tool, but for integration with Instagram they ask for business profile, individual Instagram profile don't work, but no need to worry, they have provided a guide to switch from personal to business profile.

Pros: I messed up big time when I first got buffer and ended up getting charged double. Completely my fault, but I FREAKED OUT. I was struggling financially and completely flipped out. The customer service was incredible - within an hour they'd sorted it all out (since I'm in a different time zone that's pretty amazing) and were so friendly even though I'd been a complete cow. Besides that - the functionality of the actual software is amazing. I love how my toolbar button lets me schedule great articles I come across all over the Web. The Instagram feature of finally being able to schedule and post without having to manually 'okay' it every time is great!

Cons: It would be great if they could 'loop' content for platforms like Pinterest where quantity is important. It's frustrating not being able to schedule the same thing more than once in a 4 week period.

Overall: The incredible customer support is something I'll sing from the rooftops over and over again. It's great knowing there are friendly humans available to make right whatever I did wrong. The amount of time it saves me to not manually post across my social media channels every day is HUGE.

Pros: Buffer is a software app for social media marketing management (scheduling posts, tracking historical data, planning social media editorial calendar etc) super-easy to setup and extremely efficient. The premium, so-called "Awesome plan", now "Pro Plan" comes at a very convenient rate (approx 100$ per year) and you can schedule up to 100 posts/tweets across 10 different social media profiles.

Cons: They've removed an extraordinary tool that was part of Buffer in the past: The Best Time to Post. This feature was able to track the best timings to schedule and post your social content posts, based on your audience and recent history. Buffer indicated that they had to give up on this function, in order to focus on other core-business areas more important for their software app; however, they've indicated some other apps/software able to do this.

Overall: Buffer is the top Social Media Management tool for everyone: from junior digital marketers, to experience Social Media Managers willing to maximize their efforts with a time & cost-effective solution. If you plan to work intensely on social media platforms (like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc), by using Buffer you will be able to reach targets / results otherwise impossible.

Pros: Easy to use, fulfills an actual need in my content marketing system, very affordable.

Cons: I wish I could put duplicate content in the queue...

Overall: Buffer is awesome. I use it to manage like a dozen social media accounts, both Twitter and Facebook. It's nice because you can have various queues set up for your different accounts, and mark anything that you add to Buffer to go to specific accounts, so you can double dip your content if you want. And then have your content sent out at specific times, with images too. So it lets you "set it and forget it" for at least part of your content marketing.

Another awesome thing about Buffer is the integrations. With IFTTT or Zapier, I can connect Buffer to other programs. For example, if I tag an article in Pocket with "startup", the article is automatically added to my queue for my startup related Twitter. Boom, easy way to keep fresh content going out!

Recommendations to other buyers: The "Awesome Plan" is worth doing and all you really need.

Pros: Buffer makes it easy to schedule posts to my social media profiles. When I find something interesting on the web that I would like to share with my followers, I click the Chrome extension for Buffer and in a couple of clicks, my content is scheduled to share according to the settings I have set up in my Buffer account. Buffer allows me to set different posting schedules for each of my social profiles, making the whole sharing process even simpler.

Cons: I don't know that there is anything I dislike about this program. The paid version definitely gives great value, and the free version offers enough value for many users.

Overall: I can easily schedule my social media posts, either all at once or as-needed when I find something share-worthy. Very simple, saving me a lot of time!

Pros: It automates something valuable to our site. We get a decent amount of traffic from Twitter, so we try to stay active on the platform, but having to do so manually AND regularly for each tweet is tedious. Buffer lets us schedule out 10 posts (we use the basic version) which usually sets us up for a couple of days at a time. The Report Card emails they send also give us a FANTASTIC idea of what kinds of posts are getting hits. That is by far my favorite feature.

Cons: The only thing that routinely frustrates me is when I take the time to write out a tweet only to hit Schedule and get told I'm at my limit. I realize that I can see the number of posts scheduled in the background, but the warning should come ahead of the attempt. Could even be spun into an encouraging popup instead of a prohibitive one. Would be as simple as saying "Congrats on filling out your Buffer queue!" instead of (loosely quoted) "You've filled your queue and cannot schedule anything further at this time."

Overall: Automates a process I'd have to do every day, several times a day. Super convenient.

