The tools are in the form of images and are extremely intuitive and helpful. Your final project is in a picture and very easy to follow Cons It's not possible to run just a small portion of a project without loading all the data back in again. March 31, 2015 5.0 Pros The inputs are easy to use, the tools are easily understood and well described in the help files and they easily connect with one another. Writing neat output files is made easy regardless of file type. The ability to use R within the module has made a lot of analyses much easier. Cons The transition to newer versions of Alteryx is much too complicated when you have to skip a few of the in-between versions, which my company often does. Whenever I run alteryx flow, numbers become string when I open them in excel. So everytime I have to remember to add one more step to change them back to numeric which is a little cumbersome 2. Cons Such a powerful can't be mastered within a few minutes or hours. It requests to be trained by someone who has a good knowledge of the tool. It is not always easy to understand what is going wrong with the "code" that we are creating.There is a lot of information and buttons and the meaning of some of them is not straight-forward. Whether a contributor is using advanced coding or a more visually inclined, this product unites data users from across the technical spectrum to collaborate in a common intuitive way. Cons Setting up connection is not always straight forward and dependent on data environment of one's workplace. However, this only needs to be done once for a given connection. Pros I love the icons. I am very visual and enjoy knowing what I am doing by simply looking at the icons. This software can be as technical and as user friendly as you make it. The drag and drop of request allows users to play around with the files, data and request without being afraid of braking a formula like in Excel. Cons I don't like whenever I get a "null" error and it does not allow me to correct it. I manipulate the data, remove filters and the null remains visible. Perhaps having a pop up to show where the error lies in your work. There are okay trainings through their website. I think that is where they could improve. Their customer service is AMAZING. There is an on-call chat service. They will discuss your issue with you and even do a screen-share and phone call if you need the help. I would recommend Alteryx to others who need to do data prep and predictive/advanced analytics.
