Director Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Helpful to diagnose speed" December 2, 2019 5.0 I signed up for high speed internet. I was supposed to get 300 Mbps but was only getting 85 to 100. Every time the internet company ran their diagnoses they said that everything was fine from their end. I had our company tech support person spend over 3 hours on the phone with the provider but they were unable to solve the problem. They finally suggested Ping Plotter so they could do an analysis. I ran Ping Plotter for over 48 hours and then sent them the link and they could see exactly where the slow down happened. I have to run it a second time now with a direct connection instead of through the wireless router to insure that the brand new router is not the probelm. Pros Ping Plotter helped the internet provider diagnose what was wrong with my speed. Cons The cost is prohibitive for a one time diagnosis. Review Source ND Nikos D. My primary use case is to look for internet related issues if I am experiencing issues gaming and using the data when communicating the issues to my ISP. Cons I really wish there was a buy once option and not only subscriptions. Pros This tool lets you have a graphic and historic view of ICMP packets travelling between to points in your network, it has a really smooth interface Cons Free version can be very limited, you have to purchase the tool to get all the historic and graph exports you might need to share evidences. We come often to the point where we have to proof the quality of a WAN link for VOIP. Pingplotter seems to be a product that fits for this purposes.aside former problem to learn how to use it. We..as a small company..can not make to money form our customers to pay every month for the use of the product. A version that we can buy and find out the quality of am WAN connection for VOIP would be great. May be you can help us to find it and come back on our email Pros Pingplotter is easy to use. The first steps are very simple and mostly self explaining. I have used it to check the quality of different WAN links. Cons When I tried to go deeper and find more details about the results of the pinigs on the WAN link I had difficulties to find out what I can find and how to find it. If you need to watch your internet connections, this is an easy way to do it. Pros We had an issue where we had a connection at a client that kept going down. We had a hard time convincing them the issue was their equipment and not ours. Once we installed this, we were able to show them their gear vs. our gear to prove it was their stuff not working correctly. Cons I really didn't run into any issues while running this. Although the ICMP protocol can cause problems in some intermediate router, it gives us an overview of the path traveled by the packet. In internal LAN it helps us to have an updated view of the status of the different monitored hosts. In short, it is an essential tool to control the network. Pros Easy of use and install. In a few minutes you can run it and get fresh results that help you to understand possible networks issues. Cons ICMP is not the best protocol to check the trace route from end-to-end. Pros I am working on enhancing our global network performance and needed network performance measuring and dashboard tool. PingPlotter offers excellent features for this use and provides instinct dashboard. Auto-save option and various options for dashboard was useful. Cons Data that I can export is limited to network latency, although the dashboard shows jitter and packet loss.
