### "Craftybase provides me with everything I need and is really easy!"

August 1, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Craftybase has been great. The learning curve for the system was very fast and it was very easy to figure out how I should set up my recipes, products, and manufactures.

Pros

Craftybase is able to keep accounts of my purchase orders, inventory and manufactures. It is also very flexible in allowing me to make manual adjustments when needed. I can always count on craftybase to keep records of my ongoing product costs and inventory counts.

Cons

I would like to be able to create Purchase Orders to send to vendors directly from inside of Craftybase. It would allow my order emails to be more standardized.

Reason for choosing Stocksmith

Craftybase integrates well with many platforms

### "Great ERP and manufacturing solution for makers!"

May 13, 2026

5.0

Overall, I think the software is effective and it does what I need it to do. I love that I can manage inventory and create recipes to help track costs associated with custom products. It also shows you the the cost involved so you know if you are charging enough.

Pros

I love the support and functionality of the software. It's the best I've found for makers as far as an ERP system.

Cons

I'd like to see a little more control given when it comes to deleting or merging products in bulk. I'd also like it if we could exclude some items from being imported from sales channels so if you wanted to have drop shipped items, they do not get pulled into your products section. They're constantly updating the software so hopefully this will be something in the near future.

Support was non-existent at the time we used them. You had to use Slack and even we we used it, they were slow to respond. Also, too many bugs with their software.

### "Wish it had a few more features"

November 24, 2025

3.0

Overall it's been an improvement over Soapmaker and I like being able to assign projects and check things from home. Support has been fairly responsive and helpful. Setup took a lot of time and some of my employees haven't liked how long it takes to get their batch paperwork going. Printing is laborious sometimes.

Pros

I do like the capabilities and it being on the cloud. However there are some features that would be helpful. It made my organic inspection easy because I could just easily pull up the batches for my mass balance audit.

Cons

I don't like that when I assign a manufacture it doesn't give any warning about a low-stock component/material. I don't like that I can't easily see what projects have been assigned to what employee. I've love daily email digests that tell me what needs to get on order, what we're getting low on. I'd love to be able to have batch numbers that are just numerical. Right now they're both letters and numbers so I had to get new batch guns for marking my batches. It's laborious to have to change the batch numbers on the guns. I'd love to be able to see what's on hand vs. what the batch will take when I go to assign a manufacture. I'd love a button on the "manufacture's" page where I could pull up an employee's assigned projects and there would be buttons where I could see all "work in progress" "not complete" and "recently completed." Would be nice to receive an email when a batch is marked off as completed. Or if a batch status changes - X employee has started working on X batch. That would be awesome. Would love time trackers for employees so I could accurately track how long a batch is taking.

### "Amazing basic functionality, customer support, and impressive ongoing improvements"

April 6, 2026

5.0

Overall, I love craftybase. Prior to using it, I was using spreadsheets and magic. Craftybase is a huge improvement to that sort of system, though I still use a little magic.

Pros

Craftybase has vastly improved how easily I can track my materials and product inventory for my soap, candle, and body care product business. I subscribed in 2024. There are a lot of thoughtful details in how you can set up not just recipes, but recipe precursors, that saves me a lot of time and works well with how I make master batches. It's also been great in terms of syncing with my website on woocommerce, and when there have been issues (probably entirely due to woocommerce), customer support has been so responsive and even followed up down the line to see if the issues have gotten better. Plus, they've introduced improvements in the syncing capabilities with online merchant platforms since I joined craftybase.

Cons

There are still issues in how the products sync with woocommerce, but the team has been really responsive to those and I fully trust fixes are in the works. For example, I use product bundling plugins on my website, and they don't sync properly with craftybase. They don't actually sync properly with woocommerce either haha. So many complex backend issues that I'm sure compete across the different merchant platforms. I've been really impressed with how they handle things.

### "How do I feel about Craftbase? Thankful it is there"

April 2, 2026

5.0

Awesome. From stock control, product traceability for compliance, costing and making life easier, I'd say Crafty base is best even for a smal, newl bakery such as mine

Pros

I loved the support the product offers. There is a lot of in product support and lots of instruction but I am a huge overthinker and the email support function was just amazing. It helped me get to grips with things and later on when I had to suspend my subscription due to a health issue that meant I couldnt work, they showed me how to capture and save my data for when i restart. It took me a little time to figure out what product features I needed and again getting me to the right solution I got great support. I had previously used a competitor product mainly because it was free. I was new to baking and software and discovered - as I tried to get reports sorted etc - that I needed a more professional piece of software and Craftybase is it.

