Really happy with the responsiveness of tech support, and their willingness to go above and beyond to solve problems. Also, the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] is very responsive on the Facebook group, and it is obvious that he wants to continually improve the platform. Phone support and the ability to share a screen while setting up a website would be amazing!

Pros

Excellent customer support, adding products and photos is pretty easy to understand.

Cons

We have been mostly focused on setting up our one time products. We are still trying to learn the website builder. There are lots of great features, and we are still trying to figure out what works best, so we can't comment on this. We are moving from a different platform, and there are some features that are available to us on the other platform that we would love to see on Subbly as far as setting up a shop. 1) It would be great if we could create pages with categories of products. Tech support is helping us to set this up using our tags, but would be great if it was easier to do without tech support. If a list of categories to match the tags was added to the top of the shop, that would be supper helpful. 2) The ability to drag and drop to rearrange one time shop products would be great - we have had our sub box on another platform since Oct 2019. We had a number of Christmas one time products - stickers and shirts, that we wanted to offer as add-ons to the 2nd year's Christmas box. We were able to drag all the Christmas related products to the top of the shop so they would be seen first without having to search. We did the same thing with our previous valentines and summer products. 3) It would also be really helpful if we could duplicate one time products. All of our shirts have the same variables and pricing, but we need to enter the variables for each product. If we could just copy it, change the name and photo and have a different SKU, that would be amazing.

1) There are some limitations to their website design templates. Although they are always working on improving the Marketplace, there does not appear to be a lot of attention to making improvements on the website side. 2) Customer support is lacking, especially since COVID. When you do chat or email someone, they are all very nice, but the chat hours are very limited, and often issues need to be escalated, and then it ends up in email instead of chat which can stretch out up to a week without an answer. 3) Custoners can subscribe for 3 or 6 months to get a discount, but they must prepay the full amount.

Pros

If you are looking to get started with your subscription based business or even if you have been doing your business for years already, I 100% recommend Subbly. It is EXTREMELY USER FRIENDLY and there are so much options and customizable features for every niche. You dont have to code a single thing if you do not want to and you still have just as much customizable features as a pro web designer.

Cons

Subbly does offer basic email marketing, and it is editable. However, I think it needs more flexibility. Unlike Klaviyo or Mailchimp which are specifically designed for email marketing, Subbly is limited in its capabilites. Although Subbly does offer a multitude of 3rd party integrations, such as Klaviyo, it is still extremely limited. For example, I use Klaviyo, however, Subbly does not have all metrics on Klaviyo for it to even work to its full potential. If you were moving from WooCommerce and had Klaviyo integrated, and then you moved to Subbly, you will quickly learn of the "cuts" you no longer have in your email marketing simply because Subbly does not, and has not, offered a "true" or "full" integration. Personally, I feel like it's a, lack of a better term "half assed" integration. I fully believe that if Subbly wants to offer certain 3rd party integrations, like Klaviyo, it needs to be working at 100% capacity, not 75%. I beleive "little" things like this actually become a big problem when it comes to growth and eventually just becomes a burning whole in your wallet. I have brought this issue up to Subbly and they recommended getting Zapier as a solution. So now, I am paying for Subbly system, but also Klaviyo (because Subbly does not offer a flexible email marketing), but now I have to pay for Zapier as well. Then you may have to pay someone to set up your Zapier because Zapier isnt the most user friendly application. It just adds up and can be mentally exhausting.

I was on WooCommerce and I was not using WooCommerce Subscription. I was using some other 3rd party plug in for my subscriptions. One day I woke up and noticed my subscriptions/customers were gone. The plugin I was running cancelled all of my customers. I had left Subbly to go to WooCommerce because I THOUGHT I wanted something different. I reached out to Subbly, told them what happened, and asked if they could salvage my customers. Luckily, Subbly was able to migrate ALL OF MY CUSTOMERS back to Subbly. If it wasnt for this I would have just given up my business. You really dont know what you have until its gone. Even without this dramatic tragic event, there were SO MANY FEATURES I did not have on WooCommerce that I really wish I did. Now im back on Subbly running strong. I doubt ill ever leave. I learned my lesson.

