Right now I am a daily Zoom user and admin. Pros I really enjoy how many features Zoom has. If you need video conferencing with TONS of features Zoom is what you want. Cons If you do not need a TON of features and just want to use a simple video chat Zoom may not be for you. It is a little harder to use than something like Google Meet or Teams. I used it on daily basis and so far it has less issue with lagging or crashing. Pros They have very nice customer support. Unlike teams, it takes very less space in cpu which do not lag the device. Cons They have limited time and participant access for the free account. It would be great if they could improve that so that non-academic member could also get benefit. It is cost effective and we haven't had any issues or bugs with it. It has been simple to use. Pros We run an international business and have been using zoom since 2021. We like that it is good value for money and is easy to use. We meet with out clients internationally, we are able to share files, use the chat function and connect no matter where in the world we are. Cons There is not much that I don't like. We probably don't use it to its full capacity as we mainly use it for client meetings. Pros Zoom is really easy to use. Works with Outlook, i.e., easy to add to calendar invite, meeting reminders etc. Cons I haven't come across any cons with Zoom Workplace. For the price per month, it's a no brainer. Pros We use Zoom Workplace for our weekly team calls and connecting with everyone from around the world is such a powerful tool. Lately, joining calls that have had hundreds of people on for trainings has been amazing. Cons The one thing I'm not a fan of is how the chat operates. Sometimes, in an active chat, the notifications become too much and quite distracting. At the same time, you want to follow along with what's being said in the chat, so it's a catch-22. They refuse to let us quit. They have a 60-day evergreen clause to force you to renew if you forget to cancel. Pros It's been working fine for years. Truly an innovative product, much improved over the other guys, which was GoToMeeting and WebEx when we started. Cons We also have Google office, with free teleconferencing. Zoom is really expensive compared to free. So we only need one of them. We've done team meetings, client sessions, large webinars and even our summits - all without any technical bugs or issues! The start-up of the application, however can sometimes take a long time, and the fact that it requires an application can be cumbersome for external meetings or those who are dialling in. Pros Zoom Workplace is easy to use and the layout of video call is also effective for larger organisations. The arrangement of icons on the screen seem to be effective for various users with varying levels of capability. Cons Zoom Workplace can be more generic in terms of fit for purpose calls. 1:1 client calls can seem 'informal' from a user perspective and it appears as more of a tool for internal meetings. Great for video conferencing and video calls. I appreciate the AI note taking. I never had to use it for email and messaging. Pros Zoom workplace is great because of its ease of use. It’s so easy I rarely have to call or contact customer support. Cons There are some bugs and issues with zoom workplace. However with a software update those bugs and issue tend to be resolved. Cons Although it hardly occurs, Zoom occasionally has trouble accurately conveying audio or video. It meets my needs. Pros Zoom is a reliable platform for video conferencing for business or personal use. I use it daily at work. We have over 1000 people at our company and it works well for our purposes. But it's also easy to use for people not in the business world: during Covid, my whole family got accounts and people of all ages and technical abilities were able to got on and stay connected. Cons I can't send attachments over chat during a meeting, such as a screenshot. And if I'm talking to someone who's more familiar with Teams, Google Hangouts, or another platform, they sometimes take a minute to find the menu to mute/unmute themselves or share their screen, etc because the menu disappears. It really does help us deliver quality leadership programs across long distances. Pros The one thing I love about Zoom Workplace is that it just works and is so easy to use for video calls. For my African Leadership Programs, reliable lines are crucial, and Zoom seldom fails me. The screen sharing and breakout rooms are great for interactive training and sessions as well. It’s just a way to make remote communication easy. Cons My biggest complaint is the expense, particularly when you bump up to premium features or a greater capacity. For a nonprofit like ours, every dollar counts, and it does add up.
