### "Better Options Out There?"

September 19, 2025

3.0

I may go to the trouble of migrating to a different inventory management software. Talking to Inventora right now about the ease of this. Having materials automatically deduct when I sell a product is very basic functionality that I should not have to pay $1,000 / year to have.

Pros

Loved being able to create recipes from materials to identify exact costs for each product I sell. Loved being able to update a material cost and have it manifest in all the product recipes automatically to have an accurate cost of goods for each product.

Cons

It is an obvious "money grab" for them to block the "auto-manufacture" feature to force you to upgrade to a much more expensive plan. After all the work of entering your materials inventory and product recipes, when you sell a product the software will NOT automatically deduct the materials from your inventory UNLESS you pay for a more expensive plan. As soon as you go back to a less costly plan, they block this very basic feature. This very basic feature - deducting materials when a product sells so you can properly manage your materials inventory - should be included in the Studio Plan but they force you to upgrade to the 2x as expensive Indie Plan.

Response from Craftybase

September 23, 2025

Thanks for your review, and great to hear you have found our recipe and costing features useful. I’m sorry the plan change felt like a "money grab", this was never the intention. Auto-manufacture (auto-deducting materials when orders import) sits on Indie because it’s an advanced, resource-heavy workflow (multi-channel orders, backdating, edge cases). Keeping it there lets us price Pro & Studio lower for makers who prefer manual manufacturing and allows us to provide quality support that the feature truly needs. Downgrading never locks your data-features outside the plan just turn off. You can still keep inventory accurate on Studio using standard manufacture steps; automation is optional. If auto-deduct is essential, Indie’s the right fit for you. If you’re optimizing for price, we can help you review your current Studio processes - feel free to get in touch to discuss. Appreciate the candid feedback.

### "A dream come true for our business"

September 8, 2025

5.0

I am so please with the customer service, the help bot, and the interface of the app. The business of manufacturing of products is new to me the past two years. Prior to that the businesses I have run have all been service based. To have a program like Craftybase allows me to capture all of the data I need for our certifications and government compliance in Australia. Plus, all of the data for our accountant at tax time. I am better able to run the business knowing my profit per product made and love that it allows me to add in my cost of time.

Pros

I have been searching for ways to organise my business. We make soap and skin care products, so I have many manufacturing recipes, suppliers, and costs to account for. Craftybase was a dream come true. I had about 50 scraps of paper with notes and was manually calculating my cogs at the base of my recipes. Now, everything is in Craftybase and when I manufacture a product, it updates my inventory as well.

Cons

I am learning the interface between Shopify and Craftybase. I am hoping I can learn how to have Craftybase update my inventory in Shopify when I manufacture a new product. It maybe I haven't found it yet. I've only been working in Craftybase a week, but already the improvement to my business is immeasurable.

Reason for choosing Craftybase

The fit with our manufacturing line. It has an easy interface and Craftybase has thought of everything! From recipes, cogs, suppliers, inventory management. All in one app.

### "Great Program"

January 21, 2026

5.0

Craftybase has been an absolute game-changer for my small, witchy craft business. Their customer service is always on point—whether I have a general question or run into a technical issue, they’re friendly, helpful, and incredibly quick to respond.

Pros

The program itself is amazing. It makes managing material and product inventory so easy, helps me track my consignment locations, and allows me to bill out craft events without stress. Everything feels intuitive and thoughtfully designed for makers.

Cons

At this time, my only real challenge is around returns and exchanges. There isn’t currently an option within orders to process a customer return or exchange. I’ve tried using negative adjustments as a workaround, but it doesn’t fully capture the transaction the way a true return or exchange feature would. Similarly, on the purchasing side, there isn’t a way to create a vendor credit memo or process a refund for materials that were returned. Having built-in return, exchange, and credit memo functionality—for both customers and vendors—would make the system even more complete and eliminate the need for workarounds.Overall, this is a minor gap in an otherwise excellent program.

### "The Backbone of my Business Systems"

July 14, 2025

5.0

My experience has been great. I've rarely had to reach out to customer service, and when I did they were pleasant and quick. The documentation for Craftybase is thorough, but can be a bit overwhelming for some folks who are new to tracking manufacturing builds, inventory, etc.

Pros

Craftybase makes it super simple to track all of my inventory and materials. It also made it easy to see which of my products - and sales channels - were profitable, and which were not. This made making decisions about my product development easy.

Cons

I'd love to be able to make custom APIs to help link all of my apps together to streamline data entry and focus a bit more on making my products. For example, Craftybase tracks most of my expenses, but I supplement it with Wave to capture all of my accounting needs. It tracks recipe components, but it's hard to capture all of the instructions in the notes field - so I supplement with Notion. But Craftybase is definitely the backbone of all of my business systems.

### "A HUGE benefit and time savings for my business!"

August 3, 2025

4.0

There aren't a lot of affordable options for indie makers and overall this is the best program I have found that connects to all the other platforms I use and makes tracking SO much easier!

Pros

I really appreciate Craftybase in my business. It is invaluable for inventory/ingredient/recipe tracking. It is easy to use and I have had very few issues over the past few years of using it.

