There are so many LTI tools you can integrate into Blackboard to be successful. Also it is user-friendly and you don't have to be a tech genius to manage the tools. Cons We have had issues in the past with customer support for Blackboard. There is only so much we have control over and we often have to reach out to support with minimal responses. Pretty much if you can dream it up, you can set up a course that does it. Cons The number of options available means that nothing is simple. The benefit of a platform with 5 options is that you don't have many choices to make. When you have 500 options, the choices can quickly get overwhelming. November 21, 2018 2.0 Pros It costs less than Canvas to be integrated into the current university systems, and it offers decent flexibility for faculties and students to teach and learn. Cons I used both Canvas and Blackboard these years for my studies. The interface and user experience of BB are lagging behind for both faculties and students. It just takes you hours to find out what you need. There are some hidden functions you would never know until you call IT to figure them out. The discussion board is not user friendly as well in terms of the editing, and if you replied to a reply in a thread, your answers would probably not be shown at the administrative end. Once the students became more comfortable, it was much easier to use and I could post more information that is now readily available to them. Pros What I like most is the fact I can communicate with all my students at the same time and that we are all on the same page. There is no question since it is right there. The tool has potential and can expand, however, during my college years I have not seen it change even a bit for the better! Pros This software is used by the university where I study. It's robust and fast in term of accesibility. Also, there are many things in terms of functionality and reporting. Cons UI/UX are horrible here.