Pros: Just with a click, you can get your content posted and shared across several groups across social media. You can manage multiple social media accounts. They display the placement and analytics of posts by checking the displayed tabular representation which includes its success and engagement. The application is very simple to use. They bring up updates and change in their algorithms based on the changing trends and standards. The application integrates well with other applications like crate and feedly. Their analytics is, in fact, a very organized one. You can easily create visual content to display on your news feed of all social media websites. Buffer supports Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram. The application employs social media automation. Demographics analytics are done by the application, which you don't find with the other social media management platforms.

Cons: While you are working with a team, it gets more costly as it would be charged for adding each team member.

Pros: Easy.
Affordable - I'm on the free account.
Well known; lots of resources for it like other 3rd party applications.

Cons: It does not do everything I want it to do, but there are no other social media management tools that do, so you can't hold that against Buffer at this stage.

Overall: It's important to state that I only know the software as a free user. I also use Hootsuite, but my preferred method of social media management is Buffer, although it does not offer everything I am looking for. If I could afford it, my choice of social media management would be MeetEdgar, but my business is not on that kind of scale yet and I can't afford it.

I use Bulk Buffer to upload bulk uploads, but the pain of it is that I have to go back to Buffer and upload images for each status. I don't know how the premium packages work, but on the free account, that is painful.

All in all, I recommend Buffer for the person starting out.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it. Much easier to start and use than other tools and you don't have to study how it works, as you can figure it out pretty fast.

Pros: The problem Buffer solved was one of it's kind when it first arrived on the scene. It saved me days worth of time, money and stress in the chaotic social scene by being able to plan ahead and let it go. Since then, many similar other services have appeared offering the same solution. None of them though, offer the level of learning, advice and overall support Buffer does. Their commitment to educating users instills an unparalleled confidence in their business.

Cons: That they haven't yet managed to secure a partnership or arrangement with Instagram that would allow scheduling of Instagram posts too.

Pros: Buffer offers a visually appealing interface that allows you to schedule social media posts very easily. I love the simplicity of it. Besides, one of the great pros of Buffer is the wide range of integrations it has with different social media platforms, including Instagram which is a tough nut to crack as regards third-party integration. Buffer covers that and many more.
Another great thing about Buffer is its customer service. I have contacted them a few times and they took less than 24 hours to get back to me with a satisfying response which solved my problem. They are really nice and effective.
Finally, I should mention the feature to add RSS feeds which really eases the chore of filling every social account posting queue.

Cons: I really can't find much fault to this platform, but there was a smart scheduler which was discontinued (at least for the lowest-price subscription service) and it was a really useful functionality.

Overall: Easy-to-use social media scheduler.

Pros: If social media isn't exactly a priority in your marketing efforts, Buffer's $10/month Awesome plan is plenty. Aside from Buffer's great user interface, Awesome gets you access to their scheduling calendar view, which is a great way to granularly manage your posting schedule. You can also just throw posts into a queue and they'll automatically fire according to the weekly schedule you've set. Easily recommend.

Cons: I question the accuracy of the analytics. We had a Buffer for a Business plan for a few months, and when I compared the metrics Buffer provided to those of the actual social platforms, they usually didn't line up. It's possible that this has been addressed since I switched plans, however.

Pros: You can connect to different social media profiles, create and schedule posts in one central location. This makes my life much easier as I won't need to open the different social media websites one by one, paste/edit the copy and upload the image/video manually and yet have to worry about when is the best publication time for which media. Buffer does it all.

Cons: The price always keeps going up. I have experienced price hike for 3 times for their monthly fee. However, as Buffer is such an indispensable tool, I would still renew my subscription.

Overall: If you have a website and would need to bring in traffic from all sources, Buffer is the way to go.

Pros: Even with a free account, lining up posts for the week is super easy. All platforms covered (relevant ones anyway) They DO have Instagram integration for business accounts. Customer service is fast. They make it a point to talk to you like they are an old college friend. The longest I have ever waited for a response on Twitter for help was MAYBE 5 minutes.

Cons: Everything I have ever had a problem with they address right away. Can't think of any cons. For real.

Overall: I use this for personal accounts and for work accounts. Multiple. It brings all of my work and personal things to an easy to use, manageable, mobile platform. It's a huge time saver. Huge.

Pros: The User Interface is pleasent and easy to use with little or no training. Scheduling posts across multiple platforms is great. With the iPhone app and the Safari extension, sharing posts is even easier and quicker as well.