Cons

It is a little more complicated than it first looks so read the help sheets and think about structure. SKUs are not compulsory but better you use them . I learn by doing rather than reading so I eventually had to start again with things. But it was no problem to the guys at teh other end of the email! And understanding what the "units" are can be tricky - at least I struggled with that for a while

### "Craftybase has helped us organize our kitting processes "

December 8, 2025

5.0

Really easy setup and a clean user friendly UI. There are some QOL drawbacks, but I have been messaging them and they are very receptive to my feedback. They even fixed a bug I found within 2 weeks. I find this company and platform very promising so far and do recommend.

Pros

Craftybase allows us to convert raw materials into products and calculate the inventory for it all. We can also enter purchase orders and have each department fill in their own information. The customer service is really helpful and responsive. I love that you can create recipes for the products and then even output a BOM from that.

Cons

Craftybase isn't quite set up for the type of business we run and the current UI has some small setbacks. They are very open to discussion, though, and are working with me through my requests. Which is huge.

### "Better Options Out There?"

September 19, 2025

3.0

I may go to the trouble of migrating to a different inventory management software. Talking to Inventora right now about the ease of this. Having materials automatically deduct when I sell a product is very basic functionality that I should not have to pay $1,000 / year to have.

Pros

Loved being able to create recipes from materials to identify exact costs for each product I sell. Loved being able to update a material cost and have it manifest in all the product recipes automatically to have an accurate cost of goods for each product.

Cons

It is an obvious "money grab" for them to block the "auto-manufacture" feature to force you to upgrade to a much more expensive plan. After all the work of entering your materials inventory and product recipes, when you sell a product the software will NOT automatically deduct the materials from your inventory UNLESS you pay for a more expensive plan. As soon as you go back to a less costly plan, they block this very basic feature. This very basic feature - deducting materials when a product sells so you can properly manage your materials inventory - should be included in the Studio Plan but they force you to upgrade to the 2x as expensive Indie Plan.

Response from Craftybase

September 23, 2025

Thanks for your review, and great to hear you have found our recipe and costing features useful. I’m sorry the plan change felt like a "money grab", this was never the intention. Auto-manufacture (auto-deducting materials when orders import) sits on Indie because it’s an advanced, resource-heavy workflow (multi-channel orders, backdating, edge cases). Keeping it there lets us price Pro & Studio lower for makers who prefer manual manufacturing and allows us to provide quality support that the feature truly needs. Downgrading never locks your data-features outside the plan just turn off. You can still keep inventory accurate on Studio using standard manufacture steps; automation is optional. If auto-deduct is essential, Indie’s the right fit for you. If you’re optimizing for price, we can help you review your current Studio processes - feel free to get in touch to discuss. Appreciate the candid feedback.

### "A dream come true for our business"

September 8, 2025

5.0

I am so please with the customer service, the help bot, and the interface of the app. The business of manufacturing of products is new to me the past two years. Prior to that the businesses I have run have all been service based. To have a program like Craftybase allows me to capture all of the data I need for our certifications and government compliance in Australia. Plus, all of the data for our accountant at tax time. I am better able to run the business knowing my profit per product made and love that it allows me to add in my cost of time.

Pros

I have been searching for ways to organise my business. We make soap and skin care products, so I have many manufacturing recipes, suppliers, and costs to account for. Craftybase was a dream come true. I had about 50 scraps of paper with notes and was manually calculating my cogs at the base of my recipes. Now, everything is in Craftybase and when I manufacture a product, it updates my inventory as well.

Cons

I am learning the interface between Shopify and Craftybase. I am hoping I can learn how to have Craftybase update my inventory in Shopify when I manufacture a new product. It maybe I haven't found it yet. I've only been working in Craftybase a week, but already the improvement to my business is immeasurable.

### "Worth the cost"

May 11, 2026

5.0

Pros

The ability to easily and accurately track my purchases, orders, materials and products. I tried to do this for with Excel spreadsheets for years and I as constantly struggling to account for extra/missing materials and inventory that was all due to user error on my part. Craftybase is really slick and I won’t go back.