When we set up our subscription business, we looked at Subbly and Cratejoy. We ultimately went with Subbly to set up our website because it was cheaper to set and the fees per transaction were significantly less than Cratejoy. But also we liked the look of the Subbly backend and the helpdesk and support is outstanding. We do sell on Cratejoy marketplace but I don't like it - they fleece both the customer and the supplier with their charges and the support is poor. And don't get me started on their financial side.We made a great choice choosing Subbly. It has eased our transition into the subscription market and has allowed is to easily control our business. I am very happy and would recommend to all subscription box provoders.

Pros

Whenever I have encountered an issue with Subbly - usually of my own making - the support team at Subbly has always helped me out, usually straightaway. They have talked me through changes, done some for me and made me videos to follow. They are always here for me and always check back to make sure i'm happy.I like the ease with which I was able to set up the website without needing any computer training and the ability to have both subscription products and one-off products. There is a lot more functionality with Subbly that I have not delved into yet but so far I am very pleased and my business is ticking along nicely.

Cons

Overall, I am very impressed with the software. I would like to see more options for financial reports. Right now for sales tax there is a CSV file to download but it could be more robust. There are some issues with downloading to pirate ship items that aren't due to go out in that period which can be frustrating if i forget to "ignore" them.I would like to understand the "media" section better to be able to render photos that load quickly but that is probably more to do with me than the software.

### "The best way to start a subscription business."

The best customer service you will ever find. They go above and beyond. Seriously, I have been putting them to work (unintentionally but I needed a lot of help/had a lot of questions) and they have graciously completed every task and answered every question.

Pros

It really is built subscription first. Where you would need a lot of plug ins and connecters to get started on other platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce, it's all built right in. So it really ends up saving you money because you don't have to pay for a lot of apps.

Cons

\>The emails that are triggered need to be able to come from a white labeled domain. >There is no direct integration with ANY CRM software. You would think at least salesforce or HubSpot, but nope. This isn't as big of a deal while I am still in beta but this is very important to me for scaling purposes. >There is currently no public API so I can't even get a developer to program an integration for me. But I have been informed a public one will be coming Fall-ish 2021.

Where to begin...? I was struggling before I found them. I was struggling to get my subscription up and running, dropping money into another site that wasn't as attentitve to it's customer's/subscriber's needs even though they offered a marketplace. But then a sale through the marketplace would've taken what little 'profit' I'd have made off of the sale... and then came Subbly. The resources on their site are up to date. I've gotten multiple video explanations, on the backend of MY subscription store, showing me exactly where to go and what to do pertaining to whatever questions I may have asked. They give you the tools and resources you need for success and if you need that little bit of help along the way to figure things out because you got stuck? The staff are there to help you 100%. Seriously, I can't say enough good stuff about the staff. And the fact that Subbly makes a live chat a priority for their subscribers to reach out as issues arise? I don't have to wait a week or more for help with something that could literally take 2 minutes to answer. Remember in Pretty in Pink when Ducky takes Andie to Prom and then she ends up leaving with Blane? But just as you're feeling sorry for Ducky there is that girl who waves him over and you know he's going to be okay? Well I was Ducky and Subbly was that girl waving me over. Weird analogy I know. But I feel like I'm going to be okay with Subbly.

Pros

It's not wordy in the instructions. It's clean. It's concise. It's easy to manage on my own('cause let's face it starting out, we're doing it all ourselves)! It's easy on the eyes on the screen even if sitting and working at the computer for a long time (as we do).

Cons

In the website builder I get "Product" and "Products" mixed up... but that's more of a user error than anything else!

