November 7, 2017 5.0 Got my internet connection straightened out and now I have consistent internet connectivity and the internet provider had to come and fix the problem instead of blaming it on my hardware. Pros It's easy to use. The graphics are great--you can see where and what the problem is. I like the fact that it will run as long as the computer is turned on. There is no need to refresh to have the program keep tracking the connection. I was able to download the graphs and send them to my internet company so that they could see for themselves that there was a problem with their side of the internet. When I started taking my students networking courses, one of the first questions on my mind was "what tool would be used in teaching network delay measurement" and truly, pingplotter was, and is an unquestionable answer. Graph of ping plot is very straightforward and easy to show to people that might not be very familiar. I use this software primarily for troubleshooting ISP issues to show the jitter and/or packet loss I'm dealing with since a lot of times you can't replicate it when getting support from a service provider. Cons Nothing in terms of function really set me off. I know this tool is worth the money it sells for but would like for them to change how the trial works. I'd like to see it extended or have limited features once it expires. Another options would be to allow users who use it rarely to have X amount of uses per month or something similar. December 27, 2017 5.0 Pros Love that we are able to track performance in different weather conditions. We had wind gusts of up to 50 mph, and was able to actually watch how our radios handled it. Cons Still don't fully understand it, but understand well enough to know when we have a problem. I have only read half of the manual too. I figure we are on our way to purchasing ping plotter but being a not-for-profit, just have to wait until the money is right.
