Comments: Great software, will continue to use.

Pros: Easy to upload and organize drawings in multiple version sets, make custom tags, and callouts all automatically hyperlinked

Cons: OCR technology is not perfect (though none are), and some sheets require additional cleanup to get titles and sheet numbers correct.

Pros: Awesome customer support. Great features. Awesome for construction and collaboration between different trades on a job site.

Comments: partnership with Esub is good - build on getting more into that program as well.

Pros: ease of use- field has taken full use of this app - I have never seen the field accept an app like this. they like it because it is user friendly. customer service has been excellent. app is fast and reliable. ROI is hard to establish, but I know we are saving time..

Cons: the price as a company would be something to look at - If I have 400 people using, I would probably not want to pay that much per person per year.

Pros: How all the plans are linked together so that you can go straight from the plan view to the detail that is called out.

Cons: The reports for the punchlist could be more editable as far as the layout is concerned. There were only a few ways to sort the items

Pros: That it uploads drawings pretty quickly and users have the ability to work on other things while drawings are being uploaded/downloaded. I am also excited to use the punch list tools which generates a nice clean report.

Cons: It does not have a Search tool to have the ability to find key words and phrases. It seems like they are working on it but it would be very benificial

Comments: I recommend Plangrid to my colleagues.

Cons: I wish that the reporting tools were easier to set up. I have to make my own report because the ones provided are not very intuitive.

Comments: Works great with ipad. Android use has had some quirks, but it seems to be improving.

Pros: Love the fact that changes can be shared on the fly to hand-held devices without having to redistribute paper drawing pages or sets. Feedback and field dimensions can be shared more quickly and efficiently than when we were working with paper sets.

Cons: Its a little pricey if some team members need only occasional use. However, there is no small group option, which makes it a little more difficult to share with sub-subcontractors.

Comments: Great app, great support. If you need to be mobile and don't like to carry around your construction drawings, this is a great tool!

Pros: This product is easy to use and easy to install. The support is awesome. They answer my questions very promptly and are very knowledgeable. Many neat features but even if you just want to view and mark up drawings, this is a great tool.

Pros: easy to use, fast and a lot of good features forcing teams to work in the same environment (in a good way!)

Cons: expensive, even with a entreprise agreement. integration with other platforms limited therefore creating new types of silos. Other products are either cheaper or still have the startup feel of making you feel like a priority.

Overall: ease of access to plans, takes care of versioning issues, markup collection or even punchlists

Comments: We have had to conform our workflow to how the program operates. Consequently, things are spread out, disorganized and filled with duplicates. Issues with uploading have caused us to wonder if all our drawings are really uploaded or not; there's no time for second guessing! This program has lots of potentials it could be fantastic but currently is frustrating to use.

Pros: Automatically searches for and creates hotlinks between drawings; automatically names sheets, as well All drawings are stored and synced in the cloud, easily shared with others, even if they don't own a subscription to PlanGid

Cons: Not all features are available in the different platforms (Online, Desktop and App versions) and you have to switch between them too frequently Creating and managing "Version Sets" is confusing and doesn't always make sense for every drawing Cannot comment or mark up supplemental documents; comments on sheets are hidden, no notifications are sent out when someone comments Unable to create folders for projects. We have multiple types of drawings for each projects, and some

Comments: Very simple to use. I'm not général contractors so I don't need all the features but what I use is pretty good. I started with the hammer subscription put all my Plans and I was thinking that 50 sheets were going to be free all the time but then a received email forcing me to pay $ To upgrade to 550 sheets in the App Store. But on the website, $ gives me 5000 sheets. I'm also using Procore so it is very easy for me to compare the app.

Pros: Like that, I can scale distance and Draw on the PDF link my attachment and photos.

Cons: I do understand why I can't zoom like in another app that open PDF. But for me I find myself wanting to zoom just a little bit more. And a wood uses a back button or undo button for annotations.