Cons

It’s a bit expensive for my low-volume knitting hobby sales - even though I only do Pro level ($240/yr), I probably only gross 2-4x the subscription cost. Not being able to run more reports at this cost level is sometimes frustrating. And I’m not selling on Etsy any more, doing craft shows, so order tracking is now manual for me.

### "Love Craftybase!"

June 4, 2026

5.0

I have had a wonderful experience using Craftybase and will continue using it for my small businesses.

Pros

Perfect for small businesses. The tutorials and help pages are great and the help team is exactly what they should be - helpful! Emails are returned within a timely manner and they are very courteous. The program itself is easy enough to understand once you've gone through the help pages and you can go back and review at any time. The tier pricing is a good value for where you are in your specific business. I'm a big fan!

Cons

I didn't like that you could not change the photo in products/materials/etc., but they upgraded that feature so now you can!

### "Needs Improvement, but Still the Best Software I've Used!"

November 14, 2024

4.0

Customer service is great - They are always there to answer my questions and help me out if I'm stuck on something. Also, during my trial period I received an email every day teaching me how to use the software. The user friendliness and the customer service is why I am sticking around!

Pros

I love how user friendly the software is, and how easy it is to track everything. The software has you do a stock take every month to make sure your inventory is on par and adjusts accordingly. Also, there are many reports that can be printed out for various things such as current inventory, current materials, profit and loss statements, etc.

Cons

There are some issues with matching purchases to listings unless you "manufacture" the items for you listings. I tie a purchase to a listing but it doesn't change the stock level until I "make" it, but I buy some things already pre-made so that can be a little redundant. Also, I wish the software would tie in the fees and shipping to each item so I can see actual net profits for each item.

### "Amazing for 5+ years, still great features but pricing is not worth it."

August 8, 2024

5.0

The staff is friendly and helpful. If you are a very small business starting out it will be worth it for you. Scaling up is difficult though because they overcharge now.

Pros

I think it has many perks for handmade vendors who are small - it's tough to scale up but until you do, the recipes feature is perfect for keeping track of components. and the platform is really user friendly and designed well.

Cons

Quality is amazing, but pricing not so much. For many years it was reasonable but recently they raised it too high and the benefits do not equal the pricing increase. I have been with them for so long that moving at this point is difficult, and requires inventory counts and closing my shop to move it over, so I have yet to move. I felt like legacy clients had quite a shock when the price went up x5 (literally my price went up that much without exaggeration). It is tough to recommend to people I know because once you do the work to enter all your items and create the recipes, moving it when they can raise prices unexpectedly is why most people do not trust subscription-based services.

### "Crafty is Simple and Straightforward. Worth the Money"

July 11, 2023

5.0

Crafty has streamlined our inventory management, with a slight learning curve and ability to handle the needs of our business. So far we are very happy with the software and excited to see how it evolves. Small issues are to be expected with such a system handling so much data everyday, the support team is friendly and efficient.

Pros

The ease of setting up everything and the user interface is very friendly and easy to navigate.

Cons

We had some trouble with the "Product Bundle" process when compenentizing our products, a lot of our wholesale sales channels include "Tester" products which is the same as the product. This created duplicates of products in Crafty which resulted in us having to spend more time fixing issues.

### "The Backbone of my Business Systems"

July 14, 2025

5.0

My experience has been great. I've rarely had to reach out to customer service, and when I did they were pleasant and quick. The documentation for Craftybase is thorough, but can be a bit overwhelming for some folks who are new to tracking manufacturing builds, inventory, etc.

Pros

Craftybase makes it super simple to track all of my inventory and materials. It also made it easy to see which of my products - and sales channels - were profitable, and which were not. This made making decisions about my product development easy.

Cons

I'd love to be able to make custom APIs to help link all of my apps together to streamline data entry and focus a bit more on making my products. For example, Craftybase tracks most of my expenses, but I supplement it with Wave to capture all of my accounting needs. It tracks recipe components, but it's hard to capture all of the instructions in the notes field - so I supplement with Notion. But Craftybase is definitely the backbone of all of my business systems.

It is mostly intuitive. I've learned lessons since is started using it and almost want to start over to keep everything clean. Overall the price seems ok for the market and it saves you from having to develop lots of spreadsheets or your own database

Pros

I like that I can use it for inventory and manufacturing tracking. I like that I can store my recipes and it integrates with my point of sale.

