### "Innovint is an essential part of our winery workflow."

June 4, 2018

5.0

Clean and easy tracking of winery inventory and operations. I am most excited about having ready access to data about past vintages as time progresses and we're looking back at previous years. Having all that data in a well-functioning system is key to our success. At my first winery job, we used very archaic software to manage production, and the burden of using that system nearly outweighed the benefits thereto. Not the case with Innovint.

Pros

Design and interface is clean, modern, and functional. Most operations are very easy to track. Configurable templates for repetitive operations allow you to customize your workflow to your winery processes. iPhone app is very handy on the winery floor for data capture and retrieval on the fly. Generating compliance forms has seemed to go very smoothly so far (hopefully that will continue as our operation gets more complex).

Cons

Really need an Android app. (I'm an iOS user, so I'm fine, but my partner in the winery is an Android guy and he's out in the cold.) I'd love to see some costing functionality added to make life easier on us from an accounting perspective. It's a little burdensome at this point to manually convey wine movements to the accountants for them to integrate into our COGS tracking.

### "Premium product with premium support."

October 4, 2025

4.0

When looking for a cellar-management software, we knew we needed something intuitive so that all generations of our team could get up to speed quickly. InnoVint mostly nails it. It's definitely the kind of tool that gets better the more you use it.

Pros

This program is highly capable and has been virtually bug-free for going-on 7 years in our operation. Customer service is white-glove, and support staff understand the industry intimately. I've never had a problem or question that support couldn't solve within an hour or two. Consistent improvement and addition of new features is a big bonus.

Cons

InnoVint is a bit pricey, and like with any program, data entry is tedious. I am excited to hear about some new AI tools coming later this year which should dramatically improve efficiency in data entry workflow.

Reason for choosing InnoVint

Honestly, this was years ago but I remember the products being quite similar but at the time InnoVint had an edge in customer service and seemed to be a bit more feature-rich.

### "Software is easy to use, but with a few bugs. Still lacking functionality and breadth of reporting"

May 31, 2018

3.0

Pros

I like the aesthetics and the intuitive interface. The searchability and sorting features do make it easy to navigate. I also like the direct connectivity to ETS (I wish the connectivity to Enartis were established too)

Cons

\- We are still getting many popup notifications "Something went wrong... try again" \_ I wish the link between the vessel and the lot number was a lot tighter and more interchangeable (It would be easier to make work orders by entering either the lot number or the vessel, vs lot number first and then choose the vessel - Lot numbers use a lot more characters than tank numbers and it is often, not always easier to remember a tank number than a complicated lot acronym) - I wish Exports to Excel would be more comprehensive - I would love to be able to make corrections in the past without having to re-enter every subsequent operations.

### "Extremely well designed and functionally robust platform. "

July 17, 2025

5.0

Great, just wish I had more time to concentrate on it. At present I am stretched really thin, requiring me to get the most bang for the buck when using it.

Pros

The basic workflow and methodology of the system that is rooted in a bottoms-up approach that is very logical. The platform combines the need to always think ahead regarding whatever is needed as input for a direct action or work order, in addition to intuitive steps to complete recording and approval of the action. The flexible and extensive reporting capabilities, in particular TTB and ABC reporting and excise tax assessment reports, are also very helpful.

Cons

Not knowing what I don't know, and what my license grants me access to. The most serious example is not knowing if cost metrics are not showing, or looking correct, because I did not enter a required input, or my license does not entitle me to that feature.

### "Much better than other programs"

April 11, 2024

5.0

Overall very good. I like the people they have hired and I enjoy using the system day-to-day.

Pros

Great customer service and set-up help. Really made sure I understood the material and how best to use all the elements. Very responsive when I have questions/problems. Pretty streamlined to use and user friendly. It seems much more geared to winemakers and cellars than other database programs (I have used 4 others in the past). The mobile option is very user friendly and easy to use as well. Good help content for troubleshooting on your own as well. Fast to record actions and move between tabs/pages.

Cons

Missing a couple features that I enjoyed from older database programs, but they are adding more stuff every month.

Switched from

[vintrace](https://www.capterra.com/p/130918/vintrace/)

I am happy I made the switch from VinTrace. They were also very flexible and helpful with getting me switched over. VinTrace tried to block me from switching and through up a lot of hurdles, which was frustrating. Innovint's customer service is 1000% better, and they were very gracious in helping me navigate the hurdles of my old database system. So even though I was forced to switch systems in August, which was very stressful as a winemaker, the transition was smooth and I was able to adjust to the new computer program quickly.