Comments: I do business with dozens of GC's and every one uses different software to host construction docs. Plangrid is the only one that shifts the hosting expense to subs. A $ per year expense. Unanticipated during estimating. Ridiculous. GC's: if you are the one guy pulling this on your subs, don't expect priority pricing in the future.

Pros: Intuitive and ergonomic functionality. It keeps files up to date and automatically supersedes old files.

Cons: The cost to share with other team members. If I have a project that has multiple subs that have a Project Manager, Asst Project Manager, Field Superintendent and Foreman who need to have the most updated drawings and each has to pay the fee then it gets pricey on their end. So I think Plan Grid should sell package/licenses s to subcontractor teams so they can distribute to their team in-house which you screen through their email address.

Overall: Plan grid has been useful for our team to be one step ahead of the game in document control. I am currently working on a larger project with multiple files, especially ASIs. As a result, the overlay capabilities makes it easier to keep up with drawings that have been superseded and have the most current jobs in the field.

I like the ability to tag drawings by discipline and in my case phases. The ability to hyperlink drawings to compile an as-built set or update current drawings with referenced RFIs, ASIs or SK drawings is extremely useful.

I wish that plan grid would allow users that admins share files (i.e. subcontractors) have the ability not to pay. I think the GC should be responsible for payment , management, and distribution of files. Plan grid should sell perhaps licenses to the GC company and not charge individual subs a monthly fee just to review drawings. As a result, after the trial period ended none of the subs for my job signed up to use Plan Grid. Consequently, I've been using Bluebeam Revu Studio which has similar capabilities and users download a free software through Bluebeam that allows access to all the project folder and files. What Plan Grid has over Bluebeam currently is the OCR to recognize sheet names through the plan index and this is a standard feature; however, in order for Bluebeam to mimic Plan Grids basic principle, it seems like an added cost. Overall I like the software for in-house management but as far as the sharing it with the subs and getting them to use it for a project entirety it has been a struggle. Therefore I think they should either consider lowering the rates for additional users.

Recommendations to other buyers: For viewing on PC , if there is an older version have a big red stamp that says SUPERSEDED or OLD VERSION flash across the screen so the user knows he is in the older version. I think there is a caution like a symbol on the tablet version, but it is not as obvious on the PC platform.

The greatest tool I have ever been given.

Comments: Being in construction for over 31 years this product lets me lots more efficient in the field. I have all my documents on my tablet. No more wasted time to and from the office trailer. I can make split decisions, quality control, correct directions on the spot.

Pros: Having all my documents at my fingertips, drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals with me at all times.

Cons: There is none as far as I'm concerned. The perfect app.

Pros: I like the ability to communicate issues and changes across the whole project team. Another great part of this software is the ability to assign users and the permissions you want them to have on a project.

Cons: It is not as intuitive as it could be. It was a little bit difficult to get started with it. However, that could be due to the fact that this is the first product of this type I have tried to use.

Pros: I really like the ability to tap on a detail and go to that detail sheet and see what I'm looking for, more detail! Some of my drawings are hundreds of pages deep and plan grid handles them all. I also like the way plan grid allows me to go back to where I started from, or jump into a completely different group of drawings. Plan grid updates easily so I can always have current drawings at my fingertips.

Cons: Can't think of anything off hand. But this will not let me submit until I have at least 50 characters so obviously there is one thing I do not like.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you can't tap on a detail and go to that page, get plan grid, save the aggravation.

Pros: The ease of use from beginning to end. Anyone can utilize PlanGrid to assist them on a project some way. If a person typically has challenges with computers or iPad can use PlanGrid just to read drawings, to someone who is advanced can utilize the full power of the PlanGrid app.

Cons: Hoping in the future they add some bidding software options similar to On Screen Takeoff.

Recommendations to other buyers: Comparative to other similar products, the cost impact of PlanGrid is far more economical than some competitors, this product is perfect for team use and collaboration.