Reason for choosing Subbly

The price is good for the services offered, and they deal exclusvely with Subscriptions, and seriously having that customer service assist you when you run into a new situation or a hiccup in your website or an issue with the backend of your account. It's priceless. I can say with confidence I can type them a problem I've encountered and I KNOW someone will get back to me shortly so I can still be working at my computer on other stuff while I wait and I don't have to worry if I will hear from them a week later. I can live without a marketplace (although i wouldn't necessarily object to one happening, but then perhaps it would take away from the amazing subscription business customer service they provide if they tried to do too much). Besides they provide insight into how to market your business. So take the time and check out their resources they provide; they have great visuals and are concise insights to market your business. A lot of the time if I don't want to surf around on the Subbly resources I just google whatever help I need and add the word subbly and it brings me to the Subbly resource I need on their site!

### "Best Subscription Platform I've found!"

I thought the platform was awesome, the live chat/assistance was stellar, and the customer experience was excellent. I think you all are doing a fantastic job! I could tell that this platform was made for subscription boxes - whereas most sites are websites that are adding a part for sub-boxes, and it made a huge difference! Set up was easy for my pages, my products, my pricing options, and the customer journey. Everyone commented on how beautiful and easy to use my Subbly site was! I'm going to be telling all my colleagues and business-buddies about Subbly.

Pros

Subbly is very easy to use, and the help sections and chat are great! I like most that the software is built to be for sub-boxes specifically, it's not a platform that is just adding a part for subscriptions. Big difference!

Cons

I didn't like how I had to make a different product listing for each size t-shirt. It would be optimal if there was a drop down on the product page to allow for that selection. I think it was a bit confusing to people, seeing the same photo 5 times, only difference being the size. It was hard to indicate that the size was the part that was different in the titles.

Price competitiveness, and how quickly I was responded to in the chat, as a possible customer! Other companies had an 'email us your question' format, but I was able to just chat in to Subbly and get my questions answered even before I signed up. That made the decision 100x easier. I also like how i could make the charges be on the same day to my subscribers, and I didn't have to use an additional app to get that done as with other sites. I watched a bunch of YouTube comparison videos, and decided that the back end of Subbly was easier to use, and the analytics easier to interpret and use than other platforms.

It's a great but still growing platform for subscription businesses. I think it's the best option at a reasonable price range for a subscription business all-in-one platform and website builder, and they are building out some of what I would consider are the missing features so it's only going to get better. Plus, their customer support is worth a special mention - they go above and beyond with personalised support whenever anything is amiss. I recommend Subbly for subscription business startups.

Pros

I reviewed a few platforms via free trials before deciding on Subbly for my e-commerce subscription store. It was the clear winner for versatility and support for variable subscription options. Other platforms can be twisted to work, with plugins and addons (at additional cost) but if a line of subscription products is your core, then Subbly's your best bet. This is what it's designed for out of the box, and it handles it well.

Cons

Because Subbly is still (as at Sep 2020) a relatively niche platform, if you want to integrate with other services you have limited choices. They are building out their app integrations, but the library of services that work with Subbly is still small. However, some custom coding and some automation intermediaries like Zapier can bridge a lot of these gaps. The website builder is comprehensive and easy to use. There are a few features missing, but that's true of Wix, Squarespace and others I've used. Subbly's builder is actually easier to use than some of these others, and allows custom code to fill the gap where there's no built in feature. However, as flexible and great as this part is, the rigidity of the checkout is a drawback - I believe it's on the roadmap to open up more options and customisations with checkout and I think that will make Subbly an end-to-end unbeatable option for subscription commerce businesses.

