It does what we need and is simple when you get the hang of it Pros I love that you can record and save your meeting with Zoom Workplace. Our business does webinars and it’s an affordable and easy way to make sure we can have a replay available! Cons It’s a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to use it for what we need (webinars). I like to screen share and I had to do a lot of work with ChatGPT to figure out how to get my PowerPoint to show, but not presenter notes. The product offering has only gotten more extensive and helpful. It really encompasses a full work suite now. That I only need one app to do a ton. Pros The thing I like most about Zoom Workplace is that it is extremely easy to collaborate with your co workers and reach them when needed. The built in AI makes things very conveinent. Pros I love that I can use Zoom for a variety of meetings or classes and it is an easy app to use for team collaboration and file management. From meetings, to zoom recording sessions to the new phone aspect, we use it in our daily workspace. Pros We used to use zoom for just meetings all the time but have recently switched our phone system to zoom and it's so nice. I don't have to miss calls now when I'm not at my desk, I can get them right to my cellphone through the zoom app. I also love that there's a narration and subtitle feature. Cons I don't like that I have to set my zoom phone hours every week being a varied hour schedule. Sometimes even outside of working hours I will still get calls that don't go straight to voicemail. It works well with my fancy video camera. Cons It can be slow to load sometimes. The cross platform from phone to PC can be frustrating. Sometimes I have to decipher the room # and pass code from a link. Definitely could be upgraded and improved but compared to competitor's apps it clearly stands out to me Pros Zoom has been my must have platform for both: work meetings and personal calls. It's really easy to set up and has convenient interface for its purpose. If you're looking for a quick and reliable connection app Zoom would definitely be the one. Cons Sometimes there is a connectional struggle especially after updates. Usually it gets fixed really quickly and doesn't bother me but it's definitely an obstacle that could be worked on. Additionally the fact that team meetings can last only 40 minutes disturbs me sometimes too. I have been an avid user of Zoom throughout college, as well as within my personal career. It is very easy to share your screen, host meetings, share file links, and adding comments in the chat. Pros Zoom Workplace is a very easy way to connect with staff for meetings, conduct online interviews, or teach an online class. It is very easy to navigate the site and hold a video call. There is also a message box option in zoom where you don’t have to interrupt the person speaking, but instead can leave a comment within there. I find this very useful! Cons I have found occasional issues when sending the zoom link to others that they are not always able to open easily, depending what site they are trying to open the link from. Very easy to use and had all the file creation, file organization, and file sharing features I need. Pros I find it very easy to navigate and has the most important things I need to get work done. It makes creating, saving and sharing files very easy. Cons It just not being used by enough people yet to make it really useful. Most people are still using Google Drive so it's just easier to use that. I think Zoom Workplace is the better product but won't be something I'm using until it's used more widely. Additional licensing for more advanced options such as integration with H323 video conferencing rooms is more expensive and the actual ‘Zoom Rooms’ kit tends be fiddly to set up correctly as they are provided by 3rd part vendors. Zoom works over the public internet so quality is governed by local conditions. Pros Team Collaboration, ease of use and value for money. Zoom is my go to for a detailed transcript for meetings and it's functionally the best among video conference out there. With the exception of the scheduling issue, it works great and does what I need it to do. Pros The ease of use is amazing. It links with my Outlook Calendar, and the quality of the audio and video is really good. I like that I am able to easily speak to the other members of my team. Cons I wish the scheduler function was better. I want to schedule things for my co-workers and boss. I don't know if it is user error, or not. The main downsides: a robust wifi connection is needed and formatting is lost from more complex documents. Pros Cost-effective live meeting AND whiteboard-type app in one. Works well on most (but not all) modern 5G or home wifi networks. Easy to share most kinds of documents. Cons This platform loses the formatting of many Office documents, especially spreadsheets and PowerPoint. If you're on a public wifi, the connection may lag or audio echo. Pros I like many of the features of Zoom compared to other video conference platforms such as Microsoft Teams. They do continue to innovate and add new features as well and it's relatively easy to use. Cons Zoom could use some improvements as with all software programs. In particular, the settings page is quite overwhelming to use. Additional features are often added without any notice, so sometimes you don't realize that you may need to evaluate a new default feature to see if it's appropriate for you until you happen to be in the settings for another reason. This ideally means collaborators should join from desktops or laptops. When using the mobile app, they are not able to follow as easily and use all the useful features. I almost wish Zoom Workplace did not have a mobile version. Cons A lot of other organizations are on various platforms similar to Zoom Workplace, so occasionally they have problems getting into our Zoom calls together, so perhaps the experience could be improved for those that don’t use Zoom Workplace normally to get into calls without fuss or delay. It’s easier than most both as a participant and as a host. Almost everyone is at least a little familiar with it which makes it easier for colleagues and clients. It’s also an excellent value for the cost since there are both paid and free versions available. The close second would be Google Meet however, I’ve found that often colleagues and clients can’t find the Google meet link where as the Zoom links always easily stay in the email or meeting notice, and often the link itself stays the same when it’s a repeating meeting or appointment, or sent by the same person. Pros Zoom Workplace still seems to be the easiest to use, and overall most widely recognized platform for virtual meetings and appointments! Cons There are a few settings I wish were slightly more customizable with backgrounds options, lighting options and audio settings.