Pros: The ability to upload several sets of drawings, in a as needed basis at a very small fraction of the cost compared to printing hard copies and being able to view, make annotations and or share while on the field or the office.

Cons: I don't think I have anything to say on this subject. Nope, their product and service is great.

Recommendations to other buyers: This particular software not only improves your PDF files by making it easier to view and navigate but, but it builds these links that connect your call outs with the actual page. How great is that?

Pros: Punch list stamps make tracking items to completion so easy. In the event I have a question, the online chat feature is almost instant support.

Cons: Being able to view and update attachments. It would be better if i could update an existing attachment with an updated pdf just by clicking on it. instead of having to delete and upload and label a new one.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it for one project start to finish and you will never stop using it.

Comments: I am a special inspector for large scale commercial buildings in a large market. It seems every general contractor it starting to go paperless with plans and specifications and they all use different programs, so I have used a lot of them to say the least. I feel the PlanGrid is the most user friendly. I tend to take the plans and specifications from some of the other programs contractors are using for specific projects and put them into PlanGrid for my own use.

Pros: One of my biggest time sinks is formatting reports so once I found out that this app formats them for you I was immediately hooked. The default format is very logical and simple to read and for that I am eternally grateful. No more messing with strange Word formatting procedure for this guy.

The collection of photos and being able to mark them up instantly is wonderful. It is great for punch lists as well as cataloging existing conditions. Simply being able to note where the photo is taken is excellent.

The myriad of additional mark up tools is fairly standard but very necessary and also well done. Without them this tool would not feel complete or flexible.

Cons: Initially it was difficult for me to find out how to download the remainder of my photos. They are kept in a folder on your device that I haven't found a quick way to get out without another app like Astro File Manager (another great app for those of you looking for better folder access).

If there was an option to include a list of photos and there locations on the reports that would be very helpful for existing conditions. It's just slightly quicker that making punch list items for each photo taken. I haven't used the app for a few months since I've been on other projects so I apologize if this has been added.

Overall: For those familiar with standard user interfaces PlanGrid is very easy to pick up. It was recommended to me by the lead architect on our project and I'm very happy she did so. It was made immediately useful by allowing me to quickly upload my drawing set and begin making punch lists for the construction project I was overseeing.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do a quick "example" project for yourself before trying this with anything associated with your work. The company preloads a few example plans to work with so you can try out all of the features before using. Every program has a certain flow to it so make sure you take the time to give yourself some free play with PlanGrid before venturing out on your own with your projects.

Comments: As a site manager, this software has saved me countless hours of highlighting PDF's and going back through picture files to link them up with manually written field issue reports. This is also an extremely useful tool for punch lists.

Pros: -Ability to link photos to an area on the sheet -Ability to share reports and pages via email to people who do not have the software -Do not have to carry around hundreds of physical drawings

Cons: -Needs a way to filter and create a report for just one specific type of issue. -Functionality for tablet devices dependent upon provider data service -Web based interface can be a bit laggy

Comments: We were initially introduced to PlanGrid by a General Contractor on a massive project that required the use of a flexible plan-sharing platform. The were using PlanGrid and we immediately saw the use of it. What we didn't realize at the time was that the program is as useful for a million dollar project as it is for a thousand dollar project. All the way around, if you're in construction, this is by far the best program to utilize. However, to top it all off they add the best Customer Service I have had the joy of experiencing.

Pros: Field Use, Pictures, As-Builts on the fly...

Cons: Antique Co-workers afraid of technology.

Pros: Very easy to use and learn - They also have live video tutorials weekly! Stores all construction information and files into a seamless interface Constantly updating the app/software to meet clients needs and keep up with the construction industry.

Cons: Missing a few helpful modules - Submittals, Change Orders, Schedules, etc. but an easy work around is to upload them as PDFs into a unique attachment folder and view them that way. Would be better though if they had a module similar to the RFI's.

Pros: PlanGrid is simple to use, and makes drawing management a breeze. Subcontractors can no longer complain they don't have the most up to date drawings - they're in their pocket at all times.

