Those days, we were using SQL (old school), SQL Server, MS. SQL, and a whole pile of old systems. INFORMATICA showed up with modern ways of how to handle Data. And, that time we did not even have cellphones & Social Media but INFORMATICA was able to translate data across all Platforms. I thought, ETL, thank you. Pros Informatica is seamless (sp). It is a great tool for anyone who works with Data. Cons The Cons are Informatica is not given its due. It is one of the best tools in the Industry. Informatica is a very powerful tool. The world is catching on. Reason for choosing Informatica Big Data INFORMATICA is very powerful. They still rule because they built a very powerful of analyzing Data. Data Warehouses were unheard of when INFORMATICA showed up. They provided a service many Data Analysts needed. Wow!! Switched from [SAS Visual Analytics](https://www.capterra.com/p/266531/SAS-Visual-Analytics/) SAS used to be very specific. SAS is still one of the best tools in the world entire. It was cool to see a lot of what could be done. I really liked the speed at which we could test to see if certain datapoints would be consumed or not. We are able to query the needed objects, however the means that we have to create the queries when you are doing parent-child objects is a little difficult. Senior System Analyst Media Production Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Informatica uses too many resources in Salesforce" October 7, 2016 1.0 Informatica setup our system and right away we had issues as the amount of resources it used caused other batch jobs we had to fail. Once that was resolved (we had to use fewer batches), it worked for a month or two and then stopped working. At that point Informatica looked at our Org and tried to run the batches, but they ran for days. We finally abandoned the product Pros Not sure there were any Cons Bloated batch jobs.
