Teacher E-Learning Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Zoom Workplace a a tool for online teaching" August 6, 2024 5.0 As I said above, it's a perfect tool for teaching. Not only can you use the whiteboard and the screen sharing options, I can also open a document on my computer and have my student work with it. All in all it's a great app, the functions are straight forward and easy to use and at the moment it's my absolute favourite. Pros I love the option of "remote control", so that the other person can work on a document open on my computer! I use Zoom for teaching, so this is really very useful. I also like working with the whiteboard, and overall Zoom has all the functions I need. Cons I'm having troubles with the whiteboard from time to time. For example, whenever I work with the whiteboard, it automatically gets saved, so that I have to delete loads of whiteboards. I do want to save some whiteboards, that I specially prepared for my students, but not all of them! It would be great to have a bit more help on all the whiteboard functions. Also, sometimes when I open Zoom it says "No meetings", even though I do have regular meetings. When I refresh it, the meetings show. Lastly, we also use Zoom for team meetings. I got a link via email. I don't find, how I could save that link in Zoom, so I don't have to open the email every time I use it for the team meetings. The interactions and whiteboards are ways to enhance your meeting. Pros Where would I be without Zoom lol. This has been a staple resource in my role as this platform allows me to communicate with employees all over the country. In a remote work setting, it is nice to still have that face-to-face interaction. The recent update allows you to have screen interactions which are really cute. Whiteboards are a whole new world as well. Cons I think the only thing about Zoom is that sometimes when people join it says like "iPhone 15", I know that is probably just on the user, but would be nice if it was mandatory that they use a name. You can even show a page on your computer if there are notes on there that you want your staff to see. Pros I love how you can create a meeting with multiple individuals at once and it is very easy to use. All you do is create the event, date and time. Pros When it works it is great: easy to manage presentation, guests, etc. Cons When it doesn't work it's extremely frustrating in that it delays the meeting unnecessarily and make the user look unskilled to the other folks on the call. The inability to connect or loss of connection is unacceptable. The too frequent, unavoidable, updates when opening the app create further problems. Pros I am a freelance video editor and project manager. In 2021, I moved away from my hometown, and Zoom was one of the tools that made it possible for me to continue to do my work remotely with no disruption of service to my clients. In addition, during the pandemic and after, it became very useful in continuing to capture content without having to physically be in the room with someone during an interview. Cons Some of the features can be a bit confusing and hard to use. For example, I've been on teams facilitating podcast-style interviews between multiple people, and we had to figure out how to each record one stream, rather than a gallery view, so that we could edit in a multicam style after the event was over.