Cons: There were a couple of features that I enjoyed, but are no longer supported (at this time anyway). One of those is the suggested posting times for each account. Buffer would analyze previous post engagement and offer suggest times. They no longer do this, but it's not a huge loss for me.

Overall: It's a huge time saver for a small business like ours where I am usually the only person managing multiple social media accounts.

Pros: Buffer is a wonderful tool for scheduling, and spacing out, social media updates. It seems to work EVERYWHERE and 99% of what I share to the social networks is done via Buffer. It is easy to use and their support is outstanding!

Cons: About the only thing that I do not like about Buffer is that sometimes, for some reason, a post that you have created will fail to send. Now, if your social network connection needs to be refreshed, they will notify you of that. I have never been notified on a failed send and only see those when I go to the actual Buffer dashboard which is infrequently.

Overall: Buffer is just AWESOME!

Pros: Buffer is a blast to use, and it makes social posting easier without a doubt. When you add in the app and Chrome extension, you come away with the best way to efficiently update your social channels (in my opinion). I really enjoy the post reminders for Instagram too! Something that was not available in previous years on other platforms that I tried. Buffer can provide value for free users, but it is definitely well-worth the monthly subscription.

Cons: If I had to pick something, it would be that posts to Instagram cannot be published through the software. However, I realize this isn't necessarily something that is possible right now. Perhaps it will be in the future!

Overall: Efficient social posts, plus additional performance data. What more could you ask for?

Pros: Buffer invented the concept of a social "queue" and Chrome extension they've become the clear leader in the social publishing space.
They are also a great resource and thought leader on the strategy side of things.

Cons: I mainly use their calendar view, which still has some major bugs and will mess up every so often and they haven't been addressed still since it launched.
I wish they were better able to aggregate the social accounts for analytics I know they're working on a new analytics platform currently, though.

Pros: I must be missing the boat on Buffer. I used to try and get stuff for my company's website done manually and then we decided to add buffer. I like being able to schedule enough social posts in the future for the next week and set the timing to hit during peak periods. Quotes and text are done really easily.

Cons: I actually make more errors using buffer due to the link image not displaying properly, images not posting in the right sizes, or sometimes there's just a random error and my post doesn't go live. I'm not sure why the images and videos don't seem to get the same amount of engagement if they're uploaded into buffer first. I'm sure it's something to do with the way they're put into the different social networks.

Pros: From the very beginning, Buffer has been an extremely user-friendly, clean and powerful tool. The best thing about it is the evolving nature of it - there are always new features coming down their pipeline and many of the things I once wished for became product features already. Power Scheduler that you get through Chrome plugin is an extra bonus point - no need to log into the web interface of the tool - just click a button from within the page you're currently viewing and a little pop-up lets you schedule sharing of this link within your schedule or for custom recurring times in the future.

Cons: It used to give you more on a free plan. Now you really would want to get the Awesome plan. You can't schedule posts directly into Instagram (limitation of Instagram itself), Buffer will ping you with a push notification and will make the posting just a one-tap action but it's just not a fully autonomous process

Pros: Buffer lets you schedule your social media posts ahead of time so as a company spread across different countries and timezones, it makes it very efficient for your social media team to be active during all times. We can integrate all of our the social media platforms Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Google Plus and schedule posts in different time zones.
I like that they send you emails with Report Cards giving you an idea of what kinds of posts are getting hits and helping us understand deeper insights into post performances across all of our channels. Their chrome extension is great! Buffer is quick and easy to collaborate on for our team. It helps us get our job done so we are very happy!

Cons: We would love to have a stream for social listening so we can monitor various hashtags, see what our audience is talking about and look at what our competitors are doing.

Cons: Although their features are more limited than hoot suite, their customer service and simple user interface makes up for it. It has limited features compared to competitors - but is great if you only need to do social media posting/scheduling.

Pros: The platform is easy to navigate and create post to share across several platforms. The Chrome extension makes it easy to share images or articles and automatically shortens the URL, captures images or relevant quotes. The Instagram direct posting has been a great addition!

Pros: Our biggest need is something to save time posting all social media accounts at once. This plus simple analytics in one place saves time and makes it easier to post content consistently. Buffer does these things at a very reasonable yearly cost. We specifically knew that we didn't need solutions that have tons of features and costly, so we are glad that Buffer fits the features and pricing for our needs.

