Product Manager Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A Product Manager's Best Friend" January 13, 2026 5.0 I was a brand new Product Manager when I first used Aha, and maybe I'm still biased from it being my "first love" of an ideas tracking platform, but I haven't used anything as good as it was in the last 10 years. Pros It facilitates every possible option I could think of for idea tracking (both internally and externally), prioritization, roadmapping, integrations with other platforms, and more. Cons The natural con of a platform this powerful with this many options is that it can be intimidating to begin setting it up. It's also on the pricier side. However, I'd say that "the juice is worth the squeeze" on both of those cons. Switched from [Jira](https://www.capterra.com/p/19319/JIRA/) We were using Jira for both tracking and development. We didn't switch away from Jira, but instead used Aha! for idea-tracking, prioritization, roadmapping, and overall strategic planning, then utilized its integration with Jira for the actual development tracking. So far customer support didn't disappoint and always provided swift and good answers/solutions. Overall good value for the money. Pros It is a very powerfull solution touching almost every corner of product management. Integrations with engineering tools like Azure DevOps help keeping track with delivery without the need to recreate everything in AHA! again. Ideas portal provide a nice way of customer interaction, same as options to publish roadmaps in dedicated views. The newly introduced AI capabilities help a lot and drive efficiency. Cons Public publishing options in presentations feel a bit clumsy and it takes a while to set up a ll necessary templates and themes. Sometimes nesting of items is limited (e.g. rolling up objectives at same level, or creating Epics of Epics). Review Source FY Faizan Y. It's good for what we use it for which is building products used by millions of users. Pros I like the level of customization that is possible within the platform, how I can switch to different views and then also see what other team members are working with it allows for great project collaboration. The SSO is also a good feature too. Cons The UI seems a bit dated and sometimes within this the features can be a bit misleading. February 21, 2025 5.0 Pros We've been using Aha for several years now, and I am constantly amazed at their customer service response. Twice in the last two weeks they have pulled through for me when I was in a bind, and it meant a lot to be able to deliver on the needs of my business colleagues. \* They were able to recover some data that had been lost with a misconfigured integration, and it helped my users save face with their customer. \* The team added a datapoint to a report so I could use it as a key on another report, and they did this in just TWO DAYS! Cons Occasionally, I have issues with slow performance, for example, selecting a report or choosing an option on the screen where there is a lot of data. Pros Aha! is quite flexible, allowing organizations to set up the solution to fit the needs of their business. The multitude of different products in their offering provide a complete suite of capabilities that Product Teams can use for product planning, documentation, creating roadmaps, gathering feedback from customers, and much more. Aha!'s Support Team is also very helpful and quick to respond. Cons I've been using Aha! in several different companies, and the overall UI/UX could be improved. It comes off as a bit stale, particularly as it relates to roadmaps, which are the most critical stakeholder-facing experiences. Also, with so many customization options, that can introduce complexity and sometimes an awkward experience for new and seasoned users. It's a strong system which just works out of the box, the add ons can be frustrating as a lot of the functionality as part of workflow is additional. Pros Really easy to get to grips with, with a lot of customisable elements. The idea link up is a great feature. Cons There can be a learning curve, and the way in which you manage your portfolio, or view it, may need to change to fit into their model. I love the platform and I am delighted by the quality and friendliness of the employees. You make my projects look good! Pros They really have thought of everything! The platform has such comprehensive functionality, everything you could need to plan, deliver and communicate your product releases. With so much content, it's a tough job to ensure users can easily learn and get value from the platform but this company is Best in Class at demo's; KB articles, how to videos and live training sessions. Everything is super clear and easy to learn. Why wouldn't you want this as a Product Manager? Cons Sometimes the sheer volume of "what's possible" can be overwhelming. Simple things can be hard to figure out because you didn't notice this one setting that is active. It lets me do what I want, how I want (and I can be quite demanding). Pros The best thing about this product is the huge flexibility resulting from the degree of customisation that is available. This is dangerous if mishandled, obviously, but in a company where processes are evolving, it has allowed me to accommodate all manner of requests and requirements. Cons The UI can be a little inconsistent. Many features are paywalled; I'm constantly being upsold as if I'm on a freemium version. Some of the tools are a little unloved (text editing is clunky and unreliable, some presentation tools lack flexibility). And navigation isn't the smoothest. So impressed with the product, as well as the service. Would definitely recommend. Pros Very powerful software, and almost no learning curve compared to Jira. So much more intuitive despite having a ton of advanced capabilities. I especially love how easy it is to share information with non-users, without having to manually update spreadsheets or slide decks. Cons The Roadmaps pricing is a bit steep, but the Develop pricing is affordable enough that it makes up for it. Aha! was more flexible in terms of which software development methodologies we could practice; Trello was too purpose-built for Kanban and Linear was too specific to Scrum. I've moved more and more of my companies planning and roadmapping discipline into Aha and will continue pushing for more use of the tool. Pros The ability to customize almost all aspects of Aha make it the choice for power users. If I can imagine it, I can probably do it. And when I can't figure out how to do it, Aha's team of professionals are there to help you out every time. The company isn't sitting on their laurels either, the engagement with customers on the Ideas portal is very active and features are constantly being added and improved. Cons Integration with other tools can be complex to set up, or missing for many tools. Jira integration is very important for my company, but it doesn't always have the capabilities I'd like. I'd also like to see better integration with collaboration tools like Slack, LucidSpark and PowerPoint. I realize Aha is building competitive tools for most of those, but they are not, as of yet, mature enough to make the switch to using them. Review Source SJ Simon J. Aha Roadmaps+ offers a very compelling product planning tool that integrates directly with our Jira instance. Aha regularly updates both products with new and compelling features. Aha also reaches out on a regular basis to check in, showcase new things, and troubleshoot any issues we're having. Cons The seat-based licensing model prevents us from fully adopting Aha Roadmaps as our standard planning tool. Doing so would require our program managers, engineering managers, and designers to have paid seats. Also, as with other highly customizable tools, it's very confusing for the uninitiated. We've had to create extensive internal documentation for onboarding new product managers. Finally, we've been asking for a SOC2 report for years, Aha hasn't been willing to undertake this (ISO27001 is not equivalent). It's helpful for making a road map and organizing ideas visually for the company. Pros I like how simple it is to log requests for help and suggestions for new items. It's also great for working together on projects with other people in your team. Cons The biggest thing that bothers me with Aha is that there isn't a particularly helpful or user-friendly dashboard where you can see all of your open support issues and ideas at once.
