### "Simple and Dependable"

October 29, 2015

5.0

I started using CrashPlan in my home, years ago. Convinced management to purchase the Enterprise version about a year ago. Many of our users are faculty with laptops. We use CrashPlan PROe Cloud to backup their user data, whether on campus or off.

Pros

It is a wonderful relief to know that user data can be backed up to or restored from the cloud from anywhere there is an internet connection.

Cons

None that I have experienced.

### "Good price for backup"

April 24, 2019

4.0

It was easy to install and manage a couple of computers. The price did go up after a few months of me using it but compared to other services it is still very affordable and a good option if you're looking to protect your data with backup and not really "storage".

Pros

Crash plan lets you back up all of your files from a computer and limits based on computers instead of data. So I can backup my video editing machine (terabytes of data) for a great price.

Cons

I can't find a good way to access my backups. It isn't really a cloud service or a way to access files from other places or store previous versions of files like other services like iDrive it Google drive, it's basically what the name says, a plan for if your computer crashes.

### "Great product"

October 30, 2018

Would recommend to anyone. Great product at a fair price

Pros

I installed it and it does its thing. Never a problem. Always backed up.

Cons

Cost is a bit high for the product. But competitive.

### "CrashPlan Saves Many Headaches"

September 17, 2015

5.0

We replaced another vendor's product with CrashPlan a couple of years ago, to overcome VPN dependencies, lack of frequent backup, and to get rid of all of our old in-house infrastructure. CrashPlan has been a stellar performer and our customers are extremely happy!

Pros

1) Internet-based backup 2) ability to set backup frequency and retention policies 3) customer service is outstanding.

Cons

Built-in reporting lacks a little.

### "Code42 review"

March 31, 2016

5.0

We are currently using CashPlan across the company. It will solve all the problems with hard drive failures, virus and will make the process easier for users who are getting a computer replacement since we will just need to re-download the data that has been already backed up

Pros

Backs up silently. It doesn't take too much computer resources to run, making it run really smooth. User interface is really simple and easy to use

Cons

The text color use in the user interface log in screen could be changed to a dark black instead of grey, making it easier for users to read it.

### "Solid Product"

March 29, 2016

5.0

We use Crashplan to protect our managers and C-Level execs and it has been a great experience thus far. The key feature that sold us was the continuous backup (rather than relying on a schedule). My users are all highly mobile, and trying to protect their data with a fixed schedule would have been a fiasco. The app runs in the background, and its managed by our on premise crashplan server (which is a no-cost option). It's dead simple yet very effective.

Pros

Great UI Easy to Manage Continuous backup On Premise server (if desired, public cloud is the default)

Cons

none that i think of at the moment.

### "My choice for backing up my desktop"

December 11, 2016

The CrashPlan is easily configurable, the interface is straightforward, the defaults are pretty good, but you can set your own limits on bandwidth and CPU (backup only on certain wifi networks). They encrypt the files on the user's side.

### "CrashPlan is worth your time and money"

March 29, 2016

4.0

I'm going to keep this short because everyone needs a good backup plan. For remote backups, I highly recommend CrashPlan. Their rates are reasonable, the software more or less easy to set up and use, and the value provided it absolutely worth the cost.

Pros

Off-site backups, easy backups and restore

Cons

May take time to upload/download files based on internet speeds and amount of data being transferred

### "Great protection, easy to use, and it just works."

September 17, 2015

5.0

We have been using CrashPlan for years and it has yet to fail us. The whole product is very easy to use, and setup. It's low maintenance, and the backups just work as they should. Restores are quick and easy with a variety of options for restore from directly to the client or via web and file system. The support team is great!

Pros

Reliable, easy to use and maintain. Customer service.

Cons

None that we have found.

### "Crashplan - Data Backup"

April 9, 2019

5.0

Our company uses Crash Plan as our data back up system in the event of a system failure.

Pros

I like that our system information is protected and we have back up availability in the event of a system failure.

Cons

It's not super user-friendly and definitely takes some training. The interface is not one that a user can simply open and understand how it works.

### "CrashPlan has made my life so much easier!"

November 14, 2017

5.0

Pros

I love the fact that Crashplan is constantly backing up new data to the cloud, and does not use up all of the computer's resources to do so. I love the migration tool when we are imaging and deploying a new set up as well! I think the Administrative console is easy to use and the product is easy for the users to use as well.

### "Ease of use"

December 27, 2016

4.0

Easy to deploy and manage. Minimal learning curve. End user adoption not a challenge. If a system is ever lost or infected with malware I always know their data is safe. I can restore data at any time and I have no worries for the executives that their files are safe!

Pros

Very easy to set up. You can set it up and almost literally forget that it is there. It odes what it says it does and it does it very well.

Cons

Large installations can get pricey. Phone technical support can get busy and require a callback.

### "Does exactly what it says and backs up the data you need securely in the cloud."

May 21, 2018

5.0

Pros

Once installed on the computer or server you would like backed up you never have to touch it again really. I've now installed this on 6 different machines in our business that I wanted to be backed up offsite and it works seamlessly and effortlessly. It runs in the background and has tons of settings in which you can modify how you want the backup to occur. You can choose which files, how often, when, how much bandwidth to use, how much CPU to use, and does it with ease.

