Cons Still some features that don't integrate between the two systems - HRIS and payroll but they have been making updates to integrate certain features. It has increased employee engagement and is really easy to use. The feed on the dashboard is great for people to remember birthdays or work anniversaries and we use it to share pictures from events as well. Also, employees can change their own address and banking information without getting HR involved! Unless you have a dedicated resource to roll-out this platform, be very prepared for late nights stuck on hold to the Customer Service Team, who will only take a message in any case. Pros To a degree, the intuitive nature of Namely is its saving grace. Cons The Customer Service, Account Management and so far - every interaction has been lack-luster. Namely is constantly updating the system and releasing new features. The support team is top notch and is always happy to help in anyway they can. Namely may be missing some features or some may need to be updated, but the interfaces and the support plus the fact that they are dedicated to releasing features that are requested really make it a top HRIS system. Pros Easy to use for Employees, Managers, and Admins. The interfaces are elegant, clean, and very intuitive. The ability to automate tasks or delegate tasks that used to be a burden has freed up time for Managers and HR admins. Having everything all in one creates an easy experience for our employees. The ability to use the Open API allowed us to automate our employee data flow out to different parts of the company and keep our systems all in sync. Cons Missing some features you might get from an older HRIS, Payroll, or Benefit system. While the time feature allows a lot of customization, it can be burdensome to use and navigate. This is incredible from not only a value (cost) standpoint, but also from a ease-of-use for HR admins and employees standpoint. This is a product that we see enabling us to grow because of ability to grow with our workforce. The icing on the cake? Namely treats us like we're their only customer. Customer support is quick, proactive, and responsive. Pros Namely has found a way to integrate a number of key resources for employees into a format that is great for a small-and-growing company. While large enterprise software offers all the bells and whistles, that’s not what every company needs. Namely’s high-touch client success team is also a huge asset, especially when handling payroll. Cons The only thing I could say as a con or a dislike is that they haven’t built an ATS and a learning portal! I know, I know they’re just getting started. And our employees enjoy the social feed area as well. The site is flexible, easy to use and we get wonderful support from our Namely team! Pros I mostly love being able to have HR, benefits and payroll information all in one spot! Of course Namely is not the only program which can handle these processes, but I do find Namely very flexible and capable of handling all our needs. Cons We may be unique, but we do value anonymity in our review process. I do wish the review program settings could be set at the company level so that all managers could initiate the process in the same manner. without my needing to ensure it is handled in the same way each time. Especially when trying to connect with teams only through digital means, it helps everyone stay connected and aware of each other's happenings. Pros One of my favorite aspects of this tool, which helps organize a lot of information related to our organization, is that is has a public message board (not unlike a social media timeline). This allows us to give shout-outs to teams and individuals and give updates to everyone. It helps unite our team and get a better understanding of the organization as a whole. We also use this for a variety of HR info and processes which helps streamline a good amount of questions and troubleshooting. Cons We have integrated Namely with a time tracking tool. Pros I know anything employment related is usually found in Namely, and it's my first stop for all things that I would normally ask HR about like PTO, sick days, policies, benefits details, parking permit infor, forms, pay stubs, etc. It's convenient and intuitive. Cons there are two ways to submit PTO requests and one of them doesn't work for me, but that's a minor bug. For the most part (as a user) it's a helpful portal. Review Source Laura P. October 27, 2015 5.0 We implemented Namely at SnapRetail in January of this year and never looked back. We were coming from an outdated payroll platform and a myriad of manual processes surrounding employee HR data, benefits, PTO tracking, etc etc. From day one, we saw a huge ROI in the automation of PTO and payroll. The second stage was benefits administration which we are finalizing for our open enrollment process happening within the next 30 days. Overall, Namely has far exceeded our expectations, both from an HR perspective (ie our back office staff) and our employees. Pros The biggest pro to Namely for us is the automation of onboarding/terminations/employee changes that flow directly to payroll. This removes so many manual steps which helps to minimize errors. Cons Namely still has some items to automate through their onboarding processes (allowing new hires to complete tax forms and direct deposit information online) but aside from there, we haven't run into any negative aspects of the product. Pros The Pros I like about Namely is how easy it is for employees to use to ask time off or get resources for benefits and use as a mini social media platform for staff to encourage anniversaries and birthday recognition. We have a small administrative team and I am new to HR. Namely has provided us with a huge opportunity to start out with great employee compliance, structure, and utilization of forward thinking technology. Pros It's inclusivity of employee information; it's features save time and help with company compliance. It helps new employees have a platform when working remotely, and helps HR keep up with remote employees. Namely is always adding new features based on client feedback and everyone at Namely is a pleasure to work with. Cons The timesheets aren't my favorite, but they get the job done and do offer a few different options. Namely is working on improvements to the