### "A robust backup management solution with an easy-to-use interface."

August 13, 2024

5.0

Overall, my experience with MSP360 Managed Backup has been quite positive. It's a solid, dependable solution that strikes a good balance between functionality and user-friendliness. The platform does exactly what it promises - manages backups efficiently without overwhelming you with complexity. While there's room for improvement in areas like restore speed, it generally meets expectations. It may not be revolutionary, but it's certainly a competent and reliable tool. For businesses looking for a straightforward, effective backup management solution, MSP360 is definitely worth considering. It's been a consistent performer in my experience, handling the crucial task of data backup with minimal hassle.

Pros

The best thing about MSP360 Managed Backup, for me, was how user-friendly it was. I loved that I could easily set it up with different cloud storage services without any fuss. It made managing my backups a breeze - saved me loads of time and headaches. Plus, the interface was so straightforward that I didn't need to be a tech wizard to figure it out.

Cons

The main drawback I found was that restorations could sometimes be sluggish, particularly when dealing with large amounts of data. It's worth noting that this isn't entirely MSP360's fault, since they don't actually store the data themselves - that's handled by whatever cloud storage provider you're using. Still, it'd be great if they could find a way to optimize the recovery process on their end. Maybe they could streamline how they interface with different cloud services or something. It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but faster restore times would definitely be a welcome improvement.

Reason for choosing MSP360 Backup

We chose MSP360 Managed Backup over Dropsuite Email Backup because it offered a more comprehensive solution that goes beyond just email backup. MSP360’s flexibility in supporting multiple storage options and its competitive pricing were also key factors in our decision. Additionally, the intuitive interface and robust support provided by MSP360 made it a better fit for our organization’s needs

### "Flexible and Cost-Effective Backup Solution"

March 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, MSP360 Backup provides a solid and flexible backup solution, particularly for environments that need control over storage destinations and cost. Its ability to integrate with multiple cloud providers and support a range of backup types makes it well-suited for small to mid-sized businesses and IT-managed environments. The platform performs reliably for routine backups, and the centralized management console is useful for overseeing multiple systems. Deployment is straightforward once the architecture is understood, and the encryption and security options are strong. However, the experience is somewhat impacted by occasional complexity during setup. Troubleshooting can also take longer than expected due to vague error messages and logs. In summary, it is a dependable and cost-effective backup solution with strong flexibility. Still, it requires a moderate level of technical familiarity to manage efficiently if you don't have experience with any backup software.

Pros

The ease of setup and configuration. Backups and restores are simple. Flexible backup options (file-level, image-based, cloud, hybrid). Integration with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Wasabi, Backblaze), allowing cost control and storage choices. Reliable and consistent backups with good scheduling and retention policies. Granular restore capabilities (individual files, full systems, point-in-time recovery). Encryption support (in-transit and at-rest). Reasonable licensing model compared to many enterprise backup solutions. Support for Windows Server, workstations, and virtual environments (e.g., Hyper-V) Easy deployment and agent-based setup for endpoints.

Cons

The restore process can be slower than expected, particularly for large image-based backups. Error messages and logging are sometimes unclear, making troubleshooting more difficult. Licensing structure can become confusing when mixing backup types, endpoints, and add-ons.

### "They Got Your Back Up!"

August 14, 2024

I've been with MSP360 for over 10 years. Our backup as a service offering wouldn't be possible without MSP360. The margins in this industry are razor thin and the competition is fierce. You need them on your team.

Pros

Their platform is rock solid. So many new features, always new being added and their support is amazing.

Cons

You do need to have some experience with cloud backup services and understanding of different OS platforms to maneuver the setup. Overall, once you get the hang of where everything is, it gets easier.

### "Fantastic -- The service is exactly what it should be."

August 26, 2024

5.0

I was previously a Carbonite partner, and MSP360 Managed backup is an absolute breath of fresh air. It works, it is easily managed, the website is fantastic. I can easily restore, edit the backup scheme, and more from the website-- which is very responsive. The onboarding process was a cinch, the support is fantastic (not that I need it often). The pricing is more than fair, and gives you a lot of choice between different storage platforms. I personally use Backblaze B2, and it works so, so well.