Cons

My biggest struggle with the platform is that I make cosmetics. I often need to calculate percentages and values. This software is really focused on crafters and so I often have to go elsewhere for keeping track of formulating details, some of the calculations and taking notes about each manufacture is a little bit challenging. I would also really like to see the variations be a little easier to use and a bundling option.

### "Craftybase saves me lots of time to manage my jewelry business"

August 1, 2025

5.0

I had been using Craftybase for more than 8 years. It was very easy to learn in the beginning and to make the transition from excel to their platform. Using Craftybase is really worth the money paid, it has saved me a lot of time to managing my inventory, generating quotes for custom products, and reordering materials for big orders. So I can invest more time in the creative part of my business thanks to Craftybase!. I know my info is secure with Craftybase and that I’m in good hands.

Pros

What I like the most about Craftybase are three things: their staff and costumer service, their friendly environment, and how everything is connected in the design of their platform. I had found answers to all of my questions along the way and whenever I needed to resolve bugs and issues their staff where very happy and quickly to help!

Cons

The only thing I like least about Craftybase is that their basic subscription had less and less basic features with the time.

### "Craftybase Has Been a Game-Changer for My Business"

August 1, 2025

5.0

Pros

I have been using Craftybase for several years and it has been phenomenal for my growing business. I make my own products using raw materials, and I like that it has the ability to track the entire production process and manage inventory. Because of this, it also serves as a point from which I can compare against my Shopify product counts. Whenever I’ve had an issue (which isn’t often), customer service has always been quick to help.

Cons

I hope that in the future, it could have an additional sync option that pushes product counts up to Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, etc. I have to pay for another app for this feature, and it would be so handy to have it integrated into one program. I also wish that it had more support for multiple locations. For instance, if I have a sale on Amazon FBA, it deducts it from my main product count, even though I have set aside products for Amazon’s warehouse (and they don’t pull from my main inventory). Right now, it’s a pretty manual process.

### "Great inventory tracking for makers"

August 1, 2025

4.0

While there is a bit of a learning curve and it takes a good amount of time in the beginning to import all your materials, assign recipes to products, etc, once you’re in a groove it’s easy peasy to maintain.

Pros

I love how easy CraftyBase makes tax time! It keeps track of all my materials, each product has a “recipe” and it deducts my materials with each sale. So if I’ve been keeping up with everything, I just run a couple quick reports and taxes are a breeze. I use it to track all my expenses, too and categorize everything. It also imports orders directly from my website as well as square invoices.

Cons

The reporting could be better. I am licensed to sell certain products and haven’t figured out an easy way to pull a report to pay royalties on just those specific products.

### "Worth it for small business crafters"

August 1, 2025

4.0

It is mostly intuitive. I've learned lessons since is started using it and almost want to start over to keep everything clean. Overall the price seems ok for the market and it saves you from having to develop lots of spreadsheets or your own database

Pros

I like that I can use it for inventory and manufacturing tracking. I like that I can store my recipes and it integrates with my point of sale.

Cons

I would like to be able to bundle existing products rather than having to recreate all bundled products in a different area to get pricing recommendations and cogs

Pros

### "Highly Recommend! "

Overall, Craftybase makes managing my small business materials, products and expenses easy. I highly recommend it if you have a small handmade business.

Pros

I like that Craftybase makes it easy to manage all my products, materials, inventory, and expenses in one place. I love its automatic manufacture feature the best though. It saves so much time!

Cons

It was a little bit of a learning curve to set it all up, but that may have been more me and my understanding on inventory management at the time.

### "Great tool for figuring out handmade product costs!"

August 1, 2025

5.0

Overall I would highly recommend Craftybase to handmade businesses. Once you get the hang of things and learn how it all works, it becomes easier and a great tool for properly figuring out costs etc.

Pros

Craftybase helps me VERY easily figure out costs of the products I create. There is really nothing else like it out there.

Cons

There are occasional glitches or delays in the system updating something I have input. I have to refresh a bunch till I see that it's in there.

### "Craftybase Review"

Pros

Crafty base is very user friendly and there was not much of a learning curve for me. I converted from an excel- based spreadsheet system and Craftybase saves me so much time and headache when calculating cost of my products and keeping track of my inventory. Whenever I have an inquiry about anything, someone always gets back to me quickly. Outstanding customer service.

Cons

### "Craftybase: A Must-Have Tool for Streamlined Small Business Inventory Management"

August 5, 2025

4.0

Craftybase has been a game changer for my small business. It offers great value for the money, especially considering how comprehensive the features are. From tracking raw materials to logging sales and expenses, it keeps everything organized in one central place.

Pros

The user interface is intuitive and easy to learn, making it a solid option even for those of us who aren’t super tech-savvy. I also appreciate the detailed reports that help me stay on top of profitability and pricing.

Cons

The biggest drawback for me is that Craftybase doesn’t yet sync with all of my e-commerce platforms, which means I still have to enter some data manually. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does add a few extra steps to my workflow. Still, for the overall value, functionality, and peace of mind it provides, I highly recommend Craftybase to any small business owner who needs to manage both product inventory and materials efficiently.

