### "Helpful for AD Tasks, But Needs Polish"

June 23, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with has been a mix of wins and frustrations. On the positive side, it really cuts down the time spent on everyday AD tasks, bulk updates, user management, and password resets are way easier compared to doing them manually. The reporting features also give good visibility into permissions and activity, which makes audits less painful. That said, the interface feels outdated and clunky, and there’s definitely a learning curve when you’re first getting started. Some of the advanced features take extra effort to set up, and the whole experience doesn’t feel as smooth or modern as it could. Still, once you get past those hurdles, it’s a reliable tool that makes AD management more manageable.

Pros

What I really like about is how much it streamlines the everyday stuff I do in Active Directory. Tasks that used to take a bunch of steps like creating or editing user accounts, resetting passwords, or managing group memberships are now super quick and easy. The bulk management stuff is a huge help; instead of doing everything one by one, I can update multiple users at once without worrying about missing anything. And the reporting features are great. They give a clear picture of user activity and permissions, so audits feel way less stressful.

Cons

the one thing I liked least about is that it can feel a bit cluttered or overwhelming at times. The layout has a lot of options and menus, which can make it a little tricky to find what I need quickly, especially for new users. A more streamlined or modern interface might improve the overall user experience. I think they should improve on user interface design.

### "A must have with more potential"

June 23, 2026

3.0

User + Group management is excellent. Reporting works well. Import funktion is used and works properly

Pros

If NTFS would work much more better it would be the automation in governance + user management. Creating technician groups with different rights work well

Cons

File server management did not do enough, als ntfs governance. Microsoft 365 is not needed because in a mixed environment we do not use

### "Powerful alternative to scripting, reporting, and task automation"

April 2, 2026

4.0

It provides an easier interface for advanced reporting and management of Active Directory and 365 objects - whilst navigating can be cumbersome initially, once you've been through and used the common modules a few times it all starts to fall into place.

Pros

ADManager provides a visual interface for advanced reporting and AD actions through a web console - a lot of functions that might otherwise require some scripting competency and delegating administrative and access rights to users that you mightn't otherwise allow in more secure environments. It combines the functionality of active directory, 365 and powershell modules for AD and task scheduler to achieve advanced reporting & management from a central, easy to navigate place - also allowing for delegation and distribution of admin rights across certain groups/OUs without having to expose underlying infrastructure and services to regional administrators or more technical users, ensuring that everything stays secure and within compliancy rulesets.

Cons

Some functions can be difficult to find and might require searching through sub-menu's. The product also provides an SMTP reporting/notification feature which can leave a lot to be desired. The in built reporting function produces legible and customisable excel sheets/PDFs however this functionality doesn't seem to exist in the same vein when dealing with the email notifications and as such trying to backtrack through these notifications to understand what takes may or may not have run successfully can be quite difficult, especially if like us you have configured many automated jobs to run each night and end up with a bulk set of emails to try and digest the following morning.

### "Reliable and efficient Active Directory management solution"

June 22, 2026

4.0

Our overall experience with ADManager Plus has been positive. We have used the product for approximately two years, and it has helped centralise Active Directory administration, improve visibility, and reduce repetitive manual work. It is particularly useful for managing users and groups, carrying out bulk operations, and producing reports for operational and audit purposes. The solution has been reliable for our requirements, and support has been helpful when assistance was required. Although there is a learning curve for some advanced features, it remains a practical and valuable Active Directory management solution.

Pros

ADManager Plus makes routine Active Directory administration much easier. We particularly value the centralised user and group management, bulk account operations, reporting, and the ability to identify inactive users, locked accounts, password-related issues, and group memberships. The interface reduces the need to perform every task manually through separate Active Directory tools or PowerShell. Its reports are also useful for internal reviews, troubleshooting, and audit preparation.

Cons

Some advanced configurations and reports require time to understand, particularly for new administrators. The interface contains many options, and certain settings could benefit from clearer in-product explanations. Initial permission, workflow, and reporting configurations may also require technical assistance. A more modern interface and simplified documentation would improve the overall user experience.

### "AD Manager Plus is great software and does everything i needed it to do"

June 23, 2026

5.0

Experience has been great. Easy setup, reports work prefect. Once i had the application setup, besides updates to the software, i never have to do anything unless i am looking for a new report. Software just works.

Pros

The ease of initial setup and the reports that can be generated from it are what drove me to want to use it initially. It has so many features that can be used and the setup can be very complex if you really want to dive in, but the nice thing is that it can be done over time. The initial setup to get it reporting and allowing you to make changes from it are very easy and quick. I have had very few issues with it and when I did have to reach out to support, they were very helpful. Quick to respond and answered all my questions. One of the best features of this product is the cost. The ease of initial setup and the reports that can be generated from it are what drove me to want to use it initially. would say the only issue I have with any of the products is the amount of RAM that it takes to run the applications, but at least before, that was cheap.

### "Worth the money!"

June 22, 2026

5.0

It was one of the first pieces of software I bought when starting in my current position. The simplicity it added to my tasks was more than worth it, especially with some of the rare and bulk jobs where I could set policy and templates.

Pros

Simplicity of management of the AD environment. Being able to cover all areas in a friendly UI is significant. Also, it saves me, as the administrator, time in that I can have other users manage password resets and other simple tasks for individual accounts, while I manage more in depth tasks and processes for the AD cycle. Customer support is responsive and I get good value for how much time it saves me.

Cons

The amount of policies that sound the same and overlap when it comes to the automation. Some things are similarly named and some of the fields within the automation and Workflow have some similar options.