Pros

Price, ease of use, transparency, speed, and support are all top-notch.

Cons

Honestly, I cannot fault this at all. Like anything that costs money, it could always be cheaper... but the price is extremely good.

### "Flexible and Powerful Backup Solution for Advanced Users"

April 30, 2025

4.0

MSP360 has been a dependable solution in our MSP toolkit. It's particularly great for customers who already have preferred cloud storage or want control over backup destinations. While not as "plug-and-play" as other options, the flexibility it provides is unmatched when tailored properly

Pros

MSP360 offers a flexible, powerful backup platform with support for local, cloud, and hybrid storage. It's highly customizable, supports a wide range of storage providers (AWS, Wasabi, Backblaze, etc.), and has detailed job logs and reporting. The granular restore options and image-based backup are also strong points.

Cons

The interface can feel outdated and overwhelming for new users. Remote management through the web console (especially in legacy versions) lacks polish. Some errors can be cryptic and require deep digging.

### "Extremely customisable and reliable"

September 7, 2022

5.0

We have been using it for 5+ years and would have stayed if it wasn't good enough for our clients. It's also great to be able to brand the installation client for a professional look.

Pros

It is very easy to use and offers a wide range of configuration options. Initial setup is quick and the costs are reasonable. It's also especially good to be able to pick multiple Cloud storage providers as well as having a local backup to NAS as an option.

Cons

Some of the monitoring reports could be expanded upon, and also some of the Restore filters to enable to browse/search certain archived files could be improved.

Reason for choosing MSP360 Backup

Ability to brand and also customisation of cloud storage providers.

### "Mostly works, a few caveats"

September 6, 2022

4.0

Works well enough for most things except immutability

Pros

Cheaply and reliably encrypts and ships backups to Amazon for long-term storage as an LTO tape alternative. Once setup, it's pretty set-and-forget.

Cons

Automation around the product is somewhat difficult (e.g., automating ad-hoc restores from Rundeck). Also, immutable storage is complicated when you have a simple use-case, such as needing to backup SQL database backup files like transaction logs. It's not just a toggle-switch.

Easier to train other users on

### "My experiencie"

August 20, 2024

4.0

Overall, MSP360 Managed Backup delivers a technically robust solution with extensive multi-platform compatibility and flexible cloud storage integration. It supports advanced features like block-level backup, AES-256 encryption, and granular file versioning, providing strong data protection. Despite its steep learning curve during initial deployment and somewhat limited reporting capabilities, the software excels in scalability and efficiency. Its pay-as-you-go model, while potentially complex, offers cost-effective scalability, making it a reliable tool for managed service providers and businesses with diverse IT environments.

Pros

Compatible with various cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Cons

The initial configuration can be challenging for new users

### "Server Backup: The best and most flexible option despite some issues"

November 25, 2017

5.0

Pros

I'm focusing this review on the Server Backup edition of CB backup. It's incredibly flexible in terms of configuration and storage options. It will work with just about any cloud provider that you might need, including Backblaze B2. The interface is pretty good , at least compared to the competition. It's got some quirky elements, but I've been able to figure out how to do most things pretty easily. Basically, if you want to choose your storage provider separately and are looking for a tool to access that storage, that can work with different providers and offers multiple backup sets, it seems like the best choice, at least in this price range. The server backup edition offers OS backup, system state backup and bare metal backup restore, which is really nice. I'm using it on WHS2011, where I've previously had to cobble together a mix of Windows server backup and 3rd party options. So far it looks like I'll be able to do it all with Cloudberry which is great, and in addition, combine local and cloud backup flexibly.

