### "Photoshelter has made searching and pulling photos for our company so much easier and faster."

August 16, 2017

4.0

Pros

I like that we can control who has permission in our company to see and download specific photos. It's also very helpful giving those permissions to people in other departments, because now they are able to download the photos they want themselves. We no longer have to stop working on time sensitive projects and do it for them, it saves us valuable time that we need as designers to do our job efficiently.

Cons

For some reason the app doesn't work on my phone, thats really the only thing that I would say I dislike the least.

### "Libris has been an awesome addition. We love being able to access our archive anywhere"

August 15, 2017

4.0

We do not have to be in the office to access our files and the metadata makes it easy to find what we are looking for!

Pros

The metadata tagging is key for us. We can quickly find photos of certain people in certain uniform combinations, day/night, etc. Not having to be in the office to get to photos is nice. It has also changed how we ingest photos in-game.

Cons

The PhotoShelter app on my iPhone has never worked for me. It could just be me. It would be handy to be able to access, email, download, text, etc. LibrisUploader works for us on phones and iPads.

The flexible file storage is a little slow when searching for labels delays to load.

### "Stronger promotion of our work"

August 14, 2019

5.0

Overall experience very positive. Libris made our photo archive at last visible and searchable through the organisation and helped us improve our image outside of the organisation.

Pros

I like starting my day seeing our analysts in the field sent new pictures via their Libris Uploader App or their computer. I like to be able to share albums with my colleagues. I like to hear about my colleagues being delighted to be able to find pictures themselves through the searching button. I love the keywords search button.

Cons

I like least that the Uploaders cannot add more captions and info on their pictures. They don't have another software to enter metadata on pictures (caption, keywords) so there's only the title option as they upload, but they upload a bunch of pictures at the time, so not really helping for specific info.

Reason for choosing PhotoShelter for Brands

Good money/quality value for what we need.

### "Great Product"

The software is so easy to use and a great tool for our team.

Cons

The lack of an app was my only negative feedback but we now have one with the addition of File Flow.

### "Libris is very easy to use and work through. "

August 15, 2017

5.0

Being able to share particular galleries with different clients has made my job so much easier. I can spend more time designing now instead of saving files to CDs or Contact Sheets and e-mailing large files.

Pros

Ability to share galleries with ease. Plus the ability to stop clients from downloading and using images incorrectly. The drag and drop feature is extremely useful. Moving folders within the frame seems to work well and I can copy files so that they appear in more than one collection at a time.

Cons

Haven't found a way to add metadata to multiple folders at a time. If there were a way to color code folders and galleries (and maybe there is) I feel it would be easier to organize files at a glance.

### "I'm Loving the Organization Factor"

September 13, 2017

4.0

Pros

It allows us to be as organized to the highest degree. Which is something that we need. I haven't fully experienced everything about Libris, but I am certainly looking forward to using going on. It also makes it easier for me to get photos from the photographers when they are out of the office, (more than likely shooting something new). But it allows me access without them having to essentially hand deliver me photos to use.

Cons

Sometimes the organization can be a hindrance. Having to go through extra steps just because of how organized it is. I'm not a huge fan of having to given permission to everything. I had a problem that every time I needed to get something I had to be given permissions or something. EVERY TIME i tried to get a file. But that was corrected.

### "Sending online photos"

December 22, 2022

4.0

It is an attractive program that is versatile, but there are other alternatives that are easier to work with.

Pros

It's easy to share files online in a secure way. There is an easy search option that helps finding you the right things.

Cons

Once the program crashed and all my work was lost. I had to start everything over because it was not saved. Also had problems with the forwarding of files that could not be opened.

### "Libris has provided a product with nearly unlimited potential in digital asset management"

September 1, 2017

5.0

The creation of a Digital Library has allowed us to modernize and organize our digital assets, turning more than 125 years of history out of file folders and onto the web. The ability for researchers, alumni, fans, family and friends to find information that otherwise be hidden away will and has been a major advancement for our program.