Cons: PlanGrid's simplicity is both its greatest strength, and its greatest weakness. The ubiquity of "There's an app for that" has turned into many tight and incredibly useful apps that (only) do one thing or another really well. PlanGrid is one of these - the drawing management capabilities are fantastic, but the RFIs tool is not. It is also somewhat a barrier to entry that there is an ever-growing cost associated with PlanGrid. Many subcontractors struggle to justify the cost month to month, especially if they have a small scope on a large project with many sheets. It would make more sense for the cost of PlanGrid on each project to be borne by the GC, and Subs to gain access via invitation, without incurring exponential costs in the process.

Recommendations to other buyers: As a drawings management tool, PlanGrid is wonderful. It is, however, being copied by other companies who provide products with much more utility by having a wider range of nimble tools for a complete Project Management system. Make certain that a solid drawings management tool is all you require when looking into PlanGrid. If you need something more varied, with wider capabilities, look further.

Pros: - Fastest plan viewer on the market - Easy to learn - Automatic hyperlinks on drawing sets

Cons: - No integration with database software (timberline, prolog, etc.) - No way to control view permissions of users/collaborators

Recommendations to other buyers: Over the past year, my company integrated PlanGrid into our construction process, and used it to build several ground-up and renovation projects. I can safely say that PlanGrid has streamlined the construction process. It has greatly increased the collaboration of our field and office staff. We have also been able to reduce our paper use by utilization of the attachments features. We have found a variety of uses for the issues reporting module, which have enabled us to communicate more effectively with owners, architects, and subcontractors. How we used it: - Maintained constantly up-to-date set of drawings, linked to all RFI responses, approved submittals, and other important documentation - Utilized the issues feature to generate work-to-complete lists to better steer subcontractors - Easily documented construction progress If you want to become more organized and focused in your project delivery, then you should use PlanGrid.

Cons: This would be the case with any product, but there's a ton of feature I would like added after using the app. Can't really knock them for this because it's a lot easier to think of great ideas as opposed to implementing them.

Comments: PlanGrid is an easy to use tool for keeping teams up to date with the latest drawings. Where it suffers is lacking from an ability to integrate with other software like Bluebeam, where existing markups can be manipulated. In PlanGrid, anything imported becomes a static page. Also, the never ending cost of PlanGrid is a barrier to entry for some of our subs. It would make more sense to charge the GC to buy it per project, and not charge the subs.

Comments: Leading up to the start of my projects I have been able to review and mark up plans much faster and easier than in the past. By pushing my notes to the master I am able to ensure all the members of my team are catching critical details.
I have close interaction with many GCs, Engineers and Architects and several have seen the ease of which I am able to move from sheet to sheet and between disciplines. BEI Structural Engineers are the EOR for my Gaithersburg, MD project and were very interested in the way I documented their inspections, easily attaching pictures of the issues and instantly passing them on to my field staff. Last I heard they were looking into Plan Grid.
I am now on a project in Reston, VA 350,000 sqft of wood framing. the GC is currently using Procore which is much slower to navigate and pass information. There is not much chance of the GC to change from Procore, there are using on all projects more to pass documents to subs than for the plans but those who have seen us use Plan Grid know it is better for access of plans.
At the end of 2015 we had a meeting in preparation of our company summit after showing the benefits of Plan Grid to the upper management of Colt they have purchased IPads and added many members of our field staff to Plan Grid.
You want to get better??

I need info on adding hyper links to rfis, ssks and asks.

I need to save on the number of sheets I push to my field personel, is there a way to add multiple 8x11 pages to one sheet, ie all related 8x11s for one rfi. some of our floor truss layouts will have 100 to 150 related 8x11truss profiles but it is not cost effective to push these to my men with the current setup.

My company is talking about going to procore for things like QC, safety issues, floor/roof truss layouts and profiles, RFIs, ASKs and SSKs. are you making any changes in this direction?