### "Maxville Winery Innovint Review"

### "Best wine production software on the market"

January 19, 2022

5.0

At my former winery, I selected InnoVint to replace another database. We had worked with a few databases and InnoVint was leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else in terms of simplicity, ease of use, intuitive UI, reporting, etc. Once we demo'd InnoVint the decision was simple. Onboarding with the support team was seamless and stress free. Managing the system is also a breeze, and the support is top notch and timely. Now as a custom crush client, using the product as a user as opposed to an admin is just as simple. The (what seems like) almost daily updates the engineers do to the software it just keeps getting better.

Pros

The user interface is intuitive and simple. Mobile app to get real time data in the cellar. Ease of writing work orders. Ability to work with different facilities under one account with a simple drop down (provided each facility uses InnoVint). The support from IV is head and shoulders above anything else in the industry.

Cons

Honestly, drawing a blank here! The team at InnoVint comes up with improvements faster than I can think of any shortcomings.

Reason for choosing InnoVint

I saw InnoVint and were sold immediately.

Switched from

[vintrace](https://www.capterra.com/p/130918/vintrace/)

User interface, demand from clients (due to ability to view across multiple facilities using InnoVint), reporting and the fact custom crush clients can write their own work orders (and build templates) directly in the system -- it made an immediate impact to our labor cost.

### "Innovint in 6,000 case (100 Ton) Winery"

February 6, 2022

5.0

Great experience. Very intuitive and easy to use. Can use across multiple platforms and devices. Customer service is great and quick to respond during harvest.

Pros

Best feature is that a majority of the program is all inclusive. Pieces that you need are not left out of the base plan. Ability to send work orders via the app to cellar crew, eliminating paper work orders.

Cons

Would be great if it included all wine in bond, including bottled wine for reporting. This is changing though with some recent updates. App is a little behind on seeing detail on historical events on wine lots and history of analysis for vineyard blocks, but this is rapidly changing and frequently being updated.

Alternatives considered

[vintrace](https://www.capterra.com/p/130918/vintrace/)

Reason for choosing InnoVint

Seems more focused on wineries of the current size that we are at. Some other software options do offer much more which is beneficial for larger companies, but would largely go unused by myself. Pricing, which is always a factor for smaller wineries, is very competitive.

Switched from

[Ezy Wine PRO](https://www.capterra.com/p/130919/EzyWine/)[vintrace](https://www.capterra.com/p/130918/vintrace/)

All inclusive nature of the program and much easier to use, especially now moving into custom crush and giving ownership to lots.

### "Forward thinking and easy to use."

January 30, 2023

5.0

We've used other platforms and felt like they all fell short--Innovint has everything you're looking for and more. The ease of functionality is a breath of fresh air.The customer support is amazing--if you don't know something they'll make it a priority to get you help.

Pros

This software is easy to use, and easy to implement. It's pretty much everything you need to track and care for your wine.-- Some things you don't know you need until you don't have it, but for 99% of things innovint already has you covered--they've already thought of it.

Cons

Case goods management is our least favorite feature because it's a little tedious--but the overall coverage is great.

Reason for choosing InnoVint

We looked at other options but innovint was the most versatile and had all the features we needed. Innovint also didn't give us a bunch of fluff to bring us on board--their product really is as good as they lead you to believe.

Switched from

[Ekos](https://www.capterra.com/p/151906/Ekos-Brewmaster/)

Ekos wasn't a match for us-- top two reasons we switched:1. Their platform was built for beer making not winemaking.2. Their customer service on a scale of 1-10, was a 1.

### "Solid Product that does Wine Production well!"

July 1, 2024

5.0

I use it from a business perspective as an Owner of the winery. I like the high level information I can get at a glance and the detailed information I can get when I really want to dig into the data.

Pros

I like the overall user interface and that it is very intuitive to use. They also take feedback and incorporate it as new features if it gets enough demand.

Cons

There are a few things that I think would make life easier on the Remove Tax Paid section but overall it's solid.

### "Great platform for winery staff and consultants!"

January 17, 2022

4.0

As a winery compliance consultant my office uses Innovint on behalf of several winery clients. From the first time I logged on I was pleased to find it to be very intuitive, easy to navigate and the overall clean look to it. As someone with decades of experience in TTB winery compliance I was really glad to see the report actually identified by it's correct form number! (5120.17) I've heard from clients that they are happy with it to. The few times I've needed to reach out to support have all been very responsive and helpful as well, which is always appreciated!

Pros

I have found Innovint to be very intuitive from the first time I used it. This is huge in the world of wine production software! For someone like myself who has used several platforms over 20 plus years it is very much appreciated to find one that is easy & attractive to navigate.

Cons

Well- you recently added what I'd been hoping to see which is tracking cased goods!

### "Innovint has thus far been user friendly. "

June 2, 2018

4.0

That's kind of an amorphous question. Innovint benefits the cellar and production dynamic in that it creates a cloud-based, user friendly way for all aspects of grapes to wine to be tracked, planned and executed.