### "Streamlines Active Directory management and delegation without complex scripting"

June 22, 2026

5.0

ADManager Plus bridges the gap between complex PowerShell scripting and everyday identity management. It significantly reduces the burden on senior infrastructure/sysadmin teams by providing a safe, audited environment for helpdesk delegation. If you are managing multiple domains or hundreds of user changes weekly, the time savings alone justify the implementation

Pros

Effortless Delegation: It allows us to securely delegate routine AD tasks (like user onboarding, password resets, and account unlocking) to helpdesk staff or non-technical teams without granting them direct domain admin rights. Bulk Management & Automation: The ability to perform bulk modifications using CSV imports saves an immense amount of time during large-scale onboarding or structural changes. Out-of-the-Box Reporting: The built-in reporting is highly detailed, making it easy to quickly pull compliance audits for inactive users, expired passwords, or nested group memberships.

Cons

UI Customization: The web interface is highly functional but can feel slightly dated in certain modules, and customizing the dashboard layouts could be more intuitive. Licensing Model: The licensing tiers can scale up quickly depending on the number of helpdesk technicians and domains you need to manage.

### "Efficient and Flexible Active Directory Management at Scale"

May 6, 2026

5.0

Overall, it’s a solid and reliable Active Directory management tool that improves efficiency and visibility, especially in larger or hybrid environments, with a manageable learning curve.

Pros

The centralized Active Directory management and bulk user operations save a significant amount of admin time. Reporting and delegation are particularly strong for day‑to‑day AD tasks.

Cons

The interface can feel dated and overwhelming at first, and some advanced features require careful role and permission tuning.

### "Transformed our way of handling users in the organization"

April 22, 2025

4.0

Pros

The ability to implement several features and options available with ADManager Plus, especially the Access Certification Campaign, proved to be a major boon for our company. It has enabled us to schedule groups for the periodic review of user access rights regarding internal policies and external requirements such as GDPR.

Cons

When implementing our solution, we encountered some issues with the integration of some tools into the HR system due to weak support of the API. It made it necessary to use manual methods in syncing user data, which was quite tedious to perform.

### "Simplified workflow automation for IT administrators"

April 26, 2025

4.0

Pros

ADManager Plus’s strength I found the most useful was the built-in workflows for the repetitive processes like user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access certifications. I could design approval workflows that translated our workflows perfectly thus reducing the back-and-forth in e-mails, significantly enhancing the account management workflows.

Cons

Something that the user found annoying is that the role is not changed dynamically when some attributes are modified. There was a concern that once a user profile changed a group was not adjusted to another automatically thereby creating some gaps.

### "ManageEngine ADManager Plus"

May 19, 2025

5.0

For managing and reporting on Microsoft AD, exchange, and google workspace it is fantastic. Really like the user provisioning functions and the compliance with GDPR and HIPAA is of great value to us. Highly recommended.

Pros

We do a lot of reporting for our customers so the automation of admin tasks and repetitive processes with no scripting is really good providing time savings.

Cons

Could be a bit more user friendly but once you get to know the workflows it is fine. Provides a nice GUI though to automate admin tasks which is very helpful.

Pros

One of the major benefits I observed while using ADManager Plus was how it provided me with automation of various AD tasks like user management. There was relative ease in managing user account especially due to the predefined templates and the availability of the bulk operation.

Cons

I had to shift to the use of the browser version to be able to access all the available options.

### "Well made product"

March 13, 2023

4.0

All in all, this product is really well made and it will facilitate your management of the Azure environment in a professional way, I would recommend using it.

Pros

The most important feature of this product is having the ability to do bulk user management and file server permission management.

Cons

The Professional tier is a little expensive compared to the standard tier but other than that I don't see anything else.

### "ADManager+ - excellent integration with helpdesk"

May 18, 2021

5.0

We have introduced a lot of automation from helpdesk using the API. This allows L1 technicians to perform functions they otherwise would not have access to in a secure manner.

Pros

Using this app to create new user accounts - it uses templates which can set a lot of changeable default field values, based on various criteria (such as department). We use the API to automate a lot of processes from our helpdesk software so we can click a button on a ticket and the action can place users in AD groups for example for various permissions (after approval). We don't even need to log into the app to do this. We also use the API to auto-disable user accounts and add expiry dates to leavers from info taken automatically from our payroll system. The auditing reports are great as we can easily find out who changed something and when.

Cons

It's not ideal for bulk technician management - sometimes adding one OU to multiple users can result in replacing the permission instead of adding it. The MFA option to remember the code for 180 days simply doesn't work (it asks for the code every day but it's not a showstopper).

### "We purchased ADManager Plus in early 2015 and use it extensively with 125 techs in over 60 countries"

May 9, 2018

5.0

Pros

Automation and reporting functions let us improve our service level but spend less time doing routine tasks. Totally granular permission assignment capability. Rules-based templates, very customizable. Continually improving and adding new features. And there are frequent free online training sessions that improve our knowledge of the product's capabilities. Their tech support is very good to work with, very quick to respond.

Cons

The only problem I can think of is getting an invoice from Manage Engine in the form needed by our finance department so we could pay the maintenance bill.

### "The software makes managing 4 separate AD domains easy. "

April 11, 2018

5.0

Pros

Reporting functionality makes it easy to find which tech is responsible for changes made across all the location and domain while not having to give elevated privileges and accounts on each domain.

Cons

Support is a little lacking in that there is not a way to track your open tickets and trying to get ahold of the tech you previously worked with is just not possible most of the time.
