Super easy for me to integrate. Pros If you are a heavy wordpress user or designer, sometimes ou need something fast that is easy to copy, paste, set up, and is fairly cheap. THIS is it. It is inexpensive and incredibly easy to integrate into a wordpress (or html) site, hooks up to square, and handles both 'downloads' like PDF books, pickup in store items for things like cafes or restaurants, and then things you can ship. Cons It is really repetitive and cumbersome when it comes to descriptions, images, dropdowns, etc. There are other sites that make it easier and faster and less 'steps' but alas...they are more money. Not much to say about it. Pros Ecwid is a robust platform for the newcomer with pretty much everything streamlined to get your website up and running in no time. Cons Ecwid might make you have a website up and running in no time but that means it is going to look like a template available to anybody, so you might end up having a copycat website somewhere. For seasoned developers/designers this is not your platform. You can add LOTS of product photos to each product. FREE FOREVER, not just a free trial. So you can test it out for free for as long as it takes you to learn. You can upgrade and downgrade your plan whenever you want and as often as you want so it's perfect for a seasonal business. The BEST solution I have found for a handmade business. Using WP plugin currently and have also used imbedded on other platforms. Cons I have found minor hiccups with WP plugin. But usually I could work around. Because of that, I am on the legacy plan and have not upgraded to access some of the advanced features, particularly order editing. I have never lost data, never had a service interruption. It integrates well with my Joomla website. I don't plan to ever change platforms. It is a great service Pros Reliability. Never been hacked, never lost service. Rock solid platform. Finally transferred by shipping to an add-on (Shipping Easy) and it has taken much of the manual work off of my plate. Order comes in to my cell phone. Print out the invoice and do the fulfillment. I also like the digital download capability. Cons The only feature I miss is order editing. But that is because I have not upgraded to that level of service. I am very grateful to have found this product for free, and gladly put up with some of its limitations and quirks. Pros I appreciate the extent of offering for free that Ecwid is willing to give for free to their users. All things considered, I have been able to fairly easily set up a number of products and maintain my non-profit's web store. Cons Some of the functionality is a little difficult to use while setting up products especially. Many of the options are difficult to find again, and some things are labeled in a way that makes them difficult to understand what they do without setting it up, putting it in action and seeing what it does. Pros It's wildly easy to set up, integrate, and use. There are a bunch of features that make Ecwid easier to use, but not more confusing, and the support team is always clear, concise, and helpful. One feature I would be interested in having available is being able to password protect a category. Being able to disable an entire category without having to disable each individual product would be helpful to me as well. Again--overall the software is a good fit for me. We do online stores for schools, clubs and businesses for custom decorated apparel. Many of our customers repeat orders year after year or every few months and it's very convenient to just disable their category/products and then edit and enable them for the next round of orders. It has a wide variety of features that help me serve my customers. There are a few areas that could use improvement, such as upselling in the cart, but what it does, it does well. Pros Support is excellent. There are a lot of ways to use the software to promote the product. It has simple plugins for Joomla and Facebook. I love the features for bulk pricing as well as wholesale discounts for customer groups. You can grow your business just by using Ecwid as it allows you to automatically list your items in large marketplaces. We are very satisfied with the service as the value it provides for the price it costs is very high compared to other shopping cart solution websites. All in all, is the best shopping back-end I have ever used, and have been a customer since 2011. I'm absolutely satisfied with it. Pros I love that this was so simple to learn and set up. I had tried working with WordPress but for some reason it was overwhelming. Ecwid's pre-made themes really helped me find a design I was happy with, and then I was able to customize it to suit my business. Cons The only complaint I've had is that some things aren't as customizable as I'd like. Things like font size or color in certain areas. Mostly minor details that didn't make much difference; and the one or two things where it actually did make a difference, I was able to contact customer service and they helped create code that made it happen for me. Owner Arts and Crafts Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Ecwid problems syncing with Clover, praise for customer service and no SEO" October 21, 2016 3.0 The overall quality was given 3 stars because of Ecwid's inability to fully sync with Clover. This was a feature that very much sold me this product so my inventory quantities would be accurate for online ordering. The syncing fails when products are sold out. I have been deleting sold out product on the Clover station and have discovered this does not sync and delete the product from Ecwid. Therefore I have received web orders that have out of stock product. Since Clover cannot refund on online Ecwid orders this took some doing getting the order charge corrected. Now that I'm aware of the problem I am dual deleting on Clover and Ecwid....double the work. Customer support gets a 5 star rating because Chris Gaines went beyond the call of duty to enable a measured yardage code for my site. He's awesome and I'm sorry some other features don't work after all that. Whenever I call Ecwid the customer support team has been prompt and informative. The other big problem my marketers have discovered is the inability to SEO Ecwid. This is quite huge in the Google world of the internet. Pros Easy to use on a daily basis. Everything is intuitive and self explanatory, and there are lots and lots of tutorials in case you have special needs or you want to do something out of the ordinary. You can customize anything from the color scheme, to bread crumbs, to shipping and handling fees, to displaying different categories of products on different websites. And, the best thing is that it makes the checkout super easy as well, so many of my customers gave me positive feedback when I started using Ecwid. I love using this shopping cart, and I can highly recommend it to anyone with a commercial website. They by far surpass any platform I've used online for customer service and I use a lot. Ecwid reps are as much or more helpful even through chat, than other companies are by phone. They have a lot of different things you can do with their e commerce app and they are 100% up to par technically. So if I can't understand an application, they gladly jump in, and teach me how to do it, or they do it. I am gobsmacked at the user friendliness of an APP for people lay in tech. And I'm equally gobsmacked at how educated technically, polite, and generous with their time, that Ecwid reps are. Pros Ease of use, even for people that are not tech savvy. Cons Hmmm. It looks fantastic, while easy to use. The support is always friendly and helpful. Additional features and apps are also available to cover every requirement, from online chat boxes, to product reviews. Maintaining and updating the online shop is not only easy to do now, it's an absolute pleasure. The system is always stable and responsive. There is also an app so that you can monitor and manage apps on your android/iphone, keeping your customer up to date with their order while you're out and about yourself, with other automated emails so you can easily keep your customers up to date with their order. Since promoting the site, there is already a significant increase in online orders. I'd strongly recommend Ecwid to anyone who is looking for an easy to use online shop with tons of features, excellent support while being very reasonably priced. October 20, 2016 4.0 I am using the business version of Ecwid which makes it easy to accept money on my Word Press site. I thought it would be hard to create my own site since my only experience prior to using Ecwid was being on Etsy. It is very user friendly, although there are a few more features I wish they would offer that would make it top notch. The most important being an integrated shipping feature. They do offer the ability to use the ShipStation app with Ecwid and import all of your orders, but you need to subscribe to ShipStation as well as Stamps.com in order to make it easier to ship your products. I would like to be able to print shipping labels in Ecwid to save time and would be willing to pay extra for that feature. I like that you can upload a lot of images through Ecwid as well as provide videos in your text description about your products.
