It is easy to use and is a great product to manage inventory and cost products. Pros The product is very easy to use an intuitive. I was able to import starting inventory and build recipes. I manufactured 3 items yesterday and it consumed everything correctly. Customer support is great too. Cons Not sure if it is the user(me) or the software but the purchase unit vs usage unit didn’t work for me. I buy chocolate by the case but consume lbs. From stock control, product traceability for compliance, costing and making life easier, I'd say Crafty base is best even for a smal, newl bakery such as mine Pros I loved the support the product offers. There is a lot of in product support and lots of instruction but I am a huge overthinker and the email support function was just amazing. It helped me get to grips with things and later on when I had to suspend my subscription due to a health issue that meant I couldnt work, they showed me how to capture and save my data for when i restart. It took me a little time to figure out what product features I needed and again getting me to the right solution I got great support. I had previously used a competitor product mainly because it was free. I was new to baking and software and discovered - as I tried to get reports sorted etc - that I needed a more professional piece of software and Craftybase is it. Cons It is a little more complicated than it first looks so read the help sheets and think about structure. SKUs are not compulsory but better you use them . I learn by doing rather than reading so I eventually had to start again with things. But it was no problem to the guys at teh other end of the email! Support has been fairly responsive and helpful. Setup took a lot of time and some of my employees haven't liked how long it takes to get their batch paperwork going. Printing is laborious sometimes. Pros I do like the capabilities and it being on the cloud. However there are some features that would be helpful. It made my organic inspection easy because I could just easily pull up the batches for my mass balance audit. Cons I don't like that when I assign a manufacture it doesn't give any warning about a low-stock component/material. I don't like that I can't easily see what projects have been assigned to what employee. I've love daily email digests that tell me what needs to get on order, what we're getting low on. I'd love to be able to have batch numbers that are just numerical. Right now they're both letters and numbers so I had to get new batch guns for marking my batches. It's laborious to have to change the batch numbers on the guns. I'd love to be able to see what's on hand vs. what the batch will take when I go to assign a manufacture. I'd love a button on the "manufacture's" page where I could pull up an employee's assigned projects and there would be buttons where I could see all "work in progress" "not complete" and "recently completed." Would be nice to receive an email when a batch is marked off as completed. Or if a batch status changes - X employee has started working on X batch. That would be awesome. Would love time trackers for employees so I could accurately track how long a batch is taking. August 3, 2025 5.0 Overall, Craftybase is exactly what I was looking for when I was wanting to track my inventory and products, and I love that I can set different levels of pricing and see what my profit margin is. Pros I love Craftybase because it is so easy to get started. They offer a 2-week free trial, which is basically the amount of time it took to get most of my materials and products entered. It integrates with many other software programs so it is that much easier to keep track of inventory. The pricing is reasonable, and if you can't find your answer in their chat bot, an email will get you a friendly person responding to you within 2 business days usually. They have made some updates on the look of the site, which was much needed, and they are very open to hearing your suggestions on how to make the program work better for you. I have not had many problems with the program, and the few that I have had were handled very well by the customer service department. Cons There are a few things that I would like to have as options on the site, but they are very minor (such as: drop-downs for categories, etc) It would also be nice to have the price charged in CAD, but again, a minor thing. I can always count on craftybase to keep records of my ongoing product costs and inventory counts. My spreadsheets and other programs didn't translate well. If I use scraps or left overs there is no tracking. I'm pleased with their program, customer service and time saving elements of this platform. Pros Crafty base has allowed me to get a handle on the 130 different product mixes that I currently stock on several selling platforms. At a glance I can see my inventory stock levels. Craftybase has also simplified my gross margin and I now know if my pricing is correct on our products. Customer service is excellent and quick to respond to questions. Cons Craftybase needs to increase the platforms that they sync. Our Ecwid and Tik Tok sites currently don't sync which means that I have to manually enter all orders. It has great functionality for tracking manufacturing processes from raw materials to order completion, including full compliance with EU tracebility requirements. The Craftybase support team are great and have never failed to help me with any issues during the years, and I like that they proactively take feedback on board and continuously improve the software. It’s an inventory system with a lot of organizing power. I started when my shop was small and it was still pretty time consuming to input all the supplies and figure out what all the system offers. If you’re feeling less savvy, the team offers a 1:1 meeting to help you as well. I love that this system is more easy to use and more visually appealing than the other systems I had tried. The system flows well together and it allows you to edit things when you mess up on an entry. Cons I don’t know of anything negative to say. The only issues I had were self made. As a weaver and knitter, I need to know exactly how much yarn I have in stock of each fiber, color, and dyelot. That information is easily and quickly obtained in Craftybase. Cons I would like Craftybase to have drop-down menus. For example, when choosing a category or a tracking unit, I'd much prefer to click and select rather than having to type in the first few letters of what I need. June 20, 2023 5.0 We have loved the overall experience, and haven't found anything even close to what Craftybase is capable of. It is an essential part of our workflow, and helping us maintain inventory, and recipes. We truly value Craftybase and would recommend to anyone that is a maker, crafter, or in need of solid inventory management. Pros We love the ease of use with Craftybase. We have a ton of items that we sell indiviually as ingredients, as well as combined to make other products on our shelves. Craftybase allows us to build these "components" as well keeping track of each individual ingredient. This is by far the most accurate and easiest way we've found to keep track of inventory, and recipes. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve when first starting out, but that is mostly because we had to learn the terms that Craftybase uses, and the functionality behind some of the features. There are tons of good walk-throughs in the system, as well as good examples. Customer service isn't the most reachable. If you have a question, it may take a day to hear back, and they only have email. There is no live chat, or phone support. There's no onboarding calls or dedicated support staff to really help you hit the ground running, so you'll have to spend some time really learning the system, and try and send questions that you don't need immediate answers to. Reason for choosing Craftybase Nothing else was as good of a fit in terms of our product and business style. So many inventory management programs seemed designed for large manufacturing facilities and don't have a great system in place for makers.