things I dislike about them. I'm an finance team worker and using it on a daily basis. Also, it 's easy to find what I need. Exporting reports is simple. Cons I'm not operating the product so I'm not familiar if there is a possibility for it, but I think there should be more fields or at least a possibility to add a field according to the company's needs. Being named "owner" of this product for our company I was afraid; the previous HRIS took me so long to learn and now i had to be able to answer all sorts of questions for our employees. Namely was so easy to learn! Pros The customer service is impeccable! our representative will always call when she says she will- she has called us while on a train before when we had an issue with payroll. everyone on the Namely team is so dedicated to making Namely the best. Cons I wish there were more features for the calendar. i have made this suggestion and they told me they would take it into consideration when making updates and implementing more features. since Namely is so culture based- i believe this will happen. and on privacy settings- its confusing for me to know how to edit it and what the results will be. but our rep always is willing to help! Pros We did not have ONE location for SO many things before Namely. Namely has been amazing for putting so many tools in one place that employees need to access. Payroll, PTO requests, Forms and the ability to update teams and the agency all at once through a facebook like platform. Cons Sometimes the subfolders inside the toolbar on the left hand side of the screen are hard to navigate. It would be nice to have a search function to find what you need. Staff profile and all can easily be synced with the cloud and the user interface is very easy to understand. It is like having a virtual tool that can handle the management of all the HR responsibilities. Cons The price is pretty high but it is worth it when you consider the complexity of your organizations to the benefits of having the product. Pros We used a few other HR systems in the past (one we even built ourselves... that was a mistake). Namely is essentially our employee's central hub for all things related to HR. All organized, easy to navigate, and functional. Switching to Namely has allowed our HR managers to switch to focusing more attention on new hires rather than spending all their time supporting the team. I don't even think I have spoke to HR since we adopted Namely, it's great! Cons Getting all your documentation set up in Namely can be very time consuming. I don't think it's more time consuming than alternatives, but expect that "setting up Namely" will be a full time job for a couple months. November 16, 2015 5.0 We began our search for an HRIS in May of 2015 and ended up going with Namely in Sept 2015. We are loving our decision and have since expanded our product options from just the HRIS to include payroll, benefits administration and performance management. This is HUGE for us as our internal team had been looking for a software that our external accountants also loved and would be willing to move payroll & benefits to. One of the biggest reasons we first purchased namely was to revamp our on-boarding process. The same time last year we had maybe 30 employees. We were subleasing a small office space and everything was done manually with paper or google docs. That was fine for 30 employees, but when we tripled in size it became extremely tedious and unprofessional seeming. Tasks and new hires would get lost in all the emails and spreadsheet and it was just unmanageable. Insert Namely. Lifesaver! We have no automated the entire on boarding process and there are no long back and forth emails, tasks getting forgotten about or paperwork going missing. We love it! Cons The lack of ability to integrate with other software vendors is a real disappointment. We ended up selecting Namely as our HRIS because of their ability to integrate. Director of Human Resources Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great product with variable implementation and customer support" December 7, 2016 5.0 I work for a nonprofit organization with more than 60 employees in over 20 states (we're a remote workforce), and we began using Namely after leaving a different software in the summer of 2016. I struggled to decide between a three and four-star review. For now, I'm going with a three, but I reserve the right to revise upward or downward in future weeks and months. Our sales and introductory phase with Namely was excellent. We learned a lot about the product and Namely's offerings, and, obviously, our organization was sold. As I've seen noted in some other reviews, there were problems with our implementation. Our payroll was set up incorrectly, even though Namely had payroll registers to model on, and that error resulted in the underpayment of taxes. To Namely's credit, they put a lot of work in to correct the issue and file amendments, but it was disappointing that poor implementation resulted in something like that. We've also had spotty responsiveness and support, but that has improved as the kinks have gotten worked out (which is somewhat backward to what you, as a customer, might want). Outside of the implementation and responsiveness, we love the platform. I love that we have so much control over payroll (that wasn't the case with other software), and the HRIS side of things is much more sleek, streamlined, and easy to understand. In summary, I would say our relationship and experience is improving over time, but there's still some damaged trust and suspiciousness after the rocky implementation. October 26, 2016 5.0 Hi, we've been using Namely for the past year and it's been fun implementing the system and building out our new processes within the system. There have been a couple of challenges, but I think it's because the company is still growing. I believe they are aware of the issues and are trying their best to fix them. I like that they seem to be transparent, they continuously keep us clients informed about releases and updates. They know that they must get payroll running smoothly (which is where we have the most issues). Payroll still needs work but it's not bad or a deal breaker. I'm confident that they will make payroll better within the next couple of months. Pros Allows us to have a paperless on boarding!
