Partner Internet Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Best automatic file backup service that you don't need to pay for monthly" May 8, 2018 5.0 Pros Many years ago I purchased CloudBerry Backup as a way to backup my files to AWS without paying a high monthly fee. I'm glad they seem to be doing great after all these years because the product has been rock solid. I've even upgraded a few times when I didn't HAVE to because they have been so helpful. CloudBerry saved me a few times so I'm a fan for sure. Cons It's a little more work to setup and there are so many features that you can get a little lost in them. Full history so you can see what has been backed up to give peace of mind. Reports when backups have problems. Using this software along with Backblaze B2 storage to replace CrashPlan Home which has been discontinued. This application is better - less clunky than CP. Does the same job just better. Cons There's nothing negative to say really. It does what it promises to do. I guess if I had to be critical then when you want to add another folder to the backup plan then you have to go through the wizard to modify the plan so quite a few clicks. It has built in remote desktop support tool. Strongly recommended. Pros It is easy to use and implement. You can create all type of backups also help your client via remote desktop. Cons It needs license for every type of backup sources separately. There is no on-premise solution, you have to use a machine as a gateway to reach your virtual environment. CloudBerry has this and many more cloud providers. In windows it starts as a system service for all the users, which makes it great if you want to create backup for more than one user. For Google Drive it is also much faster than Google's cloud sync and backup client. Cons No issues so far. It would be great if it was also integrated with photos specific providers (Google Photos, flickr, Amazon Prime Photos), but this is more like a feature request than a con. Review Source TB Thomas B. Managing backups and restores is quite easy and straightforward. I decided for this solution as I have AES256 bit encryption already at the endpoint. Additionally there is a wide variety of supported cloud-providers including options with cold or cool storage accounts. Very important: Customer support is quick and helpful! Cons When changing a single Option in plans (jobs), you have to click through all of the assistant's Windows. A new design with direct option blades or tabs and a single finish-button would be nice. Pros I like that Cloudberry supports Backblaze. I feel that some of the other products in this category do not support Backblaze. i was looking for a home enterprise solution which Cloudberry was able to provide with Backblaze. I like the fact you can use multiple cloud providers so your important data can be held in multiple locations for resilience. Use the PRO version for end-to-end encryption. Being able to define a versioning/retention plan is very useful. Cons You need a bit of IT knowledge to set it up (not as easy as CrashPlan or BackBlaze\*. N.B. although BackBlaze was easy to setup it isn't granular enough for my needs). Can't comment on Tech Support as not had to use them but Customer Service are quick to respond. The ability to restore a backup to an AWS EC2 instance is awesome. Cons Not much at all. Notification system can be a bit noisy, but I'm sure there is a way to configure it to be less so. It offers great compatibility for a large number of cloud service providers. It also, allows for Trust know one encryption for those cloud providers. Cons The one additional protocol type I wish it would support natively is WebDAV. Works on both windows and OSX (as well as other platforms I'm not using currently). Allows me to both compress and encrypt the data to reduce transfer & storage costs, and protect my data. Pros I really appreciate the ability to leverage myarchival cloud storage account for backup on both my Windows and OS X machines Cons To browse my backups, rather than just using them to restore from, I needed to also purchase the CloudBerry Drive product.