Cons

I would like to be able to bundle existing products rather than having to recreate all bundled products in a different area to get pricing recommendations and cogs

### "Good Platform for Crafters"

August 1, 2025

Easy to use. Good platform for crafters. Staff is very responsive and always address bugs or issues.

Pros

Easy to use to create products, recipes, track purchases, manage inventory and orders. It also offers many reports like Profit & Loss, Customers, Orders, Material, Manufacture & Product Tracking.

Cons

The monthly subscription is a bit pricey especially with the exchange rate to CAD. I'm sure the order imports are streamlined on the US version, but in Canada, I wish I had the ability to edit imported order prices or an editable exchange rate feature would be added. The exchange rate is assumed when the order is imported, but it's not accurate to what the actual payouts are, so I end up having to copy my order to be able to edit prices and delete the imported version.

### "Third Times a Charm!"

February 11, 2025

5.0

Overall I love Craftybase, its been hard for me getting started, but now that I have, I see the wonderful advantages, and I am so proud of myself for seeing this through this time, and making my business 100% better organized. I am looking forward to all of the data I can look at as we grow with this program Thanks to all the wonderful reports you have access to with Craftybase!

Pros

As a product maker keeping up with all our supplies and materials has been an absolute nightmare as we have grown through the years, moving forward we needed to do something different, but there was not an answer for our unique industry, until we found Craftybase, I can't describe the joy of finally getting my inventory, recipes, materials all finally organized, and within a few clicks of the keyboard I know exactly what I have on hand, what I need to order, what I can wait to order, no more ordering things we don't need by accident, and the reports that come along with Craftybase are an absolute HUGE BONUS! I truly LOVE this program.

Cons

I have subscribed to Craftybase 3 times! Each time it seemed so overwhelming, and I was having a difficult time with the learning curve, plus I tried it the first time right before our Christmas season kicked off and I was already overwhelmed with that and gave up on CB, the 2nd time once again, right before my busy holiday season, this time I started in January the slowest time of the year for me, and I have been able to concentrate on the task at hand, it is no easy undertaking, but I understand the program 100% better this go round and I am almost finished with the bulk of the materials, recipes, inventory, etc. and I see light at the end of the tunnel now! This program, now that I understand it, is absolutely AMAZING! I knew it would be, but it is ALOT of work to get it going, and as a small business owner, extra time is something of a rarity, and this is a large task to get CB going. So far the thing I really don't like....I need to update inventory twice, once in Craftybase when we make the manufacture, then I must turn around and update it in my Shopify, if I do not update in my Shopify, our Point of Sale in store forces us to do additional steps on the register to complete the sale, so thus a pain, but bearable, but it would be fantastic if the manufacture we created automatically updated our stock in Shopify.

### "Craftybase is a lifesaver"

January 31, 2025

5.0

ICraftybase is what I use. It was a lifeline for me because I had websites and Etsy shops, and I had inventory in local boutiques prior to the pandemic (one of the more expensive programs offers the opportunity to operate a consignment shop).

Pros

I like it all around, and I'm glad they're always introducing new features. For someone like me, the inventory system is absolutely essential, and there aren't many products available at this price range that can accomplish it." "I love that I can keep track of all of my Expenses and create recipes with all of my materials and It will tell me the amount that I need to charge to make a good profit." "Craftybase is incredibly user-friendly. For months, I've been searching for software to assist me track inventory at different levels for the things I create.

Cons

I might click in the field and then begin entering the order or product, only to discover that my concentration was diverted and nothing was entered. "You have to actively go in and check to see which products are running low on a regular basis because you may set low inventory alerts, but it doesn't tell you. It seems to negate the alert's purpose. "The implementation has been difficult because I have so many raw materials and many are liquids so it’s hard to estimate at start-up."

### "Best thing ever!"

5.0

As a handmade soap maker, Craftybase has been a game changer for my business. It tracks all my raw materials—oils, fragrances, packaging—and automatically updates inventory as I make batches.

Pros

How easy it is to use for my soap business s. I love how it calculates the cost per bar and factors in labor and overhead, which makes pricing much easier and more accurate. It also keeps track of sales from my website and Etsy.

Cons

What I like least, though, is the learning curve—setting everything up in the beginning felt overwhelming, especially importing products and materials.
