### "Keeps client document signing simple and organized"

April 6, 2026

4.0

Overall, Dropbox Sign feels like a tool that keeps document signing simple and manageable without adding unnecessary complexity. As a remote freelance bookkeeper working with multiple clients, having a consistent way to send, track, and store signed documents makes a noticeable difference. It also makes things easier for clients, since they can complete everything quickly without setup. Compared to how I handled documents before, things feel more organized and move a bit faster, especially when dealing with multiple clients at once. It's not a highly advanced solution, so there are some limits depending on how complex the workflow, but for day-to-day use, it works reliably. Overall, I would rate it around 4.0 to 4.3 out of 5.

Pros

Before using Dropbox Sign, I handled documents through email and PDFs, sometimes asking clients to sign and send them back. It worked at first, but as the number of clients grew, it became harder to keep everything organized. After I started using it, the process felt more contained in one flow. For example, when sending onboarding documents like engagement letters, service agreements, or simple confirmations, I can upload the file, place signature fields, and send it out without breaking the process into multiple steps. It noticeably reduced the time spent handling documents. One thing I didn’t expect was how much it reduced follow-ups. I can see whether a document has been opened or is still pending, so I don’t have to check in as often. During busy periods, this makes a real difference. From the client side, things have been smooth. They can open the link from email and sign right away without creating an account, so I rarely need to explain anything. This has been especially helpful when working with clients who are not very familiar with these tools. Since I already use Dropbox, document handling also feels more connected. I can take existing files, send them for signature, and keep everything organized in the same place afterward. Over time, it’s been easier to keep track of signed agreements and documents. It also made things move a bit faster overall. Without printing or scanning, documents are often completed much sooner.

Cons

There are still some limitations depending on the situation. For example, when a document needs to be reviewed and signed by multiple people in a specific order, or when the next step depends on a previous approval, the setup can feel a bit limited. In some cases, I’ve had to send documents in separate steps manually, which adds extra work. Managing repeated documents could also be smoother. When sending similar agreements to different clients, some parts of the setup still need to be checked or adjusted each time, which can add up over time. Cost was also something I had to consider, especially coming from a free workflow. If it’s only used occasionally, it may not feel necessary. But once I started using it more regularly, the time it saved made it feel worth it.

### "Bad Service"

July 1, 2025

2.0

I have been using this application for a few months under my own account. It was fine up until I built my new website. When the new site was built, I needed to integrate Dropbox Sign into the Pipedrive CRM. It was going to be too expensive to do it through Dropbox, so I switched to DocuSign which was also easier to integrate with the Pipedrive. I forgot to cancel the subscription, so I emailed asking for a partial refund, but they refused. They saw how little I used it but they didnt care they wouldn't assist. I'm very disappointed with their service and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'd go DocuSign instead

Pros

The application was easy to use and got the job done. It did let me send out the Privacy Consent to single and multiple directors

Cons

That it wasn't accepted by a lot of lenders, and the service was terrible. It was also too expensive

### "Punished for working too quickly"

December 20, 2025

2.0

Not great. I had a deadline to get 94 contracts out. I would send 10-14 then I would get blocked. What could have taken 5 hours to complete took from 4:00 pm on a Thursday to 10:00 am on Saturday to almost complete--I have one more to complete and have to wait a few hours because I've been blocked again. I missed the deadline. Support is also slow and useless. I reached out Thursday. Received one email Friday where I was referred to another department and haven't heard of anything since.

Pros

It is incredibly easy to use. I can't say much more about the positives because the negatives were such an issue that I missed a deadline.

Cons

It's so easy that I was blocked of sending contracts out for being suspected of spamming--10-14 contracts at a time. Evidently, that number is too many in a short period of time.

Reason for choosing Dropbox Sign

Google Drive and One Drive integration seemed like a great feature. I haven't seen the benefit. I wish that I hadn't chosen this product because of the issues I experienced with being blocked for sending too many contracts at once. I never would've thought to look for that issue.

### "digital signing tool with robust security"

October 4, 2025

Overall, robust security feature protecting privacy, user friendly interface, and it’s ability to integrate with a lot of other programs make it a worthy option to consider!