Comments: M y company made the decision to go with Plangrid about 6 months ago, and I have been happy with the results. We figured if we were going to make the investment for the hardware (iPads) and subscription, we might as well do it right.

We opted for the training at our office for a day and that was the best decision we made. Having the on-site training was very helpful to get us all going.

So after 6 months in, all the PM's have really gotten behind the program and app. It was a little different with the guys in the field. They had to get used to carry iPads and not have everything on paper. That probably has been the hardest thing to get used to.

My only complaint about the service is that service is done via chat and email. The few times I had needed support, I couldn't call a number and no one was on the chat during normal business hours. I would like to see that get a little better.

Comments: PROS
Plangrid's user interface is really simple and intuitive. You can start a project, populate it and start annotating without having to take a class or even go through a tutorial. Also, navigating sheets is fast. I believe these are only some of the reasons why adoption rate is high.

It's is always great to get notifications of new features on a regular basis and the response from customer service is excellent.

CONS
Although it's nice to have all your annotations and attachments during the life of the project, the final export does not include details of an attachment. It would be nice to have a final version with pop up links of file names attached. I'm sure the Plangrid will figure out in the near future.

Comments: This is an oversimplified product that is allowed to proliferate because nothing better has come along. The RFI section is weak when it comes to usability. On a mobile device, you can view the attachments just by clicking on them. However, you need to download the file if you want to view it on your desktop. There is very little in terms of organizing and search features.

Customer service is present, but not often helpful. With all of the issues I have encountered, I have been told that "no one has complained about that" and that they would "put it in as a feature request". To this day, no changes have been made.

The links between sheets are nice, but there is no way to go back to the sheet you linked from. I would rather not ever have to use this, but bosses want it.

Comments: Pros: This app is a one stop shop for project management. Besides being able to pull up the plans very quickly and clearly, you can make notes, put together RFIs, look up submittal docs, add photos of what is seen in the field and pin it to where it is shown on the plans. It makes it very easy for my team in the field to communicate to me the work that is done, issues they are seeing or mark areas that are questionable. PlanGrid continues to come up with updates as well that improve the software and they have free product demonstrations online to help you learn to use features on the tool.

Cons: Cost. If you have anything over 50 sheets, you have to pay for a subscription which I have no problem with. My problem is that there was a significant jump in the price of the subscription for new members. It jumped up 20 dollars a month, or 30 if you paid monthly.

It's easy to get a project off the ground and the contractors we work with love it. Bulletins/Addendums/RFIs/Punch Lists have never been easier to document/manage and everything is handled through the cloud. The mobile apps work great and the UI is clean and friendly. Easy to attach pictures to the area of the project including full page PDF's so they understand the issue immediately. Quicker response to issues less time reviewing RFI's more production. You can over lay sheets to avoid conflicts. Good investment and big time saver.

Pros: All of the above. I can solve a lot of problems and shorten the process. I see more and more GC's using it as a way to exchange info with subs. If I have a particular problem with something Plan Grid support will get right back to me with help. If they hear from you about something you would like to see on plan grid they they send it to their design team to see if can be added.

Cons: RFI's have to be sent through Plan Grid so some GC's won't open them. If they saw that it came from me they wouldn't hesitate. Maybe maybe it could say (my company) / plan grid RFI.

Comments: This app is a must have for organizing drawings, posting updates, attaching revisions and sketches and tracking RFIs. It's hard to imagine a project without PlanGrid after having it on the project. It also helps with tracking punch list items and issues. I strongly suggest any GC's out there not using PlanGrid to apply for a free trial account and check this software out.

Pros: Ease of use. Easy to learn. Great user interface.

Cons: Drawing overlay function needs improvement to allow for different scales across different sheets.

Comments: PlanGrid has been around for 3 years, and I have to say it's truly the best! Designed for iOS and Android, reverse engineered to other software makes this a killer application.

