We have been trailing Kintone as a solution that will allows many team leads create and manage projects and workflows. The low-code aspect of creation is the most compelling aspect we have found. Cons Pricing is a bit of a challenge to quickly understand after 5 users, you move into enterprise and you have to call to get an estimate even though they say you'll save money with their ROI tool. The ability to quickly create custom forms and reports is also very useful. Furthermore, kintone's integration with other services such as Google Apps, Salesforce, and Dropbox makes it incredibly powerful and simple to use. Cons Kintone's user interface can be difficult to use and understand at times, in my opinion. It also didn't have a lot of customization options, making it difficult to tailor it to my specific needs. An NPO lives and dies on the accuracy of its data. With Kintone, we are better able to present the effectiveness of our services to potential donors and grantors, improving our ability to earn more and better grants, leading to better services for our clients. Pros It is incredibly simple and fast to get a new app built and launched. Some of the smaller ones go from idea to launch in a matter of minutes. These are programs that would have taken hours or days to develop in Microsoft Access. Cons There is some basic functionality that I expect in any database or data management software that Kintone lacks. For instance, the ability to have a drop-down menu that also allows for a user-typed input (what Access calls a combo-box). If this existed in Kintone, it would help me to simplify a great many apps. Cons It is not really practical when you have multiple tables that need to be loaded. There are also portions of the application that I wish were customizable for the user that are currently not, and if you ask for the customization there is usually an (understandable) charge. There were no surprises. No "temporary" pricing. What you see is what you get, and it has greatly improved our content management and work flow process. A bit plus is the ability to link apps so that matching fields can be automatically populated, avoiding wasteful double data entry. Pros Kintone was so easy; logical interface with drag-and-drop functionality that makes creating your first app easy. Or you can upload a spreadsheet and decide how you want the data to display. Cons Some of the functionality, such as setting up reminders, was complicated and required assistance from customer support. There is no way to "mass delete" notifications. Reason for choosing kintone Neither of those options were feasible because of development time, cost, or suitability. We just needed a tool to manage information and projects. Cons I do not like that certain status's have to be updated across all apps in order to match the main jobs page status. This can often lead to confusion and misinformation. This has helped us track and store information about our facilities, vendors, and personnel. The notifications are especially helpful for stakeholders to get alerts when new records are added or comments are made, allowing them to quickly perform the next step in a process. Pros The product was so easy to deploy and easy to train people on. The price cannot be beaten. We switched over from Quickbase, which was much more expensive and less intuitive. Cons When filtering by a piece of data that contains letters, you have to ensure all data that is entered is done exactly the same (even with capitalization) or you will miss data. It would be great for the program to pick up all data despite this. Ex. Addresses are entered by my team and might say "630 S San Pedro" while others say "630 san pedro". Best are the analytics - other online databases we used did not crealize charts or pivot tables. Exportability. We are able to share data and staff can use the easy tools to create their own reports. Pros Analysis capacity. I can create pivot tables and sumary reports easily. Allows our staff to look at data without relying on Evaluation or tech department support Cons Nothing really. Only things I would like would be ability to run video files and preview all file attachments in the site, not just download to view.