Unfortunately, our interaction with the company has been far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to detail our concerns for the benefit of other potential users. Firstly, Subbly has consistently refused to provide comprehensive company information, a practice that appears to violate UK laws. Secondly, while their response time is commendable, our communication with Subbly has been consistently unproductive. Our requests were met with rejection, demonstrating a lack of client-centricity on their part. Thirdly, the payment policy of Subbly does not include provisions for refunds. Consequently, we refrained from utilizing their services throughout the entire month, investing valuable time in correspondence with no positive outcome. Upon realizing Subbly's refusal to comply with legal obligations and accommodate our concerns, we made the decision to terminate our association with their services. Despite our unused subscription, Subbly declined our request for a refund. In conclusion, our experience with Subbly has been marred by unresponsiveness, and an inflexible payment policy. We advise potential users to carefully consider these aspects before engaging with Subbly, as our encounter has been both frustrating and disappointing.

The one really cool thibg about subbly is that they do not hold your data hostage allowing you to switch platforms at any given time,unlike all of the other major platforms out there. This is crucial for a small business owner. The website is full of information and shows you everything you need to know. Easy to read and follow.

Pros

Subbly is a popular subscription box platform that offers a comprehensive solution for businesses looking to start or manage subscription services. Its super easy to use, you dont have to be a computer genius to use this. The subscription plans can be customized, theres good customer service, but most importantly it is a platform that alliws you to build your website (or transfer your old one) manage your subscriptions, and provides e-commerce. Thats everything you neec for managing a subscription business.

Cons

This platform can be kind of pricey , especially for small business owners. It also has fewer third party integrations which does not give you flexibility.

Overall this has been wonderful! I am alone in building this business, except when working with subbly. Its everything I didnt know I needed for my business, walks through a clear setup list, and has features waiting for me as I build up to needing more automations. The support team has been like a partmer to me, making sure I understand how things work in the tool and what option I have if an option isnt available (for example, giving customers account credit could be easier, but support gave me two clear alternatives to use with their system to pull off something similar).

Pros

I can't believe how many features this one system has. I've had to rewrite the business plan a couple times and each and every way I try to do it I have an option here with this website because of the many features they offer. As I've come up with ideas from my customers as well, subbly seems to always have an option for doing what I want or working to accomplish it in some way. The support is also top tier, always there to help and always willing to fully understand my problem and authentically brainstorm with me as an owner working with their system. Its been a great partnership.

Cons

So far, because there are so many features the learning curve is pretty steep. (But for being what it is, I also find it very user friendly to navigate around and the articles talk to me like I'm a real person so it makes it easy to read through those to find my answer.)

The ability to get the job done by way of setting up and maintaining/managing new subscriptions. Easy to use, reasonably priced. Love the MMR feature.

Cons

It's a bit complicated for customers to use, and we often get people wanting more info, or struggling to amend their monthly subscription, so it requires us being a lot more involved in the admin side of things than we would like. That said, we are aware we could do a few things better, and the bubbly team are always at hand to help. We have a very small team so this is something we need to mail in the not too distant future.

I manage all my subscription box operations from Subbly super easily every day. And their team is fantastic, they're brilliant in helping you solve your issue ASAP!

Pros

No need to play around with your store for ages, you have everything inside Subbly! Plus the support team is super fast in answering and they're always releasing new features to help manage your subscription business. Finding Subbly literally saved me when I started off my subscription box. Really intuitive and easy to use, would recommend 1000% to anyone in need of a reliable platform to manage a subscription-based business!

Cons

There are few features they're still working on (like coupons), I'd love to be able to add a product to an order based on a coupon clients use!

We're happy with Subbly. We don't plan on going anywhere. Good integrations, good features and new ones all the time, great customer service.

Pros

The fact that it's built specifically for sub boxes sealed the deal. Amazing customer service keeps us with this platform It was important to us, when starting out, that they don't hold your box and followers/subscribers hostage if you choose to leave.

Cons

New features can be very glitchy. I wasn't able to use the gift certificate feature during the holidays, because it was buggy. Those sorts of things need to be rolled out during the lulls in the year. Might also be useful to beta new features with existing users at various levels of tech literacy. The website builder could be more straightforward. I'm fairly tech savvy and I had to bring in a designer to set things up. I've had to pull him back in here and there. I want to be able to do it all myself. It would be helpful to have videos for the most common issues. The few videos I watched were not particularly helpful for the initial build out. They need to be made for the person who knows almost nothing. Step by step. Assume nothing.