Cons

I can't really come up with much of a con really. I use this as a company expense so that makes the price easier to swallow but I can still see this being useful for a single user at home as well.

### "Endpoint Backup Made Easy"

July 29, 2016

5.0

Our clients in house are extremely satisfied which makes our IT staff happy. The gut dropping feeling of data loss is no longer around with Code42 being rolled out in our org. Their infrastructure and interface is simple and easy to use on both sides (end users and admins), and can't imagine life without it now.

Pros

Simple interface, excellent support, and the peace of mind knowing that your users are backed up.

Cons

Other than the occasional client crash on computers, everything seems to be spectacular.

### "Hidden but Works When Necessary"

April 12, 2018

5.0

Peace of mind that my work product and environment are safe and secure.

Pros

This is a great software that runs in the background like most back-up/recovery/encryption services out there. It allows me to work through our network or even with files on my own harddrive without having to worry about losing everything or having risk of serious security events like Ransomware attacks.

Cons

For the most part, my cons with CrashPlan are minimal and insignificant. File searches are useful but I wish they were quicker (but of course patience isn't in great supply when you're looking urgently for a necessary file). The security dashboard/overview is also a bit elementary in display.

### "Crash Plan:The Big Saver"

March 6, 2019

4.0

Very reliable and sole reason for data production. No more worries even if there are data loss due to hardware issues, viruses, malware, data theft, accidental deletion etc.

Pros

Keeps backup safe and simple. Utilizes less system resources that it doesn't slow down the computer. Backups can be easily restored with few clicks. User friendly and good support.

Cons

On rare occasions backup doesn't work sometimes even after multiple restarts. The app can be more visible regarding the backup speeds and time left.

### "Crash plan"

I have been using crash plan for years, in both my personal life and my business life. Small business to setting it up for nasa. Ease of adoption and day to day use along with guaranteed encryption that all can't be beat

Pros

I have never had a data loss under crash plan, or a single user that could not use it to its fullest.

Cons

initial backup is time consuming

### "Great product that is easy to use and does what it says"

March 13, 2018

4.0

Pros

This product is very easy to use and setup. It's a great tool to have to allow your date to backup in the background while you are using your machine on the network.

Cons

I would say the two cons that I can think of would be the slowness of some of the backups that I have to see occur and it would be nice to have offsite backing up available.

### "Code 42's Crash Plan is company that truly looks out for your company and you."

November 11, 2015

5.0

We have used this service for over a year. It has saved us alot of headache and stress for when we have needed to retrieve our employee's records from a laptop possibly crashing, being stolen or from user error. This software is a one stop shop for all of your back up needs.

Pros

The simplicity of using the software is amazing. The customer support is there 100%. They are constantly looking to improve their product from those of us who utilize the software. Not many companies out there that actually listen to the end user. Code 42 does.

Cons

Truthfully some look at the pricing as an issue. For the quality service they offer it is well worth the price and then some. Knowing that important data has been backed up and not losing it is priceless.

### "Excellent product before they changed it to a PAY model..."

July 3, 2018

4.0

Pros

Excellent interface. Easy to setup multiple backup jobs. Scheduled jobs also launched automatically with little to no issues. Log files also were useful.

Cons

Went to be PAY model and could no longer be used for personal use. Was forced to uninstall and find another product. Was extremely disappointed.

### "Peace of mind- Priceless."

December 8, 2018

5.0

Pros

I run several small businesses from my laptop. That makes the fear of data loss a huge looming threat constantly. I'd make backups of my backups on top of my backups. "Just in case". It was stressful and took up so much of my time. With CrashPlan, I no longer have to worry. I make my usual backup to my MyCloud storage here and home once a week, and know that Crashplan has my back as well, if my MyCloud fails for any reason. There's no longer a need to backup on multiple devices everywhere 'just in case'. The time and energy saved enables me to be more productive at actually working, instead of protecting.

Cons

I'd love an integration with the WDMyCloud, so I could sync my regular backup at the same time, but that's just me being fussy and wanting it all, really.

### "Rest Assured Your Data is Safe"

October 10, 2018

5.0

My experience has been great for the most part. I have had to use CrashPlan to retrieve data from ex-employees' accounts and never had a problem.

Pros

I like that once the software is set to run, I don't have to do any more admin.

Cons

Several times, CrashPlan stopped working on some of my employees' computers and there was no notification.

### "I was a fan, for a while"

December 10, 2018

2.0

Initially it was a great backup solution at a fair price. Having real time cloud backup fixed the problem of expecting end users to do a backup, and it provided another key to the backup triad, by being offsite. I would still be using it if not for the reliability issues. I have since moved my backups (and my users) to another service.

Pros

When I first used it and installed it for customers, it worked well and was a reasonable price. The user interface was easy enough to use.

Cons

They killed the home backup service. Also, the software became unreliable. It would fail to reach the backup servers. A reinstall would fix it, for a time. And then it would fail again. There are numerous reports of this and the troubleshooting steps never seemed to resolve the issue.

### "Crashplan is Tremendous"

October 9, 2015

5.0

CrashPlan succeeds at being incredibly efficient and reliable. This is the opposite of bloatware. It's almost too good to believe, so be a skeptic and give it a try. That's all the convincing you will need.

Pros

Super efficient, quick, easy on resources

Cons

Could be a penny cheaper. Sorry, just can't think of much.