Pros

Libris and Photoshelter's outward facing interface allowed for the creation of the Cornell Athletics Digital Library, allowing alumni, friends and fans access to this digital repository of Big Red history. Photos can be viewed for free or purchased for posterity. Video clips, game stories, newspaper clippings and more will be available for viewing and downloading. It is both easy to navigate on the front end and simple to manage and search on the back end. it's upload and download time and quick send options also allow us to easily manage our media relations functions.

Cons

Batch downloading can sometimes be a challenge when needing things between nested folders, but that's a user problem. Software really has everything we need.

### "Easy to jump in and get started with. Once implemented very user friendly and intuitive."

August 15, 2017

5.0

Provides a level of order and access to what had previously been a very disorganized amount of files and photos. Saves my team a great deal of time by improving our ability to search for these images in an efficient manner.

Pros

Ease of uploading the photos and tagging the photos. Great amount of customer support to help get us going. It is also evident that they are used to dealing with higher ed clients and had plenty of experience to fall back on when answering our specific questions.

Cons

Nothing immediately jumps to mind! It would be great if we could more easily manipulate the order folders (as they default to alpha-numeric ordering), but that feels very nitpicky. All in all, a great product.

### "Good but not perfect"

August 13, 2019

4.0

Good but not perfect. Our suggestions for updates were always appreciated but never implemented.

Pros

That we can include different kind of file formats such as PDF, EPS, ai ...

Cons

Lacking tagging facilities, not possible to easily tag several files. Not possible to undo tagging on multiple files. Problems with Libris when using older MACOS version. Obligatory update of MACOS. Odd user interface for invited users, seeing different maps seperately. User interface should be the same for back ofice as for front office.

Overall I'm extremely satisfied with this software. I'm able to maximize my workflow due to how organized this helps me be.

Pros

### "Great photo solution!"

August 13, 2019

5.0

Libris has been a great tool to help us organize our photo assets in a way that alleviates the pressure from me to provide random campus constituents with the photos they are seeking. They can look for themselves! It's also nice being able to highlight our nicest assets in an easy to use fashion!

Pros

Photos are easy to find, easy to organize and tag. Uploading is also pretty seamless.

Cons

FTP is not intuitive, needs a few more options for contributors to add more details to their uploads, sometimes it's a little slow.

### "Great for collaboration "

August 20, 2019

Pros

I am able to seamlessly share and work with a large group of people. It simplifies workflow and allows us to create content at a much better rate.

Cons

### "Libris has helped our department tremendously with sharing images across our campus community."

November 27, 2017

4.0

We are now able to search edited images through tagged information and able to share and present images in an organized format.

Pros

Searchable tagged photos We are able to share photos quickly with internal and external partners Like being able to customize folders for particular job requests

Cons

The Libris connector really does not give our designers the easy access tools necessary for working with InDesign at a reasonable price. They are having to download the images first and use Adobe Bridge to connect. It also does not allow designers to drag and drop images when they just want to see how something might look in a quick and easy format unlike other programs.

### "I think Photoshelter Libris is a perfect solution for DAM. I am 100% happy with the product!"

August 16, 2017

5.0

My time to get out and keep shooting and creating great content for the college.

Pros

Everything! I like the interface, support, that it is a cloud based storage option and I can upload from anywhere I have a internet connection.

Cons

I wish I would have found it sooner. I had tried 2 other DAM systems and had a lot of issues, everyone love Photoshelter.

### "My overall experience is pretty poor. "

August 1, 2018

3.0

Pros

I feature where you can share galleries with specific people by email is very nice. Although the interface for it could be better.

Cons

The interface is the most inefficient. I would love it if more things were accessible with fewer clicks (ie key shortcuts or a right click mouse menu). The gallery pages refresh constantly without warning which makes me lose the selections I have on images.

### "Create Your Own Stock Photo Site"

December 28, 2018

5.0

We have a large team that all need to access photos, and Libris is the perfect way to put them all into one easily searchable place.