It has been great, they know what they are doing. If you have a subscription box use Subbly, they know all about them...this is a massive help. My website provider did have a subscription payment option but not for quarterly, whereas Subbly knows it's as popular and as key as monthly.

Pros

I love how easily the checkout option was to set up with Wix...I think together with the step by step instructions I only had to add support a couple of things...which they came straight back to me...really helpful. I probably would have done everything on Subbly if I hadn't already spent ages setting up wix and I had committed to a large annual cost with a couple of upgrades.

Cons

I don't think there are any negative things to say about the software. I would have liked an option of my customer selecting one of 6 free greeting cards (these are also for sale individually) if they spent over a certain amount or buying a one-off box for as a gift, it's not an issue I just have an excuse to contact the customer and ask them. The Subbly team is constantly adding, improving, and updating the software.

Pros

I think that this platform has exceeded my expectations. I am super impressed with how truly and continually supportive the gang at Subbly have been, right from the time that they were working with me to understand my requirements, throughout onboarding and set up, and now for ongoing customer support as Subbly and I ‘get acquainted’. They have been able to answer all the questions I have had and provide solutions to any challenges I have come across. I appreciate that they don’t just “drop ya as soon as they got ya” 😊

Cons

As I said, I am very happy with Subbly, I think it would be great to see some sort of live collaboration tools, where support techs and customers can share screens to resolve troubles. This said, when necessary, they do send recorded screen share videos where techs explain and demonstrate, which has been very helpful for me.

HEAVEN! Especially for the price :)

Pros

I have been SOOOOOO impressed with Subbly for its major role in my business! I recently rolled out product-based subscription boxes and I COULD NOT do this without the gorgeous and intuitive Subbly software! In the world of SAAS-Y products, they bring all the value for my money! Subbly was the ONLY provider that helped me achieve my goal of having a recurring subscription box where people pick their products. I LOVE that my customers have a simple and useful dashboard and sophisticated features that other services either don't have or don't provide at an affordable rate for a growing entreprise. Customer service is always 100% knowledgeable and friendly! Can't wait to see what new functionality you come up with to make my business flow great and look even greater!

Cons

There are three things I need to be happier: 1) Single item coupons WITH unique codes and expiration dates (useful in both single and subscription products) 2) I need a way to provide affiliate links to my ambassadors for referring my single products and/or a specific subscription in my store. These also need to have an expiration date option.. 3) I need to be able to provide additional options to subscribers such as buying the 'basic' box for a specific rate OR the 'luxury' box for a higher rate. All within the same subscription listing. It's too exhausting to do multiple listings and it makes for an unnecessarily clunky checkout where they can't weigh which one is better within checkout.

### "For subscription businesses, they are the best option"

Subbly is for me one of the best way to manage subscription businesses. Lot of things are missing but they are working really hard to improve their plateform and they are really aware of customer need. For me it's really a good solution.

Pros

The best things with subbly is the customer support. No matter which question you may have, they will always be available to answer. FOr some technical point they can even register a short video to show you how to fix your issue. Other point, the site is easy to understand. Lot of things has been simplified so that even a newer can set up his own website.

Cons

The more difficult point is the website builder. In comparaison with other website builder it's not the easiest. The drop and drag functions are not fully in place. So you have to be creative to do what you imagine. Other point : not that many application for now. They are adding new app on a regular basis, so it will be better soon

I feel like if I spend more time with Subbly University, I could use it better. I'm working towards it. But I seriously appreciate you guys. You've been incredibly patient and responsive.

Pros

Subby has made it so that I could easily get my subscription box business off the ground. Their customer service is KING. Seriously unparalleled. It feels like I have Subbly admin as my employees helping me every step of the way.

