For more complex projects I have used it through Remote Desktop so the scheduling process can be faster. Pros It is the most powerful planning and scheduling tool at the moment and can manage the most complex projects without problem. Also, it can be linked to Primavera Risk Analysis to check on risks. Cons Learning curve is a little bit more complex compared to other alternatives such as Microsoft Project. Pros The planning capacity of primavera is unmatched. The critical path analysis is like no other tool. Cons The complexity of using this tool makes in extremely challenging to train people on it. Many tutorial available to teach the software and it is kind of straight forward Cons Oracle have not developing a lot in the past couple of years. The layout still the same and it seems like they are not listening so much to the end users. The market is going into the direction of BIM/Lean integration. Additionally, AI is making a revolution that may soon affect the roots of Oracle. Il software, con il modulo di pianificazione, mi permette, tenendo conto delle risorse disponibili e delle scadenze, di strutturare piani di rilascio ottimizzati. Il foglio delle presenza, inoltre, si è rivelato ottimo per la gestione del numero di FTE impegni su un determinato progetto, in modo tale da fatturare correttamente al cliente il numero di risorse impiegate a giornata. Pros Oracle Primavera Cloud è un software, basato su moduli, ottimo per la gestione di un ampio portafoglio progetti. Il software è in grado di valutare le risorse disponibili e le loro capacità, al fine di suggerire in allocazione efficiente sui progetti gestiti. L’allocazione delle risorse varia, può essere ottimizzata, inoltre, anche in base alle scadenza o ad eventuali criticità emerse in corso di progetto. Oracle Primavera Cloud, infatti, è in grado di fornire evidenze in tempo reale sulla stato di un progetto evidenziando tempestivamente le criticità. It gave my students a great edge in project management along with their CS senior project design and implementation. Definitely the responsibility of having a professional project management software with formalized schedules and due dates has improved the quality of delivery of the projects in this course. Pros I always rely on Primavera to handle the project management tasks of the Senior Project course I teach for undergraduate CS students. This 2 birds in one stone aspect that allows students to keep track of their project progress and involves them in a professional project management environment that they will surely need later on in their career. The main advantage of OPC is that it is a cloud-based solution that reduces a lot the cost of its use compared to the traditional Primavera P6 software. Depending on the resources available we used to alternate among using other solutions such as Microsoft Project and Monday.com. Primavera definitely is leading in the Project Management field and it aided a lot in improving the quality of the senior projects delivered in the course. Cons Two main things: (1) the cost is a bit restrictive especially in an academic setting and (2) the learning curve is a bit steep for undergraduate students to acquire in a one/two semester senior project course.
