Pros What I love most about Libris DAM is the ability to export directly from Adobe Lightroom while keeping all the metadata and keywords. This saves me a lot of time in tagging assets during the uploading process and also allows me to maintain the same file structure. It is easy to use, easy to get up and running and a great storage option if you can afford. Cons The cost is far to high for an educational program and nonprofit located inside a university ecosystem. We would certainly be using it today if the cost were not as high and education pricing that made sense were available to us. Reason for choosing PhotoShelter for Brands At this point there is no optimal solution in the marketplace. We are stuck using Box, local servers, and what is available through adobe as part of the university agreement. None of these work for what we need, but we make do. Review Source HM Hannah M. There is no other software like it on the market. Cons There are very few cons when it comes to Libris. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that it is a little bland and slightly interface, although not sure how much they can liven it up without sacrificing the software's efficiency. Pros It is extremely helpful to customize portions of the DAM so that people around campus can view and download their own assets without having to slow everything down by making requests via email and dropping files on servers by the university photographer. This streamlines that process nicely. Cons Libris is a little clunky to maneuver but nothing too obstructive. August 21, 2017 4.0 Better storage, speed, and organization of photos. Pros One storage place to rule them all, with shared tags, custom tags, unlimited contributors. We especially like that photos can live in multiple galleries. Cons Permissions can be tricky to get right, and the sales system is not the easiest. Also, we are still working on a good system where contributor photos can be easily integrated into our archives without creating a heavy workload for the administrators. Review Source KA Ken A. No more missing or broken InDesign links. It is so easy to upload and organize files. I love the preview file for each folder and collection. The customer support is fantastic! Pros The ability to organize and privately share our very large asset library with our internal clients using SSO is huge for my department. The search function saves time, and enables our clients to find what they need with ease. I very much appreciate the multiple options for uploading assets in bulk and they easy-to-use form fields for editing IPTC metadata. Everyone was very helpful when helping me understand a glitch I was having during the upload process. Pros This is very easy to use - my company uses it to place our department files in an easy to reach place, and it makes end of year reporting a breeze! Cons There really is not anything I do not like about this software. It makes my job so much easier! The overall look for the public is very clean and neat. The ability to share and give downloading permissions for images is excellent and easy to do. The only downside is that only a small amount of the metadata is shown, and there is no way to change what parts we can/cannot show. You can however search by things such as city/location which is helpful. Overall, this is a really great product and I would recommend it to anyone who has similar needs as ours. Very user friendly! Also the customer service is excellent and responds very quickly Pros Very user friendly. Really clean display for the public. Excellent customer service Cons It would be nice to be able to have additional parts of our metadata shown with each image. Cons It is sometimes confusing for our clients/employees to download the files. You currently have to go through the process of setting up an account and can't just click the download button to get the file. August 16, 2017 4.0 Pros The best thing about Libris for us is that it centralizes our photo library and makes it available anywhere, at any time. Cons We have had some issues with page/gallery refreshing when trying to use live photos during a game. A live refresh when photos upload would be great. Cons The only downside so far is that there is not facial recognition built into the software, which is something that would be extremely helpful for our archiving process.
