I don't have to spend the hours I used to spend handling the finances. All payments are automatically withdrawn and are deposited promptly. Communication with parents has increased to a very professional level. Our families love receiving updates throughout the day with pictures and videos of things their children are doing. We Love Brightwheel and would definitely recommend it to any size center. Pros Our center has been using for over a year now and we absolutely love it! I love the connection with parents through this software. Parents can stay up on how their child's day is going. I also like having the finances linked through the app. It is so convenient for parents. As an administrator it has become very user friendly and helps me to keep up on each class and ratios from my phone. Cons I do not like that any time I want a special report I have to submit it to be emailed. I would love to have access to more of the information as an administrator. This also goes with the financing I would like a little more control over when I send invoices dates on invoices etc. I also don't like how everything is alphabetized by first or last name. In the childcare industry birthdays are a great option to organize rooms as children move to the next room by their birthday and that is not a feature available on the app at this time. It’s also very easy to share my login info to grandparents so they can see the pictures daily. Cons Seems like several features that are available not not used by my daycare. Pros It is user friendly and never fails us- when there is an issue, it is usually an internet issue- not a issue. Customer assistance is prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. Cons That we cant send out mass emails to parents- we use the messaging system, but it would be nice to have some sort of email blaster It would also be nice to message teachers from an admin role- message the classrooms, so to speak. June 29, 2020 5.0 We were early adopters and have been using since 2015. Initially we just used the billing feature but as the new features rolled out we've integrated all of them. Using Brightwheel cuts admin time down to a minimum and allows teachers to share the day with parents so they can see their kids learning and growing. Billing is seamless. Brightwheel support has been amazing, especially through Covid19. Their webinars are helpful and to the point. Pros I love ! We've been using BW since 2015 and have saved so much time having billing, attendance and time cards at our fingertips. Cons Tracking children's immunizations is not as fluid as it could be. Too much data entry. It would be better if parents could do the data entry and admin could check against paper records for accuracy. There are quick drop-down options for users to go to, as opposed to writing everything out. When the focus has to always be on the children, any time-saving tool is appreciated. December 4, 2018 5.0 Customer service is responsive, friendly and fast. I have seen this app change and grow for the better in just a few years. If you have looked at it or tried it in the past, take a second look. This app is extremely useful. Pros My families love this app, it makes communication easy. I feel like the increase in communication through this app during the day has helped me build deeper relationships with my families, help foster more positivity and trust, and help me help them with parenting topics, concerns and encouragement. The feature I love the most is autopay, all of my families use the payment feature. I never have to worry about chasing checks or manually adding payments for tax season. Cons I have had many issues sharing multiple photos at one time. I kind of gave up using this app as my primary way to share photos and set up a private group on social media for my families instead. I did enjoy how the app would keep an archive of the photos, but it was too much of a hassle for me to get them to upload, even after doing lots of troubleshooting. They continue to add more features and functionality to make it more user friendly. The cost for premium is comparable to competitors and I feel that this is a better product. Cons As a premium member I can't log in from my phone and pick the location I want to see. I have to do that through the laptop. Therefore I can only be logged into one school at a time on my phone and I have to remember individual emails and passwords, as the same email can not be used on one account. Communication in regards to services is not flawless, not sure if it was how quickly they grew or not. Hard to get someone to email you back when you need assistance. Pros Ever since we started using Bright Wheel in our school, parents have been communicating more and faster! The ease of billing is definitely worth the price and saves time with tracking down payments and late fees. Cons The only cons I have found using Bright Wheel is in the Subsides category trying to add and change child payments mid month as some agencies tend to do. As a parent I absolutely being able to check on my child without having to call. We all know very well that phones are pretty much Everything and being able to pick mine up and see pictures, notes and activities that my child/children we doing was amazing! Cons I personally feel that if we were going to have to pay for the program to just include it within our price for childcare. My center we had to enroll which I didn’t like as well because I worked there. Also it was a separate payment to make instead of just one payment. It's easy to check in/check out my kids completely touchless. I love that the teachers can share photos, videos, and notes as well. Announcements, weather delays, etc. have all been helpful to receive in Brightwheel as well. Cons The payment function has been a little less streamlined than I had hoped. Since both my husband and I have logins, only one of us has been able to make payments which has been frustrating. My husband can make payments and see invoices/balances/tax reports, but I am unable to on the app. I have better luck logging in on my computer/browser, but would like to have that functionality on the app too. I love feeling more informed about his day. It's only as great though as the teacher is willing to use it. Some are much more active on there than others. Pros I like how easy it is to see photos and messages about my son's day. I also like how easy it is to send a message to his teachers as well as receive urgent updates or alerts (especially during the pandemic). Cons It was a little unclear how to save/update my personal information. This could have been because of my phone doing weird thing with the keyboard covering up the save button. Before our daycare used HiMama. You can tell this app is far more polished however I doubt our daycare was provided with any training. Would be nice to see our daycare utilize the calendar and training schedule. Pros \-Clean UI with in iOS -Easy to use for end users and day care teachers -Checkin kids using QR Codes -Kid profile is cool to put all your kids info with doctors, emergency pickups etc. -Daily report is fast way to see what kiddo has been up to that day Cons \-Wish I could click on one of my kids and with one click see my YTD payments -Easily itemized list of daycare payments vs registration fees vs material fees -Want to be able to directly email the daycare director vs messages always going to the teacher. Even bigger was the addition of auto pay. Developers are still adding features which is great to see. We were in the free pilot group when the app first launched but we're surprised with being moved to the full paid version. It would have been nice to have a lasting benefit for being an early adopter. Pros Navigation and usage is very simple. Everything is very clean. Cons Data exports are cumbersome and unintuitive.