Pros

The robust security feature of the native Dropbox with encryption and two factor authentication is very reassuring, especially now with all the digital threats to privacy and security!

Cons

The least to like about Dropbox sign would be similar to what other softwares and apps entail, i.e. the cost - may not be a good value for high volume signing needs.

### "Completely changed our business"

June 9, 2022

5.0

HelloSign has completely changed the way we send documents for signature and has absolutely saved us time and resources getting documents to and from our clients.

Pros

Prior to HelloSign, we would have to email documents for client signature, print and mail them, or have the client stop by in-person. Many of our clients live out-of-town or out-of-state, and a good number of them do not have access to a computer or printer, so it was extremely difficult and took quite a bit of time trying to figure out who was able to sign how. Now, we just send the document using HelloSign, and they are able to sign from their phone or computer, and they do not need a printer.

Cons

I wish there was a way to insert custom, fillable fields, i.e. date of birth or SSN - there may be/probably is a way to do this, I just haven't had time to sit down and look through/learn it, and couldn't think of anything else to put here.

### "Excellent Value when compared to their biggest competitor"

June 10, 2022

5.0

Excellent Value for Entrepreneurs and Start-Ups. ULIMITED actually means UNLIMITED, unlike their more expensive competitor who offer unlimited until you get to 8 sends per month, then their 'fair-use' policy kicks in to charge extra fees or attempts to coerce you into 'upgrading'. Thus far I have sent 27 documents out for e-Signature. ZERO ISSUE. Smooth. I get an email verifying the Send, the Read and the instant the doc has been Signed by each party, and then a Completion Notice. Overall I wanted value for my $$$... I found that with HelloSign. Very happy!!

Pros

ULIMITED Document Send4Signature(s) actually translates into UNLIMITED without ANY 'fine print' surprise limitations under some 'fair use' policy garbage. THIS was the a huge

Cons

I wish the HelloSign APP was available in Canada. No idea why it's not. Makes ZERO sense to me. I can still access it on my phone but I have to sign in using a mobile browser, and THAT means my use can be tracked by companies like Google and Samsung... I DO NOT LIKE THAT! I like an APP that I click on and I'm right there to do business without the extra strokes and 2FA. That annoys me.

Reason for choosing Dropbox Sign

DocuSign is NOT actually UNLIMITED, it has actual limitations, so DocuSign is actually misrepresenting its product, as least the Single User Option I was considering. THAT pi\*\*ed me off. As far as Signaturely, I really wanted to go with them, but I had issues navigating their platform, too many 'error' messages, and their customer service solution was absolutely too slow to respond, and even though my previous trial with them was absolutely positive, but Signaturely was still 1000% easier to navigate than Adobe Sign. We actually have a Adobe Acrobat DC subscription which includes a Signing App, but the Adobe Sign navigation system is brutal, frustrating and annoying. I have zero time to dedicate to learning their system. I even downloaded, printed off and read their 69 page Adobe Sign User Guide. Short version, it's NOT INTUITIVE for me. I spent about 2 hours figuring out a particular solution to an issue I was having, but I had to cruise all over their website to find that solution. TOO Cumbersome. I will never use it, even though it's basically Free with our current subscription, what's that tell you. Either I'm a total idiot, or their navigation system sux. I'm going with the latter, and I have zero intention of wasting more of my time with Adobe. One would perhaps assume that a corporation the size of Adobe would spend a few more shekels on product development for this one.... apparently the bean counters have taken overridden or fired the common sense team.

Switched from

[Docusign](https://www.capterra.com/p/121506/Docusign/)

I was using their trial subscription which I really liked, and was about to sign up as I needed more per month than their trial would allow, but I read their terms and conditions and found that their UNLIMITED is NOT Unlimited with DocuSign. Their UNLIMITED for a Single User is 8 actually per month, at least that is what I found. I did not like that little hidden codicil, I don't like sneaky buried policies. UNLIMITED SHOULD TRANSLATE INTO UNLIMITED, not become subject to some 'fair-use' policy. I have not run into that 'limitation' with HELLOSIGN... HelloSign actually delivers UNLIMITED without me having to worry about some hidden policy that is not spelled out right up front. Since April 2022 I have sent out 27 docs for signatures with complete success and ZERO Surprises. I made the correct choice. THAT is why I decided to fill out this REVIEW, to save other small enterprises hidden surprises. Our cash resources are tight and I do NOT like surprises that may or will cost me more than I budgeted.