Cons: The price for the base plan of Buffer is great and part of why we like it. I wish they allowed a few more social media accounts than the 12 maximum in that plan. The next tier up for 25 accounts is 10x the price of the base plan. That said, this isn't a huge deal and for us, part of the reason we chose Buffer was that we wanted something simple that didn't cost hundreds of dollars a month.

Overall: Buffer lets us focus on our content instead of spending time visiting each social media platform to share it.

Pros: Easy to set up and add accounts, easy to obtain articles from the web and great customer services. Buffer have really thought about the design and if steps aren't needed they are removed. For example, when adding a new time to a posting schedule there's no need for a save button, so there isn't one. Just add the new time and you're done.

Cons: A shame that the feature that suggested the best times to post has been withdrawn. It was useful to be get this guidance and my clients loved the idea.

Overall: Buffer helps save time and makes social media posts more effective.

Pros: Buffer's browser integration is the best part of the software, allowing me to visit webpages, right-click and then queue up posts on my various social media for the future, and then go back to my other projects.

Cons: There are lots of little tweaks that you have to learn to make it perform exactly right. It tries hard to find associated pictures to go along with stories, but sometimes that doesn't work, and you need to download images and then load them up.

Pros: I've used a number of social media software for scheduling from moderately expensive that came with tons of features to lower priced plans that were a little slim on the extras. Buffer is the first software I've found that's super easy to use, integrates with Feedly seamlessly and makes posting to social media a breeze. Because I'm not jumping through hoops, moving from one screen to the next, like with some software, my posting speed has increased considerably. Scheduled posts are nice and large in the dashboard which makes them easy to edit, reschedule or switch out images. The price is great, too.

Cons: The quality that makes Buffer so awesome is that they do one thing very well scheduling. Unfortunately, this means that you miss out on some of the bells and whistles that come with some of the "all in one" software. Don't look for fancy reports, stats or social media engagement info because you won't find it. If you need any of that data, you'll have to find them the old-fashioned way.

Overall: Buffer has been by far the easiest social media scheduler I've ever used, and I've tried many. It has increased my posting speed time which has opened up more time for me to focus on other projects.

Comments: Great for planning post in the future. It gives you the ability to have a marketing plan and see the results of a campaign.

Pros: I normally put together ads for my company in advance. I love that I can put them into Buffer and set up times for each of the ads in the different social media sites. I even get an email telling me that a post has been made successfully. If I have something I need to post right away that option is available too. I also love looking at the analytics. The analytics allows me to see the type of ads work the best.

Cons: I would love if I could have the sign on to my GSuite account. Other than having a separate log in I have no cons to Buffer.

Overall: I use buffer both professionally and personally. It is the best way to optimize and schedule your posts. I am able to set it and forget it. It is user-friendly and simple to learn and use. It is a great value for the money. I am able to get real-time analytics of my posts which help me gauge what is hitting the right nerve with potential leads. I have been able to increase my following and post for my business even when I am not in the office. This allows my organization to stay on top of mind with our customers.

Pros: With this application and excel, I am the master of social networks, with excel I create a spreadsheet with my publications, in them I include, link to the photograph, date, text, times of publication, hashtags, links and other beautiful things. Buffer helps me by publishing according to my file, YEAH!!

Cons: The length of the texts sometimes changes, that is to say the number of characters and my twits are not written complete when I reach the limit, also sometimes I have problems with the video, something I could fix with Zapier and some tricks. Pros: I love the ability buffer gives the user to schedule RTs - I'm not aware of anything else that enables you to do this. I like the user interface too.

Cons: I find the shortening of links in tweets on buffer frustrating. You used to be able to 'unshorten' links much more easily, however now this is much harder to undo and the links are sometimes automatically reshortened after you've hit 'schedule'. As a result I've found that I now use buffer for twitter less.

Pros: What I like most about Buffer is the friendliness of the platform, added to the pleasant visual quality that they offer to manage the accounts that any person manages. For me, time is important because of the jobs I have, buffer offers me the possibility of managing the personal and work accounts I have on social networks with higher quality. Instagram is a headache for those of us who work in this field, because there are few platforms that help you publish, with buffer that is a thing of the past. Widely recommended.

Cons: I am very satisfied with this platform, so rating negatively is unfair. They could improve their advertising campaign to make themselves known with new users who do not know her.

