Deposits are easy to make, adjustments or corrections relatively easy to make. Reconciliation is compliant the NC Bar Association. Both the attorney and I can be in the software at the same time. It's pretty user friendly. Cons I cannot edit more than one check in on matter. I have to go back to that matter and change. When I write checks for a future date, the check numbers don't automatically go forward and can really mess things up if you aren't careful. It's just annoying. November 17, 2020 5.0 I listened to the Coffee with LawPay segment with TrustBooks and I immediately emailed one of the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] to get set up. I was struggling to keep up with balancing my trust accounts and knew I needed help. I was sold within the first 10 minutes of the demo. The product is solid and the price point is worth every penny. Pros The interface and ease of use of TrustBooks makes it simple and comfortable to use. Also, the customer service is AMAZING! They follow-up and reach out like mind readers. Cons It was difficult at first to integrate my firm because I hosted multiple IOLTA accounts in multiple states. The software kept getting confused as to which went where when it was imported from Clio. I don't think this would happed if it was manual entry. Reason for choosing TrustBooks I took control of my own books through TrustBooks, at a reasonable cost. I didn't want to hand off my business to someone who just does things in the background. This way I can see and learn myself so I don't need to pay an outside person to do this work. Review Source DF David F. Clear and prompt. Pros You can see the status of a matter very clearly and quickly. The reconciliation reports are clear and compliant with NC rules. Cons We had to tweak some settings at first. It has simplified the trust accounting process and it is hard to imagine maintaining the trust account without Trustbooks. Cons Trustbooks was easy to integrate and easy to set up the old accounts. November 17, 2020 5.0 Pros This software is extremely user-friendly, and has been able to meet and/or exceed every need of our firm. Cons There are a few minor tweaks that I would like to see, mainly just with the defaults that are in place. For example, we have multiple trust accounts, and when I go to view the various matters that we have within all of those accounts, it automatically defaults to an account that is not used as regularly as some of the other ones. Pros Ease of use . . . So easy to understand. Cons The reports that print out are all landscape, which I don't like. They're very basic as well. Reason for choosing TrustBooks I did look at another product, but I don't remember what it was. It was not as easy to understand and I don't have a lot of time to learn a software product. Pros It was able to fill a need that was missing in the legal field regarding trust accounts. Cons It would be great for the system to also implement an accounting component so we could review how much money was earned for a specific client and or a component that added the transfers from Trust up. Making sure my trust account is compliant with all Florida Bar rules is one of the most stressful areas of my practice and this tool eliminates that completely. Cons I wouldn't mind if Trustbooks could send me a reminder email if I haven't logged in each week. Pros I like the software the most because it makes it impossible to go into the negative on a trust account if you are logging your deposits regularly. It is much easier and allows for much less human error than other systems (like spreadsheets). Cons It doesn't fully integrate with my case management software, or merchant services. We link TrustBooks with our Clio case management software and the uploading process to transfer the data to TrustBooks from Clio is a smooth weekly (for us) process. Cons Nothing so far. Since using Trustbooks I no longer dread doing my monthly reconciliations. I can create them quickly and since the reports are time stamped, it keeps me accountable to doing them timely. Cons I would love to see a more detailed and readily accessible list of deposits and payments in list form separate from the matter. It does show the most recent but there are times I would like to see a whole month's list without having to go into each separate matter to make sure it was entered. Review Source CS Candace S. I would never dream of managing my trust account without it. I am a Clio user and so its synchronization with Clio makes my management of my trust account even easier. Additionally, the easy to use reconciliation feature allows me to reconcile with my bank statement in minutes. Plus, it allows me to upload my statements for easy reference! I highly recommend it and would encourage all of my colleagues to use it, whether a big firm or small firm like myself. Thank you, Trustbooks, for making the management of my trust account so easy and accurate! Cons I truly have not found anything I do not like about the product at this time.