Cons

I do struggle with using software. The site isn't intuitive (to me) and that is why I have relied so heavily on customer service.

Subbly besides, all the improvements that it needs, is the best option for subscription business. Also the support team is really good and sometimes they work really fast in developing new features of many customers Vote for it

Pros

I used to have squarespace, but the platform was not build around a subscription. in contrary subbly is. It is easier to navigate data, process payments and modify subscriptions.

Cons

There are some functionalities not available like exporting some data from the users. You have to enter profile by profile to check what they did because you can not do a direct download. Also, you can’t duplicate products and edit them. You have to create the product again from 0. Preferences for One time purchase is not available

I have reached out multiple times via chat and their team is incredibly responsive and helpful - usually within the hour. Great customer service!

Pros

The website builder is very intuitive. Drag and drop mostly with no coding required at all (unless you want to ). They have a variety of templates that allow even the most tech-phobic entrepreneurs to simply drop in their unique text and photos. Very efficient. The subscription tool that incorporates the typeform survey is genius. It allows sellers to customize products in the subscription without having to go out of their site or follow up with an email. The tracking tools are very user-friendly as well. The ability for users to purchase one-time products and not just a subscription is a great feature.

Cons

The basics of the website builder and functionality are a great start but there are some customizations on the product side, like a survey integration on the one time product that I'd like to see.

I'm starting a new subscription box business and I needed a website. I found a company that specializes in this and very quickly became absolutely and completely frustrated. I was just wishing that I had a friend that would hold my hand while setting this up. I Googled who their competitors are, and came upon Subbly. What a completely different experience. Immediately I noticed that their website showed step-by-step how to set everything up-and they thought of absolutely everything. It couldn't have been more intuitive. But as easy as their software has made things, by far the most impressive thing is this company's customer service department. I then received an absolute onslaught of hand holding. This company's customer service is second to none. The customer service department is actually PROACTIVE. They don't wait for you to have a question-They anticipate what your questions are going to be, then they email you detailed explanations that you receive as your setting up your site. It's feels like you have a friend watching over your shoulder, and answering your questions as you build your new site. The chat box is just as awesome, as your questions are answered almost immediately, and they offer additional tips just to one-up their own customer service. The people could not be more pleasant or helpful. I never imagined that I could have a better customer service experience than Amazon. I was wrong. Subbly has best support, bar none.

Pros

Ease of use. It's truly a turn-key package, and so easy to use.

Cons

Nothing. It's awesome. The only thing better than the software is the excellent customer service.

### "A good starting place for your subscription business"

A great place to quickly and cheaply setup your Subscripton business. A bit glitchy and a bit simplistic but it works to get you off the ground without breaking the bank.

Pros

\*Most things you need to get going are in one place and that you don't need to bolt on and pay for apps (you do but less essential compared to Shopify) \* Quick responses from customer service \* The customer's account for managing their subscription is excellent, much clearer than Bold/Shopify. \* Quick and easy to build a site without any coding \* Much cheaper than what you'd end up paying for Shopify/Bold \* The ability to start subscriptions in the future and have the customer decide how many reoccurrences they want for their gift.

Cons

\* Lack of shipping options for customers - proves difficult to have a profitable one price fits all option \* Somewhat defensive customer service responses \* Glitchy - had to re-save sections 20+ times \* No show-cart step \* No stock control/variants for non-subscription items \* Limits to what you can do on the site, mobile and tablet aren't completely intuitive/customisable/responsive \* Customers can't have more than one subscription in their basket

While Subbly doesn't have as flashy of a marketing presence or site interface, it fulfills all of its brand's promises to customers. It allows businesses to grow and above all, it works!

Pros

Reliable. Very easy for customers. Very flexible for administrators to manage their customers' subscriptions. It is constantly working to improve all aspects of the experience for administrators and their customers alike.

Cons

Weird language for checkouts and other customer facing pages, would like to be more custom. A bit confusing to navigate management side of sight.