Overall: I save a lot of money with its free version, and its plans are manageable for those of us who work online. Automation is an added value that I look for in the platforms and the buffer it offers in an incredible way. If you carry your social networks in a disorderly manner, this software can help you.

Ultimately thanks to Buffer I have better results with my content marketing overall.

Cons: What I like least about Buffer is the inability to schedule recurring evergreen content. There are quotes I'd like to share on a repeating basis however in order to do so I need to continually re-post them via buffer and this is a time drain that I would rather avoid. In the past I have used the tool Tweet Jukebox as a way to solve this issue.

If it was possible to auto-buffer new WordPress posts that would be awesome too. A Buffer WordPress plugin would be a cool way to do this.

Cons: If a post goes out and needs to be edited or deleted, you can't do that through Buffer. Google plus does allow for you to delete through Buffer, but not edit.

Pros: 1. It's free if only use 3 social media platforms to schedule posts (can post 10 posts per social media platforms); if it's the paid version, I like it charges way cheaper than other similar apps even their functions are similar. 2. Everything on the buffer is clear and very easy to use, which really save a lot of time. 3. It let you the specific district (timezone) and suggest you select some good posting time for reaching out most visitors.

Cons: Sometimes, the notification function didn't work on time. The bug sometimes comes out that Buffer directly post tomorrow's post on today when you have a lot of posts in the queue. What's more, the report in the paid version didn't really reflect some useful or meaningful data.

Overall: Save time on scheduling all the posts for all different social media platforms; learn which time frame is good for posting in reaching more visitors; Its link-shorten option automatically helps figure out the words limit in Twitter to a degree.

Pros: It's a simple and easy to use social media scheduling tool that does exactly what it says on the tin. You can integrate with your favourite link shortening tool, or use their one and track the success of your posts. You can also 'ReBuffer' the top performing posts and easily fill up your 'hopper'.

Cons: It's very simple, so it's easy to use because there's little to it. The additional features are mostly only available for the 'business class' package, which is per month - far too much for what you get. The reporting side of things isn't very clear and is somewhat limited, especially for the business version. If you're looking to simply schedule posts then this is a good option but, if you're looking for something more then I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Pros: Easy to use, able to schedule a complete day's worth of content for all of your social media channels. Being able to handle Facebook, Instagram and Twitter all at once makes things insanely easy

Cons: It would be nice to have additional social media options, such as SnapChat, etc. but that's a minor complaint. No issues with the operating system

Overall: Being able to organize and coordinate the newspaper's plan for social media

Pros: Buffer was the way to schedule twitter before Twitter or anyone else would allow you to. Of course, they have expanded to all platforms over time. The freemium version is awesome for a single person or small business.

Cons: The limitation of numbers of post for the freemium is crazily restrictive. They really need to consider opening to more just to steal clients.

Overall: made life easier on social media

It is a freemium tool with a very complete free version
One of the things I like most is the ability to add multiple profiles to schedule content. I also love being able to schedule out content well in advance.

Cons: The only complaint I have is that Buffer can not publish directly on Instagram for you, but nevertheless immediately notifies you, for the rest I love this software

Pros: Buffer is a great app that allows you to fill a queue with posts that are relative to your business and social media, and then let the app decide based on statistics and analytics what the best time to publish those post are. It is very useful in being able to work hard on your social media for an hour and then let the app do the rest of the work for the week.

Pros
-Queue a weeks worth of post that will be posted automatically according to the best time.
-takes the guess work off of the poster.

Cons: Sometimes the software has a hard time knowing if something needs to be posted right away or if it is not time sensitive. This can still be fixed by overwriting the post but can be annoying sometimes.

Comments: My highlights with Buffer include the performance management tool allowing for real-time measurement and modifications if needed. And they work seamless with Mac OS OS X. Get the plugin and expand the power of this tool.

Pros: Incredible management tool for an unbeatable price. Social Media is the most important Digital space you need to be in and Buffer makes sure I am always in the game. Their scheduling tool is a breeze and does the job. What I like best is the optimization that occurs Live when scheduling the posts. Every experience I have had has been a joy.

Cons: Not a huge criticism but a few more features would keep them ahead. Headline optimizer and Social Ad generator would be great additons. But this is a simple system with great functionality.

