No major issues and content is easily accessible via portal. I would still recommend Libris to Photographers and Digital Artists. Pros Useful for organisation, searching of images based on custom search terms and tagging of image library and for distribution to other departments Cons Not useful for audio and video due to lack of management and analytical tools built in that feature in a lot of other platforms. Therefore would not recommend for any audio or video content distribution. Would only recommend for images and artwork. Should not make video and audio a selling point to new users due to this. There is so much we’ve yet to uncover. I can’t wait to explore it fully. Pros I love that you are able to save every form of media in one place. You have the capability to search using keywords, tags, names, etc. This is a great way for organizations to access multiple media items. August 18, 2017 4.0 Pros The ability to access photos from an online source rather than use up space on my desktop. I like that the photos are shown as thumbnails that are easy to view rather than a long list of file names. The ability to easily tag photos and search by tag/keyword is extremely helpful. Cons We have had significant issues when outside contributors use the uploading software (including FTP, desktop uploader and web uploader). There seems to be no way to upload photos within a folder organization - when our photographers have tried to do this, we end up with one huge batch of individual photos rather than neatly-organized folders. The only apparent solution is to upload each folder one at a time, which is time-consuming. This system could be much more streamlined and user-friendly. Review Source TL Travis L. We've had to do a few creative work-arounds to give us the tagging and organizational structure we need, but overall we're far ahead of where we were. Pros Libris gives us the needed organization, share function and ease of use that we have long needed. It's easy to find photos, send photos and organize them. And the interface is relatively user-friendly. The support has been consistent and responsive. The mobile uploader app is also fantastic for our needs. Cons The mobile interface is pretty awful. Last week I logged in from my cell phone to try and download a photo off-site (one of the main reasons we got this software) and the experience was pretty dreadful. The site was not mobile-responsive, and I could not easily or nimbly access the photos I needed. I eventually gave up. I was surprised that a site as sophisticated as Libris doesn't have a mobile version that's more user-friendly. Review Source JA Jose A. Haven't been using it much for now, but September is going to be month of constant uploads and building the database on daily basis. Looking forward to whole gallery to officially go live for the whole University. Pros Great user interface, with lots of options included. Love the gallery thumbnails, and contributor uploads option. Galleries look professional, easy to browse and find what one's looking for. Cons Being web based, upload speed is limited by internet provider. One thing that I really dislike is somewhat buggy upload process using Safari browser on a Mac. After 20-30 minutes of usage, the whole UI freezes mid-upload and cancels the upload. I have to close the browser and log-in again every 20 min or so to prevent uploads from freezing. No issues using Chrome though, so just a Safari bug I guess? Review Source CL Chris L. Pros Ease of Use. There is a very small learning curve and once you master the basics it inspires you to do more with the platform. Pros I love the various ways of uploading images, and the ease in sharing images. Customer service, which I've already needed, has been super responsive and helpful. Also, the fact that a trash bin exists in case you try to delete something you didn't mean to. Cons This is our fault, so it doesn't really count, but we haven't integrated it into Creative Cloud just yet. Once we do, I will probably not have complaints. Review Source MF Mallory F. Pros The ability to have our entire archive accessible 24/7 through a website and the ease of use in sending photos at any time of the day. Our front office is using photos in a more timely manner and the search function has aided their endeavor for photos rather that our previous method of going through folder-by-folder on a server. Cons That there is no app available yet for mobile devices. Working in sports and the need for immediate access to photos, a mobile app is almost a necessity. Once an app is created, that will immensely help our workflow as a team. Sharing private galleries with users who don't need to see everything is convenient. As long as you label things and tag things appropriately, searching for assets is easy. Unlike other products we had considered, this solves our problem well. Pros It's well-designed and user-friendly, allowing us to manage our internal image database. One of the greatest things about Libris that was never available in the earlier PhotoShelter system was the support - videos, blog, help, updates, etc. All very helpful in keeping up, and with learning about features we are not using. Cons Haven't run into any major setbacks to speak of. We still have confusion about users, groups and permissions. It also allows me to have finite control over things like file sizes when I am sending files out. Cons What I like least about this software is the price premium for adding editors. For the most part, access is quick and corrections to ant galleries can be made efficiently with a minimum of fuss. Cons At our company and this point Libris is in the Honeymoon stage and I've found little that would constitute a "Con". There have been a few glitches while attempting to use the Libris/Lightroom plug in but these were insignificant and did not cause too much of a distraction..