Pros

I like how despite being on the cloud, the action on the interface is quite smooth. Comparing it to something like Google Sheets, it runs much more smoothly. Integrating the ETS analysis automatically to our records will prove useful. The robust detail in the vessel section from barrels is helpful. Being able to write notes and them compare notes on each barrel is also helpful.

Cons

Not all data can export into a csv file. For example, a 15 barrel lot of Pinot noir might have barrels making a single vineyard, barrels making a regional blend, and barrels getting declassified. The functionality of writing notes via Iphone is hugely convenient. However, the only way to access those notes is to click on each barrel individually. The notes are of the upmost importance and Innvint should be able to export those into a file. I was told the workaround for this was to create a tag, but it's not possible to create a tag with the Iphone (at least I have not found a means for doing that). The long and the short is that all the data at every level should be able to export to file. Using Excel in conjuction with Innovint for this finer data would make Innovint that much more robust.

### "Best User Interface in the Industry"

January 13, 2022

4.0

The few times I have needed support the team's help has exceeded my expectations. The software is super easy to use. They are constantly adding features that make my job easier.

Pros

The user interface encourages the database to be used frequently and often. Great functionality and features are worthless without data input. They have the best user experience in the winemaking software industry. The data lives in a place where it can readily be used.

Cons

Support used to be a private member-only software that required a separate sign-in. This has been resolved. I would have to search for something to complain about.

Reason for choosing InnoVint

Superior user interface and experience.

Our experience with InnoVint has been very good! The support and implementation team helps us a lot with everything we need. We're just starting out at InnoVint, but expectations are great!

May 31, 2018

5.0

Federal reporting, state reporting, budgeting, bulk wine sales, composition of bottled wines, alcohol percentages

Pros

Inventory on date. When I took over the reporting for this winery, they did not have a saved copy of the bulk inventory as of the end of the last year (it was May at this time) but I could still go back and create the information that I needed.

Cons

The default on the lot and vessel screens is to "hide archived" and a lot of time I need the archived info.

### "This system is rightsized for our business and we have been very happy with the service overall. "

June 6, 2018

5.0

I was able to put the whole operation in my pocket and readily accessible from any computer. This has drastically increased my productivity and overall quality of work.

Pros

QR Code functionality is great as is the overall layout of the software. I also like the ability to create barrel tags as in the past we've just been relying on duct tape and sharpie.

Cons

The mobile interface could use some updates like the ability to assign a batch for an additive to an existing work order if the creator doesn't do so for the employee. Additionally the 702 functionality seems to have some glitches when trying to generate gallons from sweetening.

### "After 20 years as winemaker, it's the best wine tracking platform I've used "

May 31, 2018

5.0

As I mentioned before, I really like how easy it has been to access the info I want

Pros

I like the ease at which I can retrieve and review information, the ease of sorting, and with barrels I like that I can add as little or as much info as I want.

Cons

Writing wo after wo, although I'm sure I just need more training to learn how to use the system better. I need to attend a training workshop. More workshops might be helpful.

### "InnoVint has been a great addition to my winery, helps us keep track of our barrels."

May 31, 2018

5.0

In the past we've used plastic envelopes with cards hanging on escutcheons on the front of the barrels to identify what wines were in them, which often would blow off leaving us scratching our heads. Then I added numbers to each barrel, but sometimes they would wash off. Now we have the QR tags from Innovint, and I can scan them with my phone to tell exactly what is in the barrel and how long it's been there! We just reviewed all of our 2017's yesterday and realized we did not have racking entered for one batch and figured out that was because we skipped over it, which was a really crucial catch.

Pros

I like being able to see my quantities of different wines at a glance. I look forward to the ease of completing my year end reports.

Cons

Getting my staff to use it! It is not quite as intuitive as I wish it were. It takes some practice to recognize what tasks are called and how they are entered.

### "For the few months I have used InnoVint, I have been very satisfied."

May 31, 2018

5.0

Tracking, live updates and analysis integration.

Pros

The interface is very clear to read, organized and totally user-friendly. The way each category is broken down and the various reporting options are fantastic. The visual interpretations of each wine lot is also a fun feature that helps make quick assessments of each lot. Work order entry and tracking is a great feature as well.

Cons

So far I have not run into any major cons with this program as I have only been using it for a short period of time. I would say that it takes some added brain power to create a work order for a complicated blend which involved many vessels, partial contents and lots.

Managing employee work, real-time analysis and evolution of wine lots, costing, inventory, and costing.

Pros

mobile device work orders are a great way to assign and follow the evolution of all wine lots. The real time analysis complements this features and allows for faster and informed decision making.

Cons

The limitation for Apple users on the phone app is a drawback as not all employees have this type of device.