Pros

I love the flexibility of the keywording system. Whether you keyword the photos in Lightroom, Aperture, or directly in Libris, everything is recognized and works just like you would expect.

Cons

The site is sometimes slow to load collections or searches that contain a large amount of images.

### "Daily use of the product, however I wish asset sharing were easier for people without Libris. "

August 14, 2017

5.0

All assets are centrally located and I am able to asset share using links.

Pros

All assets are centrally located. I am able to create folders with links to share to internal and external parties.

Cons

Downloading various file sizes is not easy. There should be an easy selection process for the size of photo I would like to download.

### "Solid program"

May 14, 2019

4.0

Pros

We like that you can tag and use metatags on photos, it makes searching so much easier.

Cons

We would like the option to show a record of uploads. When a contributor uploads photos, where does it show a log and how does a contributor know their photos were uploaded?

### "Excellent Distribution Tool & Gallery"

August 13, 2019

4.0

Pros

Photoshelter provided a phenomenal method of distributing deliverables to our clients, and allowing them to peruse their galleries from any device & download what they need. It also gave customers the ability to easily view our tags / metadata compared to our old distribution.

Cons

I wish Active Directory integration were available in the base tier, this would have made it much easier to integrate with our campus.

### "Photo Archive and Streamlined Approach"

January 8, 2019

5.0

Customer support has been excellent; I got key information to our creative department the same day they inquired about a feature, and I received the email response with the hour.

Pros

Libris is more intuitive than our previous digital asset manager

Cons

We had a little trouble exporting and reattaching metadata from our previous digital asset manager, but this trouble was due to the previous asset manager (not Libris).

### "Libris Makes Life Easy"

August 22, 2016

5.0

I've been a user and fan of PhotoShelter for a long time, so when the college I work for was ready to shift to a cloud based DAM system, PhotoShelter's Libris product was my first choice. The admin side is easy to set up and navigate and the client side is clean and user friendly. The customer service is tops and everyone at my institution has been pleased with it.

Pros

I love the ease of uploading and organizing images. The ability to create different galleries for different clients has freed up so much time and made it easy to communicate about photos.

Cons

I haven't found anything I don't like about Libris. I am looking forward to PhotoShelter expanding their mobile app for Libris.

### "Global reach via the Libris cloud"

February 2, 2016

4.0

We chose Libris for the broad set of features available in this system. We are a not-for-profit NGO working on a global scale. We needed a tool that would match our work and ambitions. We use Libris for its indexing and organizing capabilities, rather than for commerce. Prior to Libris, we had been using a set of folders on a network server, however over time that became unwieldy and difficult to manage. Another advantage: Screening and sorting photos is much faster because the system optimizes images for viewing in a way that the old network drive, or other simpler cloud systems, could not do. Libris offers a way to attach info for each image through its tagging system to help us keep track of the images we have, their source, and much more granular information. Incoming, the system makes it easy for photographers across world to upload images to the Libris cloud. Outgoing, we receive many photo requests from a wide variety of outlets, ranging from other partner organizations to publishers, both domestically and abroad. Libris enables our office staff to select individual photos and sent a specific link of the curated images for review and download by editors, printers and other organizations with whom we work. The major downside, as with any complex cataloging tool, is that it takes time to manage and maintain the content. This is simply reality and not a fault of the system which makes many more things possible for us.

### "The tool we needed to get organized!"

August 13, 2019

5.0

Overall, we're very happy with the way Libris has helped us organize our content. Most importantly, the search functionality has made it easier than ever for anyone in the company to find "that one photo" that they're looking for.

Pros

The search functionality is something we desperately needed, and the organizational structure we've been able to set up will help keep us organized in the future.

Cons

Video content doesn't have the same robust metadata tagging as photos. There's no functionality to batch-edit metadata on video content either, so it's tedious to have to copy and paste keywords on individual files unlike photos when I can highlight and edit a group of files all at once. Sharing settings aren't as easy to figure out either in terms of changing permissions on nested collections.
