May 28, 2019 4.0 Pros Namely recently added a mass time card edit feature that is wildly helpful when needing to do bulk time card edits. Namely shares your employee's birthdays and work anniversaries on the main page so you will never miss an important date! Cons Namely does everything we need it to do, no cons here. It is responsive, and is flexible in its ability to produce reports. Running payroll is quite easy, and the individual paystubs are among the clearest I've seen on any platform. Cons The flexibility in customizing certain menu views is limited. The creation of workflows was time-consuming and not intuitive. The e-signature function, while useful, is confusing in that when employees receive an email notifying them that they are to approve something, the email comes from an email address of an administrator, not from the person who is requesting the approval. They do not even have a report that shows who is on PTO or sick today or any given day. Cons Namely changed employees tax jurisdictions for half of the employees to cover a payroll error. Terrible customer service. Escalated multiple software and service issues up to executive management and owner just to here that they do not mind if I choose another company and leave namely. I can ask for time off, view pay stubs, apply for benefits, thank coworkers, etc. all from one place. Pros I like that I can go to one site for everything job related. Whether it is to check a pay stub, ask for time off, find out my coworkers birthday, track my goals, view my benefits, check my sick time accrued, etc., Namely can provide what I need. Cons I think organization of contacts could be better, but I have not explored the software in depth to see if that is an option available, or it could be the company not providing access. Pros We use this as our primary HR service. Does a good job having performance reviews, objectives, paychecks and integrating other services with their platform Cons It would be nice if they can connect with more apps other than a handful of services like Greenhouse. For medium to larger I would shop elsewhere. Pros Some of the functionality is super easy once you get the hang of it. Cons Reports are not intuitive. This functionality can be tricky. We had to begin our open enrollment 1 month later than expected. The benefit team (Brokers) were great! They were in constant communication with us, and assured us that everything would be taken care of. Well, we ended up losing our projected benefit plan. We then had another plan that was not well off like the one we wanted, but we needed something to give to our employees. This is where the Namely benefits team dropped the ball. Communication slowly dimished and our benefits in Namely never changed from the original to the present. To make matters worse, one of our Brokers from Namely was arrogant, unqualified, and attitude-prone. She made our relationship with Namely a terrible experience. We no longer wanted to rely on the benefits team for the mere fact that we didn't want to deal with her. Here's the best part about Namely's benefit team (sarcasm) - the unpleasant Broker had a subordinate who went into our dental carrier's website and took away one of our employees benefits! Yes, that's right! She deleted the dental benefits without speaking to us beforehand. That is extremely unprofessional. That employee ended up going to his dental provider and was denied for not having dental insurance. Cons Had to constantly look at the user guides. The user guides were not detailed enough. Customizable enough to use for yearly reviews. Kinda cute that you can send "praise" and messages to your co-workers. Cons Pretty simplistic, in my opinion. It's bare bones, and while intuitive, only digitizes what could easily be accomplished with a paper form. I see the value in that, but that can be easily recreated. November 17, 2016 4.0 I am the HR Generalist at my company and have been working with Namely for a little over a year now. While I'm not able to speak to the implementation process, I can give some feedback on the day-to-day use of the system. In the past year, I have seen Namely make tremendous product improvements. The system absolutely has it's nuances, but their customer support team is incredibly receptive and responsive to the needs of their clients. They really listen to feedback which is reflected in the product enhancements they continue to make. The HRIS side of the product has great flexibility and is very user friendly. It has been an invaluable tool in keeping our multiple office locations connected. Employees are able to post pictures and announcements which encourages a lot of engagement. We have been able to customize according to our needs which has been so helpful in managing the information we need to capture. We also use the performance management system for our performance review process and while I can't speak to the administration of this process since I do not currently oversee it, our employees have found this process to be seamless. The payroll side of the product has a ton of reporting that is straight forward and easy to read. Payroll and benefits are administered without difficulty- our open enrollment was much more manageable with the use of their benefits portal. As startup, we are always evolving. Thankfully, Namely's team has been there to cater to our changing needs. I would say that their customer support is their greatest asset. I don't know what I would do without our consultant and the vast amount of resources Namely provides clients! October 1, 2018 5.0 Pros My company recently switched to Namely and we are really liking it. Not only does our team run payroll and benefits through Namely, we are able to send out monthly/quarterly surveys and keep track of all of our employee's HR information. Cons I would say that the only negative thing I have to say about Namely is that it was quite a learning curve getting used to the platform. I think that Namely has so many capabilities that their platform can seem a bit daunting, but after learning how to properly use everything, it's great! Waste of money if you have more than 10 employees. Pros Employees love the Facebook-like, social aspect to this product. It's easy to post and search for people. Cons Namely is a software that should stick at simple employee tracking and HR tool. The fact that Namely handles taxes and no one is fit to understand taxes on the customer support team extremely concerns me. They have filed incorrectly, in some cases double filed. Pros The software if functional with many options . Cons You can never get an support, answers, or solutions to urgent issues such as Namely back end payroll system errors. Errors that cost the company thousand of dollars. The customer support teams have one excuse after another. They hold you off with emails stating they are working on the problems only after you send several emails and leave many phone messages for follow up. Pros We shifted from another product to Namely and we are really happy with their service. Although they lack some features their support is something they deserve a clap for! Also we really liked the UI and feature set. A good tool to manage HR and make the work of HR manager more easy. Namely handles all the data and the report generation is also great. Cons The UI hangs some time and our browser (Chrome) needs to be restarted to work again. The integration process was great and our implementation manager for Namely HRIS was fantastic. Cons Namely time is very basic and hard to use. The scheduling feature is very basic and time consuming. In addition, the integration between the Namely systems don't exist at all. Simple information needs to be entered into both systems and the integration capabilities are very basic. Switching to this system was supposed to cut down on every day HR/admin work, however, now she just spends her time making the programs match. Basic integrations like making an employee inactive doesn't even exist, you have to do it first in Namely HRIS then go to Namely Time and do it again. For employee hours to feed back into Namely HRIS, you have to pull a report out of Namely Time and import it back into Namely HRIS. I was promised seamless integration by our sales rep and I feel very mislead. The Namely HRIS application is completely different from the Namely Time application and it's different sign-ons. The payroll, HRIS, and benefits functionality is very good. Cons The customer support has been uneven at times, and they recently restructured to a pod support team structure. Cons The interface leaves a lot to be desired and the ability to report out on certain fields is limited and clunky. Creating reports is more difficult than it should be and certainly is compared to other HRIS vendors. Namely also doesn't have a robust recognition or performance portal that allows for badges, feedback to be shared, etc. for enhancing PM forms.
