"Keeps client document signing simple and organized"

**Overall:** Overall, Dropbox Sign feels like a tool that keeps document signing simple and manageable without adding unnecessary complexity. As a remote freelance bookkeeper working with multiple clients, having a consistent way to send, track, and store signed documents makes a noticeable difference. It also makes things easier for clients, since they can complete everything quickly without setup. Compared to how I handled documents before, things feel more organized and move a bit faster, especially when dealing with multiple clients at once. It's not a highly advanced solution, so there are some limits depending on how complex the workflow, but for day-to-day use, it works reliably. Overall, I would rate it around 4.0 to 4.3 out of 5.

**Pros:** Before using Dropbox Sign, I handled documents through email and PDFs, sometimes asking clients to sign and send them back. It worked at first, but as the number of clients grew, it became harder to keep everything organized. After I started using it, the process felt more contained in one flow. For example, when sending onboarding documents like engagement letters, service agreements, or simple confirmations, I can upload the file, place signature fields, and send it out without breaking the process into multiple steps. It noticeably reduced the time spent handling documents. One thing I didn’t expect was how much it reduced follow-ups. I can see whether a document has been opened or is still pending, so I don’t have to check in as often. During busy periods, this makes a real difference. From the client side, things have been smooth. They can open the link from email and sign right away without creating an account, so I rarely need to explain anything. This has been especially helpful when working with clients who are not very familiar with these tools. Since I already use Dropbox, document handling also feels more connected. I can take existing files, send them for signature, and keep everything organized in the same place afterward. Over time, it’s been easier to keep track of signed agreements and documents. It also made things move a bit faster overall. Without printing or scanning, documents are often completed much sooner.

**Cons:** There are still some limitations depending on the situation. For example, when a document needs to be reviewed and signed by multiple people in a specific order, or when the next step depends on a previous approval, the setup can feel a bit limited. In some cases, I’ve had to send documents in separate steps manually, which adds extra work. Managing repeated documents could also be smoother. When sending similar agreements to different clients, some parts of the setup still need to be checked or adjusted each time, which can add up over time. Cost was also something I had to consider, especially coming from a free workflow. If it’s only used occasionally, it may not feel necessary. But once I started using it more regularly, the time it saved made it feel worth it.

**Switched From:** [Adobe Acrobat](https://www.capterra.com/p/251329/Adobe-Acrobat-DC/)

**Reasons for Switching to Dropbox Sign:** I used Adobe Acrobat to send PDFs via email for client signatures, but as my client list grew, tracking and managing documents became difficult.

"Punished for working too quickly"

**Overall:** Not great. I had a deadline to get 94 contracts out. I would send 10-14 then I would get blocked. What could have taken 5 hours to complete took from 4:00 pm on a Thursday to 10:00 am on Saturday to almost complete--I have one more to complete and have to wait a few hours because I've been blocked again. I missed the deadline. Support is also slow and useless. I reached out Thursday. Received one email Friday where I was referred to another department and haven't heard of anything since.

**Pros:** It is incredibly easy to use. I can't say much more about the positives because the negatives were such an issue that I missed a deadline.

**Cons:** It's so easy that I was blocked of sending contracts out for being suspected of spamming--10-14 contracts at a time. Evidently, that number is too many in a short period of time.

**Alternatives Considered:** [SignRequest](https://www.capterra.com/p/147528/SignRequest/) and [PandaDoc](https://www.capterra.com/p/131735/PandaDoc/)

**Reasons for Choosing Dropbox Sign:** Google Drive and One Drive integration seemed like a great feature. I haven't seen the benefit. I wish that I hadn't chosen this product because of the issues I experienced with being blocked for sending too many contracts at once. I never would've thought to look for that issue.