Pros: It works seamlessly with my day-to-day workflow on the iPad

Cons: I cannot wait until the full blown Windows app is out.

PlanGrid is the best field tool any project manager or field superintendent since AutoCAD.

Comments: PlanGrid is great in the office for me to track the work occuring in the field. it is also very helpful to the superintendents in the field. They are able to track and verify all work as it is being installed. They are able to communicate with the PM and architect through clear and concise RFI's with associated photos to compliment the review. PlanGrid is a time saver and in our business where we always have too much work, saving time is priceless.
Thanks

Comments: PlanGrid is by far one of the most influential software to come along in decades. It keeps our staff in the field much better up to date than previously, with paper. Its speed is also unlike other solutions. Our guys in the field love it.

Pros: Speed of moving within a drawing is very fast as well as moving between drawings. The ease of use or ease at which our guys learn to use it is also very fast.

Cons: It is a bit pricey. There is a recent entry into this market that gives a lot more for the free account than PlanGrid does. But who knows how long that will last.

Comments: This is a great app and is revolutioning construction. I use it everyday on relatively small scale residential projects and see tremendous value and potential in it. I could only imagine the levels of efficiency that can be had with this app on a project with thousands of drawings.

Pros: Full-time access to all necessary project documents. Allows for truely mobile workflow.

Cons: Android app needs to catch up with the iOS app.

Comments: Fantastic for managing multiple facets of construction projects related to the documents. Fantastic punchlist tool. The rendering of the drawings is amazing.

Pros: Identifying punchlist items on the drawings including images of the issues. Communicating issues with subs, etc. Rendering drawings on mobile devices in the field. The list goes on...

Cons: I can't filter it the way I want for the niche services that our firm provides, but this will be more than adequate for 95% of firms out there.

Comments: I love this app, it has all of the tools I need to easily pull up the plans on a job site. Very simple to make notes, send out RFIs, take pictures and use them as reference and share items with other users. I like that you can download the plans to your device so that you do not always have to depend on a good internet connection.

Pros: As long as you have downloaded plans to your device, they can be accessible at any time. The tool is very user friendly, if you can use a smart phone, you can use this app. Makes project management a lot easier, users in the field can communicate issues to the office very easily.

Cons: My only issue with this is the recently updated price point. I feel like where they were at before was fair, but now the pricing is high, especially if you are paying for several users.

Comments: Plan Grid definitely helps bring construction sites into the 21st century. The hassle of updated prints being delivered to the jobsite is mitigated by instant updates online.

Pros: - All plans and revisions in one easy to navigate app - Punchlists - Easy to follow and keeps me from having to do a walk-through with every trade.

Cons: - Getting all your subs on board can be challenging. You have to show them the benefits for them to buy into it.

Comments: I started using this app as an admin helping architects for a medium size firm populating and maintaining multiple projects. The iPad app and web app are really intuitive and easy to navigate. I believe this is one of Plangrid's best features. Anyone can pick up and run with it within minutes.

Pros: Easy to use Intuitive layout Fast navigation Graeat note-taking and commenting tools

Cons: Final export does not include photo references and links to notes, but do retain labels of where these happened.

Comments: It's designed as a supplement to job site plans, in some cases, it could be replacement for paper, but that takes getting used to. It's version control!! It's easy to use, intuitive, portable. It can hold multiple projects, be your primary format for RFIs, and punch list items, and notate field conditions. Even OGs (old guys - my husband's term) adapt pretty easily.

Pros: Yay- version control! Newest always on top. Quick to disseminate information and new drawings to the field. Really easy to learn.Portable to carry around to different floors and rooms. Everything is easy.

Cons: I wish the desktop version worked as well as the iPad. It almost does, but it's designed for administration - uploading and naming - rather than the same kind of field use. If I'm spending hours administering a large job at my desk, I want to use PlanGrid just as much as my superintendent does, and in most of the same ways, but on a large screen with a mouse.