Pros: Easy to use. Simple and plenty of available customization for posts. It helps being able to schedule posts for our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts all at once, all coordinated with the same message

Cons: It can occasionally pull up random photos that are not linked with the story/post we're trying to set up. It's easy to change, as long as you pay attention. Otherwise, you might have some unwanted and somewhat odd photos popping up on your Twitter feed.

Overall: Easy to use, makes structuring a coordinated message through social media much easier.

Pros: The fact that we can integrate all the social media platforms at one place and schedule post in different time zones. With clients based in the US and the UK, this works well as we don't have to be bothered about posting at the right time.

Pros: You can share content on social networking sites. In addition, you may have updated your social media accounts through the organized design and the calendar in your calendar. In addition, you can share the posts on various social networks at the same time, thanks to its synchronization capability. In the free option you can synchronize up to 4 social networks. However, the payment option allows you to synchronize many more social networks, including several instagram accounts at the same time. For the other hand, íts to easy of use and understand how you can share one post or layout in diferents accounst.

Cons: If your instragram designs have more than two images to be published in the form of a reel, you can not program the automatic publications, the tool gives you a reminder, however it would be ideal if they can be published without needing the reminder. Also, I think the paid package is a bit expensive if you are a beginner community manager.

Pros: This software is so easy to use in comparison to other platforms because it gets right to the point: posting to the social media channels that you need. Recently they updated their posting process and you can now streamline your post customization for each platform before you schedule your post or add it to your queue instead of doing one at a time.

Cons: Maybe it is just us, but we tend to get notifications that the connection to social media sites has been lost or that Buffer can't post to said social site, more often than I think we should. It's not a terrible fix, we just reconnect, but sometimes posts are time-sensitive -- and those posts we make sure to do in real-time to be safe.

Comments: Customer Service support teams are awesome. Only once in the year, we have used them has one failed to answer within 2 hours. In some cases, the interaction is initiated by the company to assist you in using their product more effectively.

Pros: Free or Premium the features are yours to explore. The information that is not available is stored if/when you switch to premium you can reach back and grab it.

Pros: At first I was not keen about this software as there were lot of similar software available free. So I started using it in an on off basis. But after certain months of use with other software this buffer software became part of my daily use. They current best part is, it can post video in Instagram too.

Cons: I hope some day they will come up with a feature where we can use templates to make posts. So this is the kind of least feature which is missing.

Pros: Buffer allows you to auto schedule and manage post across most social media platforms. What used to take me several hours to log into multiple sites now takes me about an hour to schedule content for the accounts I manage. It is well worth upgrading to a paid account.

Pros: Very easy to use. The Buffer's UI is so easy and self explanatory, you don't even nee their customer support. With the scheduling, it keeps you in line with the scheduling. On Buffer, you can schedule all of your social media scheduling.

Cons: It is mostly for posting. With that being said, it doesnt' really help you much to see what is going on on your social media pages. However, that was not the purpose of the software. That'd be nice to have but it is not a huge deal.

Pros: I like how it makes it easy to share links from my personal profiles and space them out. The browser extension is the only way I use it and I rarely have to go to their website/product. The best part is - it's free to use. (There are paid plans but I'll come to that later). Also, they have a great team their support staff is pretty good.

Cons: While it's easy to use for individual/personal profiles, I find it limiting for what it offers to businesses. One thing it does really well is "scheduling" and that's what I use it for. It does seem pricey if you compare it with some of the other tools in the market. There's a lot more that you can get for that.

Pros: Get more done in less time. One of my favorite parts of Buffer is actually the super active community that they offer on Slack. The platform is straightforward to use, does what it should, and does it well. You can schedule a post across as many or as few social networks as you want, re-queue your top performing posts and see analytics in a few short minutes. The content inbox is also amazing, I've added my favorite feeds and blogs, and whenever I find myself stuck for a post, there's always a golden nugget awaiting. If you use their browser extension things get even easier, you can schedule great shares to go out on the fly.

Cons: Honestly, can't think of any substantial cons. Their services have met my needs very well. And they are a lovely crew of people!

Pros: With Buffer, you'll be able to post and schedule social media content on different platforms and networks (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google +) in one click : the good point is that you save time, and that Buffer adapts the content of the published materials to the requirements and habits of each platform (it puts short links on Twitter...). Also you can schedule very easily posts on different platforms; also, there is a nice dashboard showing up metrics such as reach, likes, shares, and it proves very useful to monitor your community management.

