### "High School Service Hour Tracking"

Pros

We were able to greatly decrease paperwork in our office while also making it harder for students to falsify service hours.

Cons

We wish there was a little more flexibility or options in terms of accepting service hours. For instance, we require all freshmen to do a certain type of service each quarter (e.g. serve the homeless). So if they do another type of service (e.g. tutor children) we can't accept it because we don't want it to count towards what's required that quarter. However, we wish could "partially" accept it or something, so that it could count towards a different total that they could then use/reference when applying for scholarships and such.

Our overall experience with MobileServe has been awesome. Support has been quick via email and phone calls and MobileServe has always been willing to help and hear us out. Thank you so much MobileServe, we hope to continue our partnership and grow with you guys for many more years to come!

Pros

I like the ease of use of the MobileServe App on our students iPad's and the customization abilities as a MobileServe administrator on the back-end. This has helped us eliminate stacks of paper that required manual entry into a spreadsheet for 2000+ students. Thank you MobileServe.

Cons

The initial registration process for students was a little cumbersome as it required a code sent via email. Students tried to register without the email (which worked) but it didn't place them in a grade level, then they would go through their email to register and the system would say the account was already created under that email. Not a big issue as most students followed directions and registered using the initial email sent to them by MobileServe.

I got an easy way to log service hours that kept me up to date with my progress. It was really accessible and the app helped me regulate my time and see how much longer I have until I reached my goal. I also found that the app was well received by the people I was volunteering with and overall I really enjoyed using it.

Pros

I like the simple set up, and the easy ways to log the hours. Getting a signature and adding a geotag were useful additions that helped my overall experience.

Cons

Sometime the software would glitch or the signature on the mobile phone wouldn't work right and that was frustrating but it was nothing major.

MobileServe has made my life much easier! It is a great way to record and save student community service records in a secure manner. Very user friendly for students and allows them to record completed hours immediately upon rendering service.

Pros

No more paperwork for recording student service hours. Access to a "service resume" when students need a formal document for scholarships or other applications.

Cons

It is a little challenging to navigate when you first get started (as an administrator). Finding all settings items (i.e. Student Code) is hard for students to navigate on an iPad or smart phone.

I need to speak to someone from Mobile Serve in the fall regarding tweaking how students in the Girls Side of Malden Catholic record their service.

Pros

Much easier for both the teachers and students to use than our previous service tracking app our school utilized.

Cons

We have only actively used it for less than 2 months. Summer service that was submitted will be approved when the students return. This is very hard to ascertain at this point.

Reason for choosing MobileServe

It is more user friendly. The other service promised to have an app finished by the end of the school year and failed to deliver. Given that we work with high school students, having service easy to log right on their phone using the app is essential. This way they are likely to log it on the spot and they’re not struggling to recall dates, times, and contacts. We want to make the process easy to log not add an extra step. The emphasis should be on service. In these ways, Mobile Serve was a great fit for us.

this system automates the tracking and reporting of our student's service hours - so much easier than them turning in paper copies for us to keep up with.

Pros

Easy for our students to log service hours, reports are helpful, automates the service hour system

Cons

the fact that the students can only log a maximum of 23 hours at a time through the app, going back and forth through the reporting system can be difficult and require you to start over, having to choose a sub-org each time tracking in the app when there is only one sub-org in the account - it should auto-connect if you are signed up for just one sub-org - we found that our students forget to click the sub-org box.

Pros

MobileServe is a wonderful tool for those who desire to log hours of service. It is practical since it can be used on a mobile device or on a desktop computer. It is easy to use and very convenient for supervisors to verify the submissions of their volunteers. Because of the geo stamp and supervisor verification, the app assists those approving hours to determine the validity of the submissions. I especially love that the app gives users the ability to download reports that they can use for scholarships and internships.

Cons

It would be helpful if the app was more like the website in its ability to log service hours that exceeded 24 hours, such as mission trips or weekly commitments.

### "Efficient Service for Tracking Community Service"

All 71 students were able to complete and document their hours this past year without losing their documentation. Students needed little assistance with their accounts and there was little to no frustration expressed by students when using MobileServe.

Pros

The student accounts were easy to set up and students had little trouble navigating the UI and logging their community service hours independently. MobileServe also makes it easy for the administrator to obtain verification of hours from non-profit supervisors around town. Tech support is is also very responsive.

Cons

It is very customizable, so learning how to use the software was a little tricky, but tech support was helpful.

The only con is the cost. For our small nonprofit it is expensive, but providing free accounts to students has been worth it to us.

Cons

If someone messes up a service category, they have to get it re-verified. It causes problems for me.

\-verification of service can be complicated/easy to manipulate. Didn't know photos could verify service until someone used that as a loophole. Also, navigating the back end of the site can be a little tough.

Pros

Customer service is great. They are quick to answer any questions that come up throughout the day.

Cons

Some of the pages can be clunky to work through. On the service log page, it would be great to have a batch accept / reject feature with a comment box just like on the individual service log pages. I wish we as administrators had the power to turn off certain verifications on the service log pages.

Pros

What I like most about this software is how it makes it so easy to view all of the different events in one spot and sign people up quickly

Cons

Each page must be reloaded and when working with a large group that keeps track of your hours it become increasingly agrivating when it takes 7 hours to see If 160 people are up to date on their hours because each page takes 30 seconds to load

Not having to keep paper copies. Students having access to add their hours rather than us logging them in.

Cons

We are still learning after our 2nd year with this. Often data does not match and it is because we entered or labeled something incorrectly. I find it very difficult to use and have basically passed it along for another colleague to try to figure it out.

I think it is a wonderful tool especially for teachers and students. This way the students have the app right on their phone and can receive a signature right away for their service hours.

Pros

I really like that Mobile Serve is electronic, it is very easy for teachers to track service hours this way.

Cons

As I was checking in the service hours I had to click on each one and then go back to another student. I am aware I can click on multiple and approve the hours, however if I do it that way I cannot see what the students actually did.

MobileServe has helped me administer our program and better promote it and archive valuable data for long-range planning.

Pros

MobileServe saves me hours of work by tracking students' community service hours. It also provides me with lots of useful data. The folks there are friendly and patient with me.

Cons

It can be clunky to use sometimes. I can't always get answers right away and I wish there was a way to have face-to-face instruction- I learn better that way, although the video chats do help. I'm still a fan.

Pros

This software is easy for students and faculty to install and use on the go. Finally, there is a way to verify community service without having to record on paper and turn in. Students are motivated by being able to keep track of their hours in a few quick steps.

Cons

As an administrator, it is hard to find exactly the data that I am looking for. There are lots of options, but sometimes too many to search through for exactly what I want.

The rep has been wonderful. I am nervous about rolling over our old data to mobileserve. I hope to do that within the next month.

Pros

That students can track their hours via computer or cellphone. We previously used our database and I had to enter all of the hours. This is a much better solution.

Cons

I don't think the service log section is user friendly. I would like to review a service log and have an option to go to the next service log without exiting a service log. Now this may be a user error on my part, but I haven't found an alternative yet. I wish logging events was easier. As I stated, I'm still figuring out how to use everything so I may have more feedback later. Right now I feel confused and a little overwhelmed.