Cons

Backup version control could be improved. I've used crashplan in the past, which has abandoned its consumer market - but crashplan had excellent control of version saving so you could save more recent versions and less older versions - while always retaining some older backups in case you need to do a restore from an older period. Hopefully, CB will improve version control. Another issue for me is the business model. I'm not thrilled that I need a license for every single machine I want to backup - but the real kicker is that there is a 1TB limit on cloud storage with all the editions except the very expensive Ultimate edition. This is surprising at first because Cloudberry is not providing the storage! It is a purely arbitrary limitation that has nothing to do with software capabilities. These days, with large media files, 1 TB is not so large. You really have to search the website to even find this out - it's not described in the product specs. So $29 for the basic desktop version - but if you want to backup all those movies and music and home videos - the price goes up by 10x. On the other hand, they seem to be willing to release that limitation in exchange for a review, so that's okay. The progress bars are not very helpful - you can't really see how much is waiting to be backed up and it's difficult to see how much is currently in the backup storage. Beyond that major issue, I've run into some glitches - but nothing that keeps me from using the software.

### "MSP360 a backup solution for MSPs and Corporations"

December 20, 2022

5.0

Very happy overall. MSP360 allows us to manage a centralized SaaS backup and recovery platform. All jobs are managed from a central console. We can use multiple storage providers for redundancy and can manage our own encryption keys.

Pros

For us, MSP360 checks all the boxes. One of the few providers that support connecting to third-party storage providers like BackBlaze B2, Amazon S3, MS Azure, Drive E2, etc. They offer storage, but it is not required. They allow customers to create and manage their encryption keys. Multiple backups options, retentions, and schedules are supported. Additionally, support is very responsive.

Cons

The licensing was convoluted to get volume discounts in the past, but they have fixed those issues. The recent addition of FFI backups requires support to enable it on some third-party S3 buckets.

### "MSP360 the easiest and safest way to make computer backups"

June 7, 2022

5.0

We needed to back up all the computers in the office, without the need to hire outside help, so we purchased this software which turned out to be very good, easy to use and extremely secure with all the backups it backs up. A very efficient software to keep your files backup safe. It is also very easy to use without the need to hire external companies to do the job. The best of all is that if there is any doubt or inconvenience, the technical service will always be ready to solve it.

Pros

It has a great backup capacity, since we were able to make backup copies of each computer in the company and although it took a long time to do it, due to the amount of information, it did not present any kind of inconvenience. The email alerts are very efficient, because they warn us if there is any problem in any of the machines. The technical support provided good support in the steps where we did not know how to perform any action when running the software.

Cons

I had some errors when installing the software and some backups, but the technical support was very efficient in helping us with that. The prices are cheap if you look month to month, but you have to pay a whole year in advance, which is a considerable expense for some companies, especially start-ups.

### "Reliable, cosy UI solution for home/small business backup"

July 11, 2021

5.0

I spent a plenty of time comparing a lot of software, trying trial and free versions, looking for a solution that'd help me complete my home/small business/hobbyist backup. As a photographer I have to manage huge amount of image files with RAW data, these are quite bulky and ravenous in term of HDD space used, nevertheless quite important for me to save and have a backup of it. However, in most software solution I've been testing I was rarely satisfied, whether it's been the lack of usability, and mostly about the amount of the software maintain the speed of connection and the bandwidth while backing up. Hopefully, eventually I ran across MSP360 software and surprisingly had a delightful experience with it right away. Especially I was happy enough about the speed and stability of bandwidth wile backing up. It seems due to multithreading engine it can retain very high speed of upload, in fact as high as I hardly ever had while being used other upload methods. It's important for me as I have a lot of data to be backed up and can't afford spending much time for it, though need rely on it's outcome. So, in conclusion, I would certainly recommend the software as such thing that helped me and resolved my issues.

Pros

Then, I ran across MSP360 software and had a good experience with it. I was happy about the speed and stability of bandwidth wile backing up.

Cons

Now I still use trial free version and plan to buy it as I have to backup more without limits of free version and it's all ok by this time it suits my needs completely