Cons: One of the major drawbacks is that in the basic version you cannot post on Instagram on your computer, you have to use the smartphone app, which is not always convenient. Also, this app requires you to accept to share some of your data on Facebook by giving it access to your Facebook pages (by default, it corresponds to all your pages!) and I think that's a bit intrusive.

Pros: Buffer's ease of use is one of my favorite things. The way your scheduled posts are displayed and how easily modified they are, is a dream. Aside from functionality, one of my favorite things about Buffer is their company culture. They are totally transparent in how your subscription money is spent, and all of their contact with you is positive and encouraging. Buffer is really something special.

Cons: I've had continuous problems using Buffer to schedule LinkedIn Pulse articles to share on different social networks. For some reason it does not scrape the header image, so posts go out without an image. I think this has to do with LinkedIn, but the fact that Buffer does not always work flawlessly in this respect--is frustrating.

To have multiple accounts, one must now pay, which has its drawbacks, particularly for the average user who cannot afford all these annual payments now required from so many different companies.

Pros: It makes the hectic task of scheduling posts for multiple social media channels easy and straightforward. The re-buffer feature which lets you share old posts easily is another great feature.

Cons: Buffer should integrate many more tier 2 social media channels to improve the value of their product. At present, only the popular channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. are supported.

Pros: I love that I can schedule as many posts as I need to per day, at times I set, and it posts them - even when I'm not in the office! I love that I can attach images and links. I love that it will asses engagement and recommend when I should post to get the most visibility. I also love that I can connect my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts all in one spot. It makes things much easier!

Cons: I use the free version, so I can only schedule 10 posts at a time. But considering I don't pay for the service, it's still a great deal!

Comments: Love it. Use it.

Pros: Buffer is a company that does one thing, and they do it very well. You can create and schedule social media posts on Twitter, Facebook and more. The best part is that they don't make you schedule every single post -- you can simply create content and add it to your queue or "buffer," and it'll be posted at the best time, or on the schedule that you set for the week.

Cons: It's not good for social media monitoring, just for posting. You can add posts to your Buffer to be posted later, but you'll need another tool in order to do community management and engagement.

Pros: Buffer is the easiest social media automation tool I've ever used and it has plenty of features like re-buffer of previously published posts that makes it stand out. The scheduling is also straightforward and user-friendly.

Cons: Lack of analytics is the only real drawback i see with buffer as of now. But I've heard that they are working on an analytics platform for buffer now.

Pros: Buffer was the first Social Media management tool I used, and I continue to use the free version even though I have begun to use another paid solution. It's easy to use, easy to set up, and very easy to update, particularly while surfing the web.

Cons: Ultimately I moved on to another product (Edgar, but then to Social Pilot) because Buffer was too basic for my needs. I needed a solution that allowed for easy recycling of evergreen content. For this, Edgar is the best (but very expensive), Social Pilot is almost as effective as Edgar but for a fraction of the cost.

Pros: It's a nice piece of software. I like the fact we can schedule many social media posts in advance. It's reliable. The Chrome extension will be useful to grab interesting content that we come across and post it in our social media pages.

Cons: Buffer is unable to do a lot of stuff essential to our social media workflow:
- It doesn't support posting to Instagram business profiles.
- It can't post as Facebook albums or other advanced post types.
- It can't schedule Instagram posts.
- It can't post Instagram stories.

Vendor Response

by Buffer on June 29, 2018

Hi, Prabu, thank you for the kind review. I'm sorry that Buffer has several limitations for your social media use. A tiny good news is that you can now schedule Instagram posts to your Instagram business profiles. I would love for you to try it, and if you have any feedback, feel free to share them with me. Thank you.

Pros: Buffer is a great free tool , I can easily post updates across all of my social medial accounts and
i have the chrome plug in where I can littler
buffer right from the page. SO easy.

Cons: The only thing that I find irritating is that t constantly logs me out of my linked in account. I don't know if this a security factor on linkedIn side but it's annoying.

Pros: It's incredibly easy and simple to use. I love the autoschedule feature, and I especially love that you can reschedule old posts with a few clicks. I like how Buffer will set up the best posting schedule for you based on your engagement and audience.

Cons: As of the time I used it, there was not a bulk scheduling option. That would be a really handy feature.