### "Saved us during the pandemic "

April 4, 2023

5.0

Dropbox transformed the way we operated during the pandemic. It allowed us to integrate the system into our protocols, keep our clients safe, and still operated business as usual.

Pros

The ease of creating templates and documents for signing streamlined our intake process and cut down the initial time required by staff.

Cons

I would like to see a better notification system, i.e., a system where the user can develop the timeline for reminding signers of outstanding documents. Additionally, the ability to mass delete signed documents would be extremely helpful.

June 9, 2022

I love using HelloSign when we need a document signed by our borrowers. It's much more convenient than asking them to print, sign, scan and return the items to us.

Pros

The set-up of the landing page is easy to follow. It takes you through each step needed to upload your document, assign signers, and attach signature boxes quickly and simply.

Cons

### "Revolutionized our sign off practices"

November 14, 2018

5.0

HelloSign is absolutely instrumental for my team (business development). We execute a number of agreements on a daily/weekly basis, and HelloSign makes the process absolutely seamless. It is 100% worth the cost.

Pros

I entered the workforce 10 years ago. The company I worked at was a heavy deal and sign off company, and I was constantly running around the office with a manila folder and a pen to get signatures from everyone I needed. If I lost my document before getting the 10 signatures I needed, I would have to start all over from the bottom of the chain. If HelloSign existed when I was an assistant, I would have gotten so many wasted hours back. HelloSign is a product that I will not be able to work without from hereon out. I was introduced to it in my current position, at the very first moment that I had to sign on boarding paperwork. I fell in love almost instantly. HelloSign allows you to prepare one digital document for execution by as many people as needed. You can set the order that people sign, insert fields for them to type in pertinent information, and send out the document with a few clicks of a button. It is legally binding. I can't write enough about how amazing HelloSign is. I have literally never had a negative experience with it. I wish I could use my business account for everything -- signing leases and personal documents would be a breeze with this thing.

Cons

There is nothing that I don't like about this software. I'm struggling to think of something that frustrates me -- ah. Here's one: sometimes, when you upload a contract and there's not enough height on the lines, it's difficult to create signing fields that don't overlap. But, to be fair, that's a problem that can be fixed with us.

### "Dropbox Sign Provides the Best Online Signature Option"

June 7, 2023

5.0

Overall, Dropbox Sign is a simple solution for collecting signatures on important documents. I do not have any complaints about the functionality of the product and I recommend this to my employees all the time to purchase for their personal use.

Pros

Dropbox Sign is easy to use and it is easy to set up templates. I use Dropbox Sign weekly and I send out about 10 forms each week that require signatures. These documents contain sensitive information and the audit trail ensures that only authorized signers access the files. This product is convenient when we need signatures that we cannot obtain in person or that would take longer to schedule a time to meet in person to get the signature. It also helps save on paper which I otherwise may lose track of it.

Cons

While the price point is fair, I do wish it was a tidbit cheaper. I do not use it to it's full extent because I do not need to, so another basic tier option for the monthly payment would be appreciated.

Cons

### "AKB Needs Folders, please."

5.0

Pros

Easy to use once I dug in a little bit.

Cons

First, I gave a low score on the Features & Functionality for one reason--FOLDERS, FOLDERS, FOLDERS. I was told (before Dropbox acquired Hello Sign) that I was added to a long list of users who need this. I desperately still want this feature. I manage documents for eight states, and currently I have to scroll through 16 or so pages to research or find existing documents.Second, it was confused by "Add Template" on the "Send for Signature" section. In my mind, that indicated I wanted to create a template, but it didn't make sense since there is a "Template" tab. Now that I know, I know, but that was confusing as a new user.

Reason for choosing Dropbox Sign

This is related to the next Q as there isn't room to explain or comment: We utilize Salesforce NPSP and the Ops team administrators indicate integrating Dropbox and Salesforce appears to be difficult. However, they are slammed with transitioning from Virtuous to Salesforce, so looking into integrating got put on the back burner.
