The setup was difficult. The app seems uneccesarily complicated for the service it is trying to render.

Pros

The attractive interface and layout of the site.

Cons

Very confusing to use. Was not obvious how to find the students that I was supposed to track. The dashboard is filled with a lot of stuff that we aren't using.

Much better way to collect service hours.

Pros

It makes collecting and tracking service hours very easy. The design is engaging and intuitive, our students quickly learn how to use the software. The price is very affordable and I have been impressed by the customer service.

Cons

The only challenge has been getting all students signed up, but this is a challenge on our end, not something wrong with the software.

What I like most is that i was able to see the specific location and time for my volunteer hours. It help me track where I've been.

Cons

What I like least about mobilserve is that you cannot check if your supervisor has actually verifie your hours.

I think it would be great if my volunteers were more willing to use it.

Pros

It is easy to use and the staff is great. I think that it makes a lot of sense intuitively. The product is good.

Cons

I cannot get my volunteers to use the software. I am struggling with the idea that when I create an event with volunteer sign up times, I have to share it with each person after they create an account. When they log in that should be able to see all the events already. I some volunteers that don't want to create an account, they just want to fill in their name on an event slot.

Pros

The ease of use for students is a great feature. They can submit their service hours immediately instead of carrying papers around for months. Then it is very useful to have a record of this--a service resume, if you will--for when they are submitting college and scholarship applications.

Cons

It is sometimes difficult to organize student hours in order to see just this school year vs. cumulatively.

Efficient software for logging service hours

Pros

It's easy to use, you can see how many hours of service you are logging in terms of volunteerism and charitable giving, and you can analyze your time investments long-term.

Cons

You have to log in every session for each day you make a commitment. I wish there was a weekly time commitment option where you could log your hours per week instead of hours per day.

Pros

The ability to look back at what I have done is great. It's also SUPER easy to use. I can just pop in, record my hours, and be done. I also like being able to upload photos, and make little notes.

Cons

The most irritating thing I have encountered was when there was an update that required inputting your birthday. I mistakenly just put in the current date, and I ended up in this horrid loop of having to update my birth date, but not being able to update it without getting a notice that I had to have a guardian approve it. Simple glitches.

Time savings and clarity

Pros

Ease of use via computer or phone, clear visibility for both the volunteers and the organization to see what hours have been completed, thus eliminating the back and forth between the parties when questions about what work has been completed.

Cons

Given the ease of use, it is at times 'too easy' for individuals to enter time in that has not been worked causing us to have a 'false positive'. However, given that this is our first year using the software, there needs to be an adjustment some to our processes as well.

It is much easier to track my service hours for organizations and work.

Pros

I enjoy that our members can track their own service hours easily on their app and that the service hours are compiled in the dashboard to view as a whole.

Cons

I wish that the software would allow for the dashboard on the mobile app, or for easier transition between the dashboard and my personal user page on a pc set up.

It keeps all of my service hours in once place, allows my organizations access to see those service hours/events, and you can check in at certain places if they make an event on the app.

Cons

It makes you log in every time if you haven't recorded hours in a while, which is inconvenient. It also is not the easiest app to navigate and can be difficult when recording hours.

Pros

Ease of use and compatability with my fraternity for tracking service hours. It's a lot nicer than the schools website form for it.

Cons

I got a little confused during submission of a service event regarding like an overseer type person. It took me a second to realize it wasn't required line.

I was able to get all my service hours in, in a timely fashion.

Pros

It's the easiest way to submit service hours into my school. All of my friends use it, and we actually end up competing because we can add each other as friends, within the app!

Cons

I wish when you submitted hours, it wouldn't set the date to the day you submit them, because that could cause confusion.

The things I like most about this software are that it is easy and convenient to use and it allows you to describe the service you did and reflect on the impact on yourself and the community.

Cons

I had some confusion when first using this software, but once I got used to it I did fine. There have been updates since that have made it easier as well.

Pros

I love how it shows you how many hours each person has and how much your group has in total also. You also get to see each name in alphabetical order making idly easy to search.

Cons

I don't like how it doesn't separate the hours by year or semester. I find it hard having to go back and look at specific dates and then totaling it myself.

I like that you can send out group information all at one time for the needs you have. That way parents can get the information all at one time.

Cons

Pros

I like that it is easy to input my volunteer experience, I can share pictures or share the update with others. I like that it also has room to store contact information to verify other people's hours or find the contact information again.

Cons

I don't like that it counts all of the hours you have ever done. I wish you could make it show the hours you have done this school year, semester or even "most recent hours". This makes it easier for us to say "Look this is what I did this year"

Cons

The application on my phone is a little more difficult to navigate than using it on a computer. It would also be helpful if we could type in organizations we donated time or money to that are new to the application.

Much easier than paper logs, despite the minor glitches, this app has really helped us reduce clutter and track hours effectively

Pros

Does not burden non-profit volunteer partners with having to create and account

Cons

Can be a little clunky when sorting through many past logs, app cannot auto-refresh while keeping the same date range and sorting, for example

My favorite thing about MobileServe is how easy it is to use! It's an incredibly functional and intuitive app.

Cons

My least favorite thing is that the app itself doesn't motivate me to serve or log service hours. It always takes prompting from the director of my scholarship program for me to remember to log my hours.

Tracking my hours so I know exactly how much I have.

Pros

The ease of posting hours. It doesn't take a lot of time and if you post right after you finish Volunteering then it would take no more than 5 minutes.

Cons

Having the photo on there. I would rather not have anything there but it does require that you put a photo on there.

I like how quick and easy it is to use. It is nice that we can track our hours in one place and that is how our officers get to retrieve the information.

Cons

Sometimes I got a little lost on how to use it but now I know it all. If there was a easier way like a tutorial to show the chapter, that would be nice.

I enjoy that it keeps track of every activity and doesn't delete activities after a certain amount of time.

Cons

It is very easy to fake hours. I wish there was a better way to verify the hours to prevent this from happening.

To be honest, my organization is traditionally not very good at keeping track of service hours or time at philanthropic events. I would recommend any organization looking for an easy, but highly effective way of tracking service hours to use this app. As our organization requires service hours, we were able to actually verify hours and hold brothers accountable for their service.
