Owner Real Estate Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Overall, ISN has been great" August 13, 2025 4.0 I have been using ISN since late 2020. I should have started using it when I started the business in 2016. Overall, ISN has been great, support is great, the product is great, the tools for customer follow up and retention are great. I use it for all my follow-up which used to take me about 20 hours a week. Follow up is key to success in any business. No regrets. Pros It works and if used to it's fullest, it will generate income. It saved me from hiring office help as my business grew. Cons The massive price increase a couple years ago really bothered me. The company line was that it was to make it more fair to the small businesses. I'm a small business, one man show. I still haven't figured out how that helped me. I disliked the reasoning behind the price increase more than the price increase itself. I charge a lot because my product is worth it. That's all you have to say. It's ability to connect with other software programs we use and make transactions seamless is priceless. Pros We have been using ISN for many years and they are, by far, the most comprehensive back office/business management software. The reporting capabilities and data management is not comparable to anything else out there specific to the inspection industry. Cons There are a lot of glitches, like with any software company. Some downtime with the system but they are always quick to adjust. Do we use it every day and is it an essential tool? Yes. Do I think there can be huge improvements? Yes. Do I feel listened to as a customer? No Pros ISN is easy to use, staff can pick up on training quickly, and most of how ISN is used has a very intuitive interface. You can build out more complicated processes and streamline how you communicate with your clients relatively easily. The more you put into ISN the more automated your life can be. The automation and high level of tracking for individual orders and to the company as a whole have been the best features. Cons Ever since Porch purchased ISN they have been on a steady decline in the product and customer service. They are definitely doing forced migrations to use tools that circle back to Porch and adding another layer of complication in our communication with our clients. Customer service has also been severely lacking, as a long-time user I often feel I know more about the interworking of ISN than the first level of tech support, and problems often are not resolved or take forever to resolve. The price increase was also pitched as a saving, but in actuality doubled our costs. They also have a habit of pushing out updates on MONDAY!!! where there is pure chaos as nothing works right and we are left to limp along until they put patches and fix bugs. It has even gotten so bad that it has impacted our ability to make money. Reason for choosing Inspection Support Network Given we made this change in 2017 a lot has changed with ISN. At the time it seemed more flexible, inclusive, and controllable. It answered our need to put automation in place and remove redundancies that existed from our past system. However, our use and needs have changed over the years. That customer loyalty is not a guarantee. Using the online chat or help or calling for help has always been quick and easy. They have always helped me with any issue and told me how to make any changes I needed. I cannot imagine working without it now. Pros As a long time, user I cannot say enough good about ISN. I cannot imagine working without the service. Customer service has always been responsive, usually immediately resolving my problem or answering my questions. The system works flawlessly. I would recommend the ISN to any inspector whether its a one man shop or multi-inspector business. Cons I really struggle to find anything I least like about ISN. Over a thousand transactions and their usually flawless. Pros Been using it for 5 years. Always great customer service never any major issues. Never had any issues with security. Rarely have any bugs. After the inspection the report is easy to upload and manage. Lots of payment options. The support has been great. A company gets a good price on the product. Cons Realtors have a hard time accessing the report. I often have to reset the dashboard. I typically will have to send it to the manually. Makes for a much more efficient, effective and professional operation on a daily basis. Running a home inspection business without a product this powerful and effective is probably a dumb idea! Pros ISN has relieved the daily process of managing inspections to a powerful, concise, reliable process that gives back valuable time previously wasted moving paperwork around and chasing problems down. The customer service is fantastic, fast, reliable, and almost always immediately effective. If the answer is not provided quickly, someone will find it and get back right away. NEVER had an issue that could not be resolved, or wasn't already experienced by others and worked out. Cons It could be considered pricey until the value of time is compared, then it really is very valuable. Some of the integration is technical and gets convoluted, but once set up - seamless. This software makes it easy to have a conversation with the buyer or agent asking them about the property, what they would like to have inspected, when they would like to schedule the inspection since the calendar is right at hand and then asking them for their contact information. It's also easy to text or email the client all from one screen. Cons So far, I like everything about this software. I was pretty much self-taught and found it very easy to navigate and when I had a question, the Help Site was easy to use. November 30, 2021 5.0 Pros Before I discovered ISN everything I did was redundant... confirmation email to client, confirmation email to buyer and seller agents, email inspection agreement, send payment request ect... Now with one click of a button all personalized emails go out at once as soon as the order is scheduled. I also love that my inspection agreement and a secure credit card payment link are emailed to the client as soon as the order is scheduled. My agreement is usually signed and the inspection paid for days before the actual inspection takes place, which is nice. If the inspection is not paid when I upload the report it sends an email telling the client that their inspection report is ready to be viewed and will open as soon as payment is made. How GREAT is that? No more chasing people down for payment. These are just a few of the awesome features you get with ISN. Well worth the few dollars per inspection that you pay. Its like having a whole back office at your disposal. I honestly don't think that I could run my business without ISN. Thanks for all you do!! Cons There is not much that I don't like about this software. There are a few features that I do not use but that's what makes the software so great, is that you can pick the features you want to use and you do not have to use the features that you do not want or do not need. ISN practically runs the office for me. Pros I love the fact that it keeps all of the information that I need in one place. I love that it auto generates emails and sends out order agreements out. There are a lot of great options and updates that have come and we have been using them a lot lately. Compared to where we were when I started 4 years ago, ISN has given us a lot of tools to make things easier and more efficient. Pros I like that it helps keep track of all of our orders, clients, agents, and the schedule. Cons My biggest issue is that there are some bugs that don’t seem to have a resolution, such as the issue we are having with the time slots changing from 6 hours to 30 minutes when an edit was made. This has happened on more than one occasion and has caused us to double book our inspectors. We have talked to customer support and no one seems to be able to correct this. We really appreciate that especially when something happens in the middle of an inspection. Pros Honestly, It's the first and only one we've used. But we like the scheduling, automatic notices and reporting features the best. We have ours tailored to what we want and it's easy to make changes to the template. Cons As long as we aren't tied to other 3rd party processes I don't have any issues with ISN. We did not like the HUGE price increase. I understand having to adjust prices...but small increments more often are preferred. If it happens again like that we will have to find something else. This time we're just eating the increase. Becoming too complex, time consuming to implement, and expensive. Pros Online calendar/scheduling automation, automated emails, payment processor, and Radon Scheduler. Cons Changing from Inspection Types to Services, with agreements and types, became too time consuming to integrate. I spent years putting systems together. The effort I need to put into implementation it so time consuming that I'm considering alternative products to save money, as well. Reason for choosing Inspection Support Network I chose ISN because it was widely used in my coaching organization, MIC. It has worked very well over the years, however, I am considering other alternatives due to recent cost increases and overwhelm in options for configuration of inspection types and services. ISN is overall the best, however so many extra and new features seems to create a bottleneck in implementation. There is something to be said by keeping things simple. One can't be all things to all folks. It has made doing things like follow up emails to clients, sending agreements and providing lots of brochures to clients I likely would not do otherwise. Pros Works seamlessly to stay in contact with clients, follow up email features are fantastic! Emails reports and agreements with no effort on my part. Cons It is a pretty complex system and has taken me quite sometime to become familiar enough that I can fix most issues myself. Cons While I had a couple glitches to my inspection software or to guardian for payments the customer support was able to help quickly to get me back on track. Reason for choosing Inspection Support Network Firstly recommended by InterNACHI but after looking into it and using the free trial. I love it.
