Pros Countfire drastically reduced time spent completing electrical drawing take offs compared to traditional techniques. i also found it great that we can break drawings into zones in line with programe dates allowing us to have accurate information zone by zone. Cons Although i am electrically biased i tried to carry out pipework take offs which were not as easy. i think with some further training this could be better but again i am only carrying out electrical take offs so it has been great. I really liked the scanning feature, and when ive eventually exported the take off, the checklist is a great feature as a final check of my quantities Pros The scanning feature is great and can really help reduce time, also the feature to reconfigure your selected item is a nice touch. Cons I don't like that you cannot individually download dicsiplines. It takes a long time and would be much shorter if i could download individually. Once you have completed your work, you do need to export your takeoff to access your outputs including your checks, drawings and quantities. Exporting typically only takes a few minutes but this can differ depending on a few factors including the size of the project, the complexity of the drawings and symbols, and the cleanliness of the selections in your takeoff. If your takeoff is taking a long time to export, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team on the orange button in the bottom right hand corner of Countfire and we can look into it for you. Pros The Estimating take off software that Countfire provides is second to none. I kind the measurements that I can take off are incredibly quick and precise with good mental security that the project is correctly taken off. It includes all of the features that you will need and more. Cons Rarely the saving feature glitches out and won't let you open another drawing. Apart from that Countfire is great. For example drawing linear fittings and placing them on a layout. The software is great for doing take-offs quickly. Its a really time saver when you are under pressure to get a job priced. Pros Its very user friendly. Easy to use and when your unsure of something, the countfire team are quick to help. Cons I don't like that you cant put drawings together. For example, if a floor is broken into 4 drawings. Once set up properly, it provided a reliable platform for producing professional estimates and helped streamline the tendering process. It’s a strong piece of software for electrical and building services estimating. Pros Countfire made the estimating process much quicker and more consistent. The take‑off tools were easy to use, and the built‑in rules helped reduce errors when measuring containment, cabling, and builderswork. It was especially useful for producing structured, repeatable estimates without having to manually calculate everything each time. Cons Occasionally, drawings could take a while to process or load, particularly on larger or more complex projects. However, this often appeared to be related to the quality or formatting of the PDF drawings rather than an issue with the software itself. The team are very responsive when something goes wrong. Pros Its so easy to use and very helpful with take offs. its very easy to upload information and work you way around a drawing as well as mark it up. Cons nothing at this moment in time.