Comments: PlanGrid is an excellent tool that greatly enhances communication within project teams and other trades. The ability to use the same documents and maintain a change log is a great benefit that keeps all collaborators in sync.

Pros: PlanGrid affords you the ability to document and report from a single platform, available through the cloud anywhere and in the various devices we use; tablet, laptop, desktop, phone. Being able to access from multiple OSs enables our users to use their device of preference - Android, IOs, Mac, Windows, etc.

Cons: It presently seems to lack direct interaction or integration with other products it teams well with. Not an issue by any means, but a bit of additional integration can result in increased time savings, particularly in the production stage. Slow speed when syncing between devices can be an issue if a project has a large volume of sheets, particularly with slow data connections on a jobsite.

Comments: PlanGrid is a great tool. The free to 50 sheets is a benifit as well as the pricing structure. I am impressed with the ease of use for drawings and punch list management. I have not used the RFI feature so I cannot comment on that.

One suggestion would be to add a batch edit feature where you could tag a selection of drawings all at once instead of going into each one. Maybe that exists but I have not seen it yet.

I also like how easy it is to add sketches, RFI documents, submittals, to be truly mobile with the info I need at my fingertips.

The drawing log feature is great as well in order to produce a document to use in contracts and to send to subcontractors.

One of the best products we have used.

Comments: This is a great tool for making sure that the entire team has the most current set of drawings.

I do wish there was a better sharing tool. I frequently want to send a team member just the landscape plans, etc. and that is hard to do on the current software. I work on large projects with 10K documents. It would be nice to not have to download all project documents to my ipad to save space. I use the desktop portal more than the ipad for this reason. I keep running out of space on ipads. The desktop access does not have the same ease of use as the ipad app. All in all though, i love the ability to look at the most current plan and all previous versions of those sheets. To take the plans into the field and look closely at the details on the jobsite. The ease of marking up the drawings, etc. This program does a lot of things right and is clearly moving in the right direction. Thanks!

Comments: Of the different apps I've tried for completing construction project punch lists, PlanGrid has been the easiest and most efficient app. Being able to clearly and easily identify issues in the field and then snap a photo of that issue is wonderful. Plus, the ability to generate and issue the punch list to the project team is great.

Comments: As an inspector in the field it was very convenient using PlanGRid. Navigating through structural , architectural sheets can be a pain. Being able to Bookmark pages and open specific disciplines was phenomenal. If you can only download specific disciplines that would be nice. The hyperlinks to RFI's were awesome.

Comments: Pros:
PlanGrid is consistently updated, and easy to use. We use PlanGrid on all of our construction projects. Primary use:
1.)Construction Coordination - If the project team is linked to the project properly and project site has tablets/laptops, this is a powerful tool for keeping an electronic construction set posted and updated real time. Subcontractors and Design Team can share information and coordinate field changes quickly and easily.
2.) Punchlist - I push for all Architects and Engineers to use PlanGrid on jobs. It expedites and helps get punch lists signed off. I had an Architect from Chicago who did not need to fly back out to Denver for punch list sign off because of PlanGrid.

Cons
1.) Hyperlinks break when creating a final as-built copy, so there is still some work required in Blubeam or Adobe to finalize as-builts.
2.) Requires that all users have accounts. Most projects I work on are more than 50 sheets, so the free account isn't an option for subcontractors, architects, and owners to sign up and get proper use. A paid account is almost a must.

Great platform for plan viewing, editing and sharing.

Comments: Pros: Improves PDF files, among other ways by automatically building links into all of the call outs throughout the plans that make up a more efficient and speedy access of the relevant information at task. Other features as layers, tags, issues log, pictures, history and attachments allow for a great intuitive compartmentalized collaboration process with team members at Trade Level and/or Project Level in a as needed basis. It saves money in the long run by virtually eliminating the need for costly hard copies or other means of printed records.
Cons: There is a small learning curb and requires some degree of time investment, as with everything else in life. Results will vary from person to person and will be directly tied to the individual's own abilities.