### "Good Platform for Crafters"

August 1, 2025

5.0

Easy to use. Good platform for crafters. Staff is very responsive and always address bugs or issues.

Pros

Easy to use to create products, recipes, track purchases, manage inventory and orders. It also offers many reports like Profit & Loss, Customers, Orders, Material, Manufacture & Product Tracking.

Cons

The monthly subscription is a bit pricey especially with the exchange rate to CAD. I'm sure the order imports are streamlined on the US version, but in Canada, I wish I had the ability to edit imported order prices or an editable exchange rate feature would be added. The exchange rate is assumed when the order is imported, but it's not accurate to what the actual payouts are, so I end up having to copy my order to be able to edit prices and delete the imported version.

### "CraftyBase is one of the most detailed systems I've ever used!"

August 2, 2025

5.0

I love CraftyBase. Do I sometimes fail to keep up with it and have to recount all of my inventory? Sure. Do I keep going back to it and getting it caught up to date? Yes. I would recommend this for any business owner (small or large) who is in some field of production or assembly work.

Pros

I love that CraftyBase makes it easy to see inventory, reorder materials, and more, all in one place. It also has a ton of features! One of my favorite features is the Components tab.

Cons

This software is a beast, but in the best way possible. By that, I mean there is a huge learning curve. It took me several "attempts", if you will, to fully understand the inner workings of the software. I spent hours adding, deleting, and editing things, but it is 100% worth it once you get the hang of it and find a setup that works best for your business. Now, training my team members to use it is a bit tricky, but I have to trust that they'll learn through trial and error, just as I did, and not make too many mistakes in the process.

### "Worth it! Stay organized and know the true cost of your product."

December 1, 2025

5.0

Great experience. I like the quick response, knoweldge base is always helpful and it seems to have everything I need and some that I didn't know I needed yet.

Pros

Easy to use, and customer service is FANTASTIC. Any and all questions I have had have been addressed quickly and completely. I can easily navigate the system to create recipes, log purchases, and monitor my material levels. I am also looking forward to trying out the new integration with QuickBooks.

Cons

I would like to be able to inventory non-COGS items by name/description. Such as shipping items. Honestly this may be an option, and I just haven't used it yet. I just decided I needed to do this.

### "Craftybase is a lifesaver"

ICraftybase is what I use. It was a lifeline for me because I had websites and Etsy shops, and I had inventory in local boutiques prior to the pandemic (one of the more expensive programs offers the opportunity to operate a consignment shop).

Pros

I like it all around, and I'm glad they're always introducing new features. For someone like me, the inventory system is absolutely essential, and there aren't many products available at this price range that can accomplish it." "I love that I can keep track of all of my Expenses and create recipes with all of my materials and It will tell me the amount that I need to charge to make a good profit." "Craftybase is incredibly user-friendly. For months, I've been searching for software to assist me track inventory at different levels for the things I create.

Cons

I might click in the field and then begin entering the order or product, only to discover that my concentration was diverted and nothing was entered. "You have to actively go in and check to see which products are running low on a regular basis because you may set low inventory alerts, but it doesn't tell you. It seems to negate the alert's purpose. "The implementation has been difficult because I have so many raw materials and many are liquids so it’s hard to estimate at start-up."

### "Craftybase - Powerful inventory and organizing database "

April 24, 2025

5.0

I have had a great experience with Craftybase. I started when my business was small, and I am still learning all it has to offer as my business grows. I’m looking forward to growing my business with Craftybase for many years to come.

Pros

Craftybase helps me keep track of my inventory - both raw materials and finished products - while also providing me with the forms and reports I need to monitor my business. It syncs seamlessly with my Etsy shop and helps keep track of orders and costs.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but the system does have a steep learning curve. Of course it does. It’s an inventory system with a lot of organizing power. I started when my shop was small and it was still pretty time consuming to input all the supplies and figure out what all the system offers. If you have a lot of inventory, just be ready to spend some time entering your information. Once it’s in, though, the database is reliable.

I'm grateful we have found Craftybase to help us with inventory management, and excited to see how this continues to improve our efficincies as a company.

Pros

It has been a pretty seamless one stop shop for the size scale we are as a company. It is also affordable in comparison to other alternative options out there, which we really appreciate. The customer service has been excellent at every turn too when we have questions.

Cons

It has been a slight undertaking to have everything set up as we get up and running, but does seem like once the up front work is done, we should be rocking and rolling.

### "Very happy and thankful CRAFTYBASE user"

August 1, 2025

5.0

I’ve been using CRAFTYBASE for 6 years now, and I can’t imagine not having it. I’m so happy I spent the time initially setting it up (it’s a lot of work) but if you do it right it just runs itself. I can’t imagine trying to calculate COGS and manage inventories on my own. And, again, the staff are so helpful and responsive to needs and questions. I feel like I know them.

Pros

What I like most about CRAFTYBASE is how attentive and accessible the staff is. Whenever I’ve had ANY issue, big or small, they quickly respond and work with me until it is solved. I feel that they really care and want you to succeed with your business.

Cons

The only con I can think of is the price — but in the end, even that has been well worth it. The amount of time and aggravation saved over the years is invaluable.
