Pros Easy to set up and add accounts, easy to obtain articles from the web and great customer services. Buffer have really thought about the design and if steps aren't needed they are removed. For example, when adding a new time to a posting schedule there's no need for a save button, so there isn't one. Just add the new time and you're done. Cons A shame that the feature that suggested the best times to post has been withdrawn. It was useful to be get this guidance and my clients loved the idea. Buffer helps ensure that our content is always posted at the times during which our audience is most likely to see it. This is particularly useful to automate a variety of posts about our upcoming events. Cons I'm not a big fan of the URL shortener. December 8, 2019 3.0 I'm the only user of this software that was in place when I started my position and will be speaking with my supervisor about opportunities to try other services that offer comparable services because it's just not wowing me. Pros This software was in place when I came on to my job and I will be looking to see if we can try out other software, so I don't really have a lot of great things to say about it. It does what other brands do, but has a few kinks that need to be worked out. Cons I have more gripes than positives about Buffer, but to be fair, I haven't tried customer service yet to see if they can be worked out. Sometimes scheduling posts can be a nightmare - they won't show up after you've posted. Or they show up twice. Or the time you've set doesn't save properly. The area to click on some features is very specific, but unhighlited so you have to learn the quirks. When on the calendar view, only the bottom of half of the square will allow you to click. Very tedious. You aren't able to post the same content to multiple accounts easily. I have to repeat the post on each account but I would love to be able to duplicate it to other facebook pages without going through all the motions. Review Source HC Hilary C. Cons Sometimes I do have issues with images showing up in Facebook links I'm sharing through Buffer. There are sometimes issues with posts not posting at the scheduled time. Its so easy to use and new users just need a quick run through the basics and they are using it to their full potential. Cons If there is a problem with your account with buffer you don't tend to find out till a post is produced - then you receive an email. Pros I liked that I could schedule on what sites I wanted to post on simultaneously. It could be a real time saver. Cons I had a lot of difficulty with this scheduler. It wouldn't schedule my post properly. Then when I tried to delete my account, I couldn't. Director Plastics Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great scheduling app but not an end-to-end solution" November 5, 2018 4.0 I've tried my hands at Buffer, but I just ended up going back to Hootsuite. It's just a more well-updated and end-to-end solution covering a lot of things better than Buffer. I'd say I'd use buffer for my basic needs but as you get more hands-on, you're going to need a better tool. Pros Love the ease of scheduling of content on their 'calendar' interface. Unfortunately it's only reserved for the paid version of the software, but totally worth it if ease of use is important to you. Cons No feeds. No proper Instagram support. Wouldn't recommend it for anything beyond basic content scheduling. Long story short, not as diverse as Hootsuite. " September 18, 2017 5.0 Simplified our social media content management strategy. Pros One of the better social media marketing platforms for organizing a comprehensive content strategy. It's extremely simple and intuitive to use and takes little effort to master. Cons The small business pricing plan is a bit much if you're on a tight social media budget, but in my opinion it's worth the price difference in comparison to other similar tools. Do your research on pricing and needs before signing up. Cons I've run into challenges using it to manage Instagram marketing campaigns (didn't queue up posts properly, didn't integrate well with Instagram, but could be more of a function of Instagram's restrictive API than a criticism of Buffer.) Pros I have honestly used a few different social posting platforms and my favorite has been Buffer. It has by far in my opinion the best free option available. They are also always integrating, iterating and making things better based on their user feedback. Cons Cons come down to what is available in the free option, however I still think it is better than others. You don’t have much access to data and analytics in the free version. This is great when managing my clients and scheduling their social media for the week! I used it daily and it has saved me so much time and is helping to keep me on task! I love that it notifies me to post via my watch as well, especially since I don't always hear my phone. I will continue to use the app! Cons I was shown that you can schedule comments as well, however when i went to find it, i couldn't. I like that I am able to edit everything within the same screen. Cons Sometimes my posts do not go through and I do not get notified unless I check each page. However, we don't use it to reach clients. Our goal is to increase the brand awareness of the company. Pros We have a social media strategy at our business. That means that we choose tacticle timeframes for placing posts on social media, such as LinkedIn, facebook and Instagram. Buffer helps us with deploying this strategy on a structured manner. We can prepare all our posts in one day and post them apart from each other on different dates, hours, minutes or seconds. Cons There is actually nothing that I dislike about buffer. Buffer has the goal to make a social media planning easy and customazible and that is exactly why I use it. There is a free version which will serve very basic needs. Other functions are available with increase in subscription cost. Easy and reliable way to schedule social media posts and works across many platforms. For a small business, it fits our needs perfectly. Cons Reporting and analytics are lacking and there are limitations on the platforms you can post on. The Buffer dashboard is weak but it is forgivable for the price of the software. The easy setup and quick post scheduling has been fantastic. They've always stayed committed to great customer service so as Facebook and other networks have changed their APIs buffer has kept up to date and worked without a hitch. Pros What I like most about Buffer is that the integration with each platform just takes a click or two. No complicated integrations just straight forward and easy setup. Cons The analytics that seem to be available are constantly changing, and getting them isn't as intuitive as it could be. It would be nice if the process of seeing the data and performance analytics was more streamlined, if not automatically sent to the user. I even adopted it for my own personal social profiles. Cons I only wish there was a little more meat to the analytics portion of Buffer, but if you don't use it for that, then it's not a big deal.
