December 30, 2022 5.0 Buffer is an excellent tool for coordinating entire SMM strategy and scheduling social media updates. Strongly recommended! Pros Buffer also has an image tool, Pablo, that allows you to simply extract photos, add text if needed, and upload them to your social network postings.New features are always being added. For example, Instagram story publishing was made available. Cons I wish I could link to Instagram more easily. You cannot schedule posts to be published directly on the site. You need to have the Buffer app in order to get a reminder on your phone to manually post at the designated time. I will say that Buffer makes it super easy to manually post from the app. They just copy the text, pull the image into IG and you paste the text and hit Share.Reporting is limited for Instagram, however this is the case for all social media schedulers.Although I like the streamlined look, the interface could use some colours to create better contrast. October 9, 2018 5.0 Even with horrid customer service (my pet peeve). The tool is VERY helpful, the free version allows up to 10 posts per platform (limited to 6 I think), which is a god-send from having to post daily on multiple platforms. Pros I love that every couple weeks, I can generate a bunch of Social Media posts, load them into Buffer.com and not have to think about that task again except to follow up on comments and engagement. Buffer makes this monumental task a breeze! I also love that you can set the timing of the posts as well as re-arrange/scramble the posts for each platform. Super handy so that if you engage with people across those accounts, they can see different posts at different times, which makes it come across more organically. Cons Even though there is the opportunity to format your post for each SM platform, they still don't translate that well. Because IG is the pickiest of the SM platforms, I've used that format as my main guide, but IG posts don't fit the LinkedIn frame, and videos longer than 60 seconds won't post to IG as a video, only as a link. The fact that it easy connects all forms of social media saves a ton of time and effort which is everything in my line of work. Pros Buffer is very user-friendly. Scheduling or rebuffering a post makes sharing across all forms of social media a breeze. The free version is just enough to get you hooked on the program. The first time I used it years ago, I was so impressed with how easy it was to learn and use that I immediately started pushing it to my clients. I love how easy it is to find a post and edit it if need be. Also, if you're just needing to push a post out sooner than usual, you can just hit the "publish now" button which is very handy. Cons I wish the free version offered a little more. However, it's free, so, you can't really complain. I believe the pricing is a bit high. My smaller clients are better able to use it in comparison with my larger clients. My larger clients seem too limited with Buffer, especially for the price so they end up moving to different programs such as Tailwind. However, many of my clients would stick with Buffer if there was more offered for the price they're paying. It seems Buffer has a lot of posts that have random errors on behalf of the software so they just don't ever get posted. This bug can be a little annoying at times. Review Source Camille C. Facebook and now Instagram allows you to schedule the post but you can not schedule a post directly from linkedin. Here buffer comes to the rescue and uploads the posts on your behalf at your given time. Pros Buffer is best for post-scheduling. When you have your company pages on multiple platforms and you want to schedule the posts from one platform, there Buffer will help you a lot. You have to integrate your page account with buffer and enjoy the liberty. Cons My Least liked feature is that I faced this problem after some time my LinkedIn account got disconnected after a while and you have to reconnect the account. They even have developed a variety of services to support you in optimizing your footage and knowledge for social media sites, all of that are backed by intensive research. It's just fantastic. Pros When I started using it 3 years ago it was the best one for the money. Automated publishing on the top social media platform is what it is best for. I also use Hootsuite, but my preferred method of social media management is Buffer, although it does not offer everything I am looking for. If I could afford it, my choice of social media management would be MeetEdgar, but my business is not on that kind of scale yet and I can't afford it. I use Bulk Buffer to upload bulk uploads, but the pain of it is that I have to go back to Buffer and upload images for each status. I don't know how the premium packages work, but on the free account, that is painful. All in all, I recommend Buffer for the person starting out. Pros Easy. Affordable - I'm on the free account. Well known; lots of resources for it like other 3rd party applications. Cons It does not do everything I want it to do, but there are no other social media management tools that do, so you can't hold that against Buffer at this stage. Review Source Richard S. This is great for someone like myself who cannot stand regularly checking all those accounts, much less taking the time to post some frivolous copy or links. Pros My favorite thing about this software is the fact that it will automatically search the internet and find articles and links to post to your social media accounts based on specific criteria and filters which the user provides. You can set some pretty broad topics for Buffer to seek out and yet it still seems to find relevant and appropriate results to post. Cons My least favorite thing about Buffer is the somewhat limited and broad range of topics offered as search criteria. In spite of the fact that the selection is somewhat limited, though, Buffer's AI seems to be pretty advanced, as I have almost always been happy with the items that were posted to my Facebook and/or Twitter accounts. " March 30, 2018 5.0 I use this for personal accounts and for work accounts. Multiple. It brings all of my work and personal things to an easy to use, manageable, mobile platform. It's a huge time saver. Huge. Pros Even with a free account, lining up posts for the week is super easy. All platforms covered (relevant ones anyway) They DO have Instagram integration for business accounts. Customer service is fast. They make it a point to talk to you like they are an old college friend. The longest I have ever waited for a response on Twitter for help was MAYBE 5 minutes. Cons Everything I have ever had a problem with they address right away. Can't think of any cons. For real. Pros I was completely new to the world of managing my online communications across various platforms and I found Buffer on Appsumo. I never regretted using it. It is straightforward to set up, to select your areas of interest and the timings off your communications on your preferred platforms. Cons There is very little that I can say to the detriment of Buffer and if there was one thing then I would prefer to have a better curating tool for some of the auto-generated posts as I have found not all posts are on cue to what I am communicating about. It seems to work EVERYWHERE and 99% of what I share to the social networks is done via Buffer. It is easy to use and their support is outstanding! Cons About the only thing that I do not like about Buffer is that sometimes, for some reason, a post that you have created will fail to send. Now, if your social network connection needs to be refreshed, they will notify you of that. I have never been notified on a failed send and only see those when I go to the actual Buffer dashboard which is infrequently. Cons Raised their price for individual accounts from 10 to 15 a month. Went to the free plan because of it then you lose posting abilities. Software has always had issues with it as each "upgrade" can result in loss of features. I hesitate to upgrade because of this. Sometimes it is best to leave things along. Some of the responses the software give can seem sophomoric, "Oops" comments, how about programming in not allowing times that have gone by instead of the comments? Every third post the app hangs for at least 3 minutes which is very annoying. They had better versions than the current ones as of late. I also love Pablo, their image tool, which is free. I use them both throughout my day every day, for both my social media and for clients. Pros I love Buffer! It allows me to post to social media when I'm nowhere near my phone or computer. It's like the slow cooker for your social media queue. It's easy to use and well worth the money. Cons They took away a feature I really liked called the optimal timing feature, which would help you set the times of your posts based on the most popular days/times to post. When you add in the app and Chrome extension, you come away with the best way to efficiently update your social channels (in my opinion). I really enjoy the post reminders for Instagram too! Something that was not available in previous years on other platforms that I tried. Buffer can provide value for free users, but it is definitely well-worth the monthly subscription. Cons If I had to pick something, it would be that posts to Instagram cannot be published through the software. However, I realize this isn't necessarily something that is possible right now. They are also a great resource and thought leader on the strategy side of things. Cons I mainly use their calendar view, which still has some major bugs and will mess up every so often and they haven't been addressed still since it launched. Pros The innovation. There is a lot of competition in the social media industry and there are a lot of scheduling products like Buffer. But they manage to stay ahead of the curve, always innovating to come up with new features, offerings, and complementing side products. No more worrying about posting on time Cons There aren't many options between the free version and the pro version. A big jump but I believe they're fixing this so that's ruled out.
