### "Indispensable help for backing up your data"

July 18, 2017

5.0

I can sleep safely knowing that I can easily restore my data at any time.

Pros

It's fast at backing up my data and it's able to retain my files even if I removed them from my HDD (even on purpose). It's can also backup my external HDD whenever I attach it.

Cons

The backup process can slow down my system, so I had to designate certain hours as backup periods. I usually do this over the weekend so during the week I get e-mail messages that my computer's not been backed up. In this case the messages are useless - they could factor in the designated backup times.

### "Simple"

January 17, 2019

4.0

It has been a good choice for our organization, giving us the ability to back up devices that needed it. While the occasional manual fixes we've needed to implement have been annoying occasionally, the documentation usually has been sufficient in guiding us the right way.

Pros

Starting an account and installing the software is easy, and everything runs in the background with very low resource requirements.

Cons

Occasionally, the services require manual maintenance, which isn't ideal for mass deployments. There are also some default settings which are implemented naively; look out for it trying to back up a page file unsuccessfully.

### "CrashPlan ProE: Great Product"

December 14, 2015

5.0

I have been using CrashPlan for the past 18 months and it has been nothing short of great. It has helped out users both in catastrophic events as well as scheduled PC upgrades. It was fairly straight forward to set up, spend about an hour with an Code42 engineer getting it set up and haven't had to make a change besides regular software upgrades.

Pros

Easy to use, set and forget with clients

Cons

My only gripe is that archive maintenance does use client resources for a short bit of time.

### "Crashplan is the best backup I've ever used"

February 27, 2017

4.0

it just works. Solid support when you need it, and no issues with getting the files when you need them. I've used crashplan for over two years and noce once has it failed me.

Pros

Cryptowall and other ransomware are nothing to this. It's affordable, and it always works.

Cons

Some work could be done on some error codes. A few acague ones I have to call support on.

### "A great tool for endpoint backup and recovery"

September 17, 2015

5.0

CrashPlan form Code42 is a great tool for endpoint backups and recovery. we are a manufacturing company operating 12 locations world wide. We have this software in place on over 100 computers. We have it deployed in 4 countries, primarily to mobile users. Previously we had issued external hard drives to users to complete backups either in office or at home. We found most of the users were carrying the drives with them and if the laptop was stolen so was the drive.

Pros

Quick backups every 15 minutes with the ability to configure backup frequency. Backups are completed to data centers around the world based on geographic location. light weight clients that are automatic so there is no user interaction for backup to complete. Easy to understand restore function that allows users to restore their own files. Central control function on our in house server and in house retention of encryption keys. Great customer support with amazing setup assistance.

Cons

None that we have found yet.

### "Best in Class"

October 19, 2015

4.0

CrashPlan was brought into our company to backup our VIP users with extremely confidential and critical data. It was a replacement for SOS backup which was simply terrible, so it would be easy to replace and be happy with any product. However CrashPlan blew us away with their Admin console , ease of use and not to mention their leader in class customer service. Would recommend to everyone. Home all the way up to enterprise

Pros

Administrator console Highly customizable Reliable Ease of use for users & Admins Deploying was a breeze Best in class customer service.

Cons

None so far. Will report back if anything changes but I doubt it

### "CrashPlan ProE"

December 1, 2015

5.0

I love the ability to integrate it into LDAP. The ease of use for deployment of the application to a laptop and or desktop is seamless. The dashboard is very easy to use and has useful information right on the main page.

Pros

Low overhead of the desktop application. I love the fact that it just backs up on a set schedule and can be throttled so that it does not use a lot of bandwidth.

Cons

Not available for IPADs yet. As we have users that only have IPADS their data is not able to be backed up at this time. Have to resort to using ICLOUD.

Cons

Still need some work on client side. Just get allot that report they are connecting when they are not. (simple to fix though) Reporting is really the only are they really lack in when it some to the server end

### "Excellent for Education"

April 7, 2016

5.0

Code42's CrashPlan is great for use in Educational environments. We back up our file servers and critical image files. Yes, some people actually still use file servers!

Pros

Ease of implementation Support is awesome Restore is simple Many backup options to choose from

Cons

Some updates are not cumulative. However, if my back up guy would actually read the instructions we'd be better off.

### "Install and forget"

March 5, 2018

5.0

Pros

Easy backup, simple installation, What we like most is the option to have backups every 15 minutes, this has saved us multiple times, when files got overwritten, Emails on failure helps too,

Cons

No option to backup live SQL databases, A workaround for this to create a backup job to save backups to disk,

### "CrashPlan is a dependable data security and back-up option"

October 5, 2017

5.0

Pros

CrashPlan is easy to install and use. I've had it for a little over a year, and it has dependably backed up all data from my multiple computers and hard drives. With the dashboard view, it's easy to see the status of all devices' data back-ups and to securely access data from any device if needed.

Cons

The initial data back-up for each device is fairly time-consuming. It might be better if the sleep, user-is-away, and other settings were auto-adjusted for the initial back-up to expedite it.

### "Ease of mind! "

May 14, 2019

5.0

The customer service is great with Crash Plan and the ease of use is simple. There is no learning curve and I feel that I can trust the software to help me manage all of my back up needs.

Pros

I love that I can count on an online cloud back up as additional security for my photographs. As a wedding photographer, making sure I have adequate back ups of my images makes me feel so much better when I can count on multiple sources.

Cons

Back up is slower then I anticipated, but largely due to large files.

### "Set It and Forget It"

November 3, 2016

5.0

I have a desktop and a laptop backing up to CrashPlan Central. The configuration was not particularly difficult. I am backing up all user data: i.e. pictures, music, documents, etc. (I was tempted to ignore Code42's advice and back up my applications and system, as well as my user data. But this slows down the backup process and CrashPlan is not designed to restore your system, but rather your files and data.) CrashPlan works in the background, so once it is configured, you pretty much don't need to think about it again. Unless disaster strikes. Which it did for me when my iMac died and the restore I did from my Apple TimeMachine backup was incomplete. I had lost a bunch of files. I restored from CrashPlan easily and my life was again complete. Worth every penny I'd spent on CrashPlan over several years.

### "Works Great For Backing Up A NAS"

May 17, 2018

5.0

Pros

We needed an emergency cloud backup for some projects on a NAS. Not only does this get the job done, but it is incredibly cheap. I have not had to restore from the cloud yet, but have done a test, and it worked pretty smoothly.

Cons

I wish the UI was a little better. Had some issues where I moved a folder that was being backed up and then had to set the folder path all over again. Wish it knew you moved it and changed automatically.

### "Set it and forget it backup tool"

December 8, 2018

3.0

Pros

Set it and forget it and securely your files are in the cloud or at another destination like another computer which is really handy for a small business

Cons

Wish they wouldn't have removed the consumer levels of their backup plans. Mac and iOS apps are clunky and hard to navigate
